I didn't buy into that plan. Good luck taking on the corporations. And it's not just them. When you look at a grocery store you have the store charging to have the item, shipping costs which have gone up, product price which has gone up, materials which has gone up, labor which has gone up, etc etc etc. Should CEOs make what they make? No. Certainly not. But how will you fix each of those steps to lower costs? Yes, but at least she said she would do something. What did dump say? Nothing. He said nothing.... nothing to help. He couldn't even pronounce the word groceries because he's so stupid and can't read. And he is going to add tariffs to everything he can and renewing and increasing tax cuts for the rich while increasing them for the rest of us. Cutting Obama care which so many rely on, SS Medicare. Cutting most safety nets. To have a president that would work for all and not retaliate against all those he feels have wronged him. To not silence those who speak against him. Many retailers have been lowering costs and still making large profits. But none of this matters now … Time will tell. I was hoping for things to go back to normal and to not hear him and maybe just maybe for the Republican Party to go back to something like it was. |

My faith in my fellow females is destroyed. So many young females I know voted for Trump. So many older females I know vote for Trump. So many of my Hispanic students are Trump fans. What am I missing? I just don’t get it. When I think same, I remind myself that if I "got it" what would that say about me. Not sure I want to get it. Even if their probable mistake of trusting trump with $$$, they are choosing money over people's literal rights and lives. I don't get it either. Don't wanna feel that feel. I'm not rich by ANY stretch of the imagination but Id5 live more modestly for people I don't know to not be "othered". |

I'd actually like to see people's reasons and specific responses as to the "way the country was moving"... and not some generic bullshit answer. What is the problem? It's hyperbole. The wipe out of the middle class. Home ownership is unattainable. (Specific - after Covid cost of wood increased significantly which drove up home prices even more. A $500k home is now $750/850k starting in my area. And even at 500k, there was no way we could afford a home) Paying for college is unattainable. (Specific - CSUs voted to raise tuition again) (another specific - a degree no longer guarantees a well paying career so the cost to benefit ratio is off) Multiple jobs needed to make ends meet. Rent prices. My friends have their adult kids still living at home. Dd won't be moving out for quite awhile. Rent starts at 4k here for a 2 bedroom. What did Biden admin do to fix those issues? If housing prices are that high, there are buyers. Homeownership statistics among all ages is still in the same range it's been since the 60's. Mid 60% plus or minus a few points over the years. Where it's falling... younger adults. So what is needed is targeted relief for a specific demographic. The Tom Nichols quote I posted earlier... People won't allow it. "You can't give people under 35 assistance, when a 40 year old millennial didn't have it. It is unfair!" So then some ridiculous "fair" proposal that gives incentives to builders, not buyers gets passed. And better off, older people (and I'm not talking, rich people, but Boomers who's retirement investments panned out) looking to park money, scoop up the new homes. It's the American way! It's a we problem in how we accept problems to be solved. Often these situations, only get solved in the way they did for many of our ancestors, via migration. |

I would have probably said that the country was on the wrong path if asked, but it wouldn’t have been because of the current administration. It is because of Trump, MAGA and the cancer that they have spread throughout the country. Just because 2/3 of people answered yes to that question it doesn’t mean that they have the same reasons for their answer. |

I know California went blue (as always) but quite honestly, Kamala did a shit job when she was the DA in SF and the state AG. Crime is rampant in CA (as well as most places now, really) due to laws that tended to not want to prosecute criminals. CA just, tonight, passed (or looks like it’s passing) a proposition to fix one that was voted in that lessened criminal charges for certain crimes. I think people see this and are worried. That said, as others have pointed out, the economy is huge in this election. Many are struggling to make ends meet. I’m a 26 years of service teacher and my pay went DOWN $200/mo while everything I have to pay for has gone UP. My pay decreased because my monthly insurance premium went up $200 and we are still negotiating out 24/25 contract in my district. Last I checked the DA and AG don’t make the laws. I also hadn’t heard that she did a “shit” job but I don’t watch right wing media. Perhaps your teacher pay has to do with your state government, not Biden? Which state do you live in? |

What really frightens me is that I believe that he is getting senile. I find it hard to believe that a man his age and in his condition-obese, horrible diet, etc, will last. So it would be an opening for that putz Vance to be in charge.
This is going to be bad-worse than Bush. And think about how bad he was. Trump will be so much worse.

NATO scares me plus of course his revenge. Listening to him in 2015 vs now he is completely different. He also will have no fear of because the SC has given him the all clear plus he has the house and senate. Kennedy and musk will also be given free reign. He only has yes men this time around no one to say no you can’t do that. Then there is the threat of Vance. |

I struggled to fall asleep last night because I was so upset. I woke up a few minutes ago, checked my phone, hoping that something wonderful had happened after I went to sleep but no. I feel devastated.
I opened Facebook and I am so sorry that I did. The first picture in my feed was my favorite niece and her husband, both wearing Trump shirts, huge smiles on their faces, celebrating the win. I knew they had voted for Trump the first time around, but I didn't know they were still supporters. I don't think I will ever look at them the same way, and that breaks my heart.

I am just sad. I find it so hard to believe that Harris lost some major swing states. I despise all the conspiracy theories but I find it so hard to believe that she would lose by so much. Trump has said all along that he didn't need the votes, he had a "secret" he wouldn't tell until after the election, mentioning names in public of election workers that were "doing a great job". I feel like he did something to affect the outcome of this election. I know I listened to primarily democrat news but it is difficult to fathom that all the support she had, in crowds and money, still resulted in her losing. I don't buy it. But there is nothing I can do about it and I am drained. I can't stand hearing Trumps voice and am frightened for me and my daughters. This morning I unfollowed all the tik tok accounts I could find that discussed politics, unfollowed all the podcasts, and skipped through videos to hopefully get my algorithm back to crafts, home decoration, and cute cat videos. I am going to withdraw from the dating scene as I can't imagine finding someone that doesn't support trump and has the same values I do.
This isn't like the old elections. I didn't care about politics much because I figured anyone running for president had the best interests of the country at heart. I don't trust Trump and his cronies and their agenda. I feel numb.

Sadly, my husband voted for him. We’ve been growing further and further apart politically for the past eight years, ever since Trump came on the political scene. I was hopeful that Kamala would win and my brainwashed DH would start to see the error of his ways. But now today, I find myself wanting to run to a lawyer and get my ducks in a row to file for divorce, before Project 2025 makes it harder to divorce! I am so upset. Thirty years down the drain…😢.
