I am so nauseous this morning. How can so many Americans be filled with that much hate to elect this lunatic again?! Sadly, my husband voted for him. We’ve been growing further and further apart politically for the past eight years, ever since Trump came on the political scene. I was hopeful that Kamala would win and my brainwashed DH would start to see the error of his ways. But now today, I find myself wanting to run to a lawyer and get my ducks in a row to file for divorce, before Project 2025 makes it harder to divorce! I am so upset. Thirty years down the drain…😢. I know how you feel, only for me it’s 20 years instead of 30. Hugs. This election result makes me understand just how little people value women’s’ contributions to history and how little they think of true equality between the sexes.

My marriage ended after the last Trump election. My daughter called me this morning crying and now I'm crying too. She is afraid the disability, ssi, and medicare she receives for her multiple disabilities will be stripped away. Not to mention that she is gay as well. I'm so sad.

Plus family.

I think I need to walk away from anything resembling politics or current affairs for a while. And yes, I know that means I have an enormous amount of privilege as a white, straight, cisgender, married woman past child-bearing age who is educated and has a good and stable income. That is how I was thinking during the night. It is taking up too much of my brain space and affects my productivity, causes tension, and just doesn’t feel good. I was feeling that way before yesterday as well and was hoping I would be able to distance myself because of feeling more positive. Clearly that didn’t happen. Ugh.

I’m numb, just numb. I want to be more numb, but I don’t drink and I don’t do recreational drugs, so I just sit here numb and nauseated. How do I put on an encouraging face for my children? For my gay son? For my transgender son? For my daughter? For my autistic son? I just don’t know what to do anymore.
When the anger comes, and I hope it will come because I want to feel something, I will question my mother and every sibling and ask if they voted for him, again. I already know the answer but I want them on the hot seat. And then I will tell every one of them that they are dead to me. We’re done. I don’t think it will really matter to most of them. They believe themselves to be righteous, moral people, but clearly they are amoral and selfish. At least I’ll be able to say good riddance to that bad trash, finally. The eight years of grace I’ve afforded them is all I can do…
I’ve believed for a while that this country was headed for a hard reset. I don’t care so much for myself, but my heart bleeds for my kids.

I’m so depressed…it feels like 2016 again ….but much worse. Because we've all lived through the nightmare once and he's repeatedly told us how much worse it's going to be. I want to cry.

I know California went blue (as always) but quite honestly, Kamala did a shit job when she was the DA in SF and the state AG. Crime is rampant in CA (as well as most places now, really) due to laws that tended to not want to prosecute criminals. CA just, tonight, passed (or looks like it’s passing) a proposition to fix one that was voted in that lessened criminal charges for certain crimes. I think people see this and are worried. That said, as others have pointed out, the economy is huge in this election. Many are struggling to make ends meet. I’m a 26 years of service teacher and my pay went DOWN $200/mo while everything I have to pay for has gone UP. My pay decreased because my monthly insurance premium went up $200 and we are still negotiating out 24/25 contract in my district. Disagree. On? Explain please.

I also hadn’t heard that she did a “shit” job but I don’t watch right wing media. Perhaps your teacher pay has to do with your state government, not Biden? Which state do you live in? I live in the golden state of California. I also don’t watch Fox. I’ve seen it first hand. I live in it.

Like so many of you, I'm heartbroken and scared. And so exhausted that we have to survive 4 more years of insanity. It's beyond discouraging to know that so many people would choose racism, misogyny, homophobia and a madman over a capable female. This country hates women.

The red states need to understand the rest of us help pay their bills with OUR taxes.. of course, not TFG, he seems to not pay income taxes or pays very little.... So, he is going to eliminate taxes on Social security? I didn't mind paying taxes on SSA... but I guess if he cuts SSA I'll pay less taxes and get no check. Win win for him...

Picture to follow but the pink one is one that hit home. Hard. Disappointing. I felt like I talk so much just to hope to spread empathy maybe help change a few minds. Obviously that doesn't work no reasoning with them. I'm done engaging to change minds. Fight the fight but I'll have them on ignore. The other is me, last night when reality struck. Hope and benefit of the doubt for others.. gone. Yeah those two statements pretty much sums it up for me right now.

I am so worried for my son and the future of public education. He receives free pre school due to an IEP for a speech disorder. What am I going to do if the department of education is dismantled?

I'm sorry as I don't know an answer, but he wont be affected until after dump is installed, so after January 2025?

I am so worried for my son and the future of public education. He receives free pre school due to an IEP for a speech disorder. What am I going to do if the department of education is dismantled? From talking with those in high positions at districts and reading up, it will actually be quite hard for him to fully dismantle the Dept of Ed. None of them are worried. So that brings me a sense of relief having a son in SDC and next year will be in the adult program for 3 years. Though that gets a lot of funding from the state and Dept of rehabilitation. And it seems it is more about districts that fund the so not happening surgeries and push LGBTQ+ (again not happening) as well as reversing transgender athletes from playing on school teams.

Districts hopefully will step up. However they will walk a thin line. P2025 proposes cutting federal funding to those who do not adhere to the new regulations. All you would need is one maga whistleblower reporting transgressions .

I don't hold as much hope for education and my educator friends and I are worried. I tutor kids that have 504's or IEP's and it is SO hard to get teachers/districts to follow what is legally obligated of them. Many will have NO problem with getting rid of protections for kids that are making their job "more complicated". Trump is a bully and the people that voted for him are bullies and bystanders. They will have no problem targeting the "others" that are kids with learning differences like my daughter and the other kids I tutor.

• So Dept of Ed will likely go. Families forced to use private schools? Only certain subjects will be taught. Growing up a new generation who don’t think for themselves/parrot only what they’re taught. • Special Ed students will likely have no protection. Will they be institutionalized? This has been a talking point, to bring institutions back. • Vaccine changes/elimations. More sick kids/ possibly with lifetime issues. • Keep people spoon-fed info and uneducated. Ghastly. Stunning.

In the shower this morning (where I do my best thinking) I kinda had a realization…. The people I know who voted for Trump were for the most part bullied pretty severely at some point in their lives. They voted in a bully. Any chance they saw their bully and are glad there’s someone bullying someone else? I dunno… my 6:30am shower brain came up with this.

and the graveyards will fill with kids who did not get their vaccinations, women who did not get proper reproductive health care, cancer patients who suffered from the hate of science this new administration will have..
do you think this will change anyone? a million people dying from covid didn't change anyone.
sometimes today I am glad I do not and will never have grandchildren.

I watched election night in disbelief.
The country really wanted a convicted felon? Instead of a woman?
This is where we are?
I feel sick. I am stressed. And I feel caught off guard, and punched in the gut. I really thought Harris would win.
So, what happens now? Do we all pretend that Trump doesn't have sentencing coming up later this month? Will he still have sentencing?
Are we okay with rapists in the WH now?
And convicted felons? Now that being a convicted felon doesn't hold you back from holding the job of POTUS, can we drop that screening process from fast food and retail applications?
I am just fucking gobsmacked. And afraid. For myself. For my children. For all of us.

But the convictions weren’t real they were all overturned 🤦♀️ no they weren’t. They were all made up because he was running. Uggg
People are all on cloud nine walking around thinking he is their savior. Inflation is going to go down and everyone is going to be doing so much better. When abortion was brought up. Well we live in California so we don’t have to worry about that smh 🤦♀️ pounding my head on the table.
