I purged heavily a few years ago when I thought it would be our last Christmas in this house. What made the cut: 1. Santa 2. Stars 3. Bells I picked up a few new things at Crate & Barrel yesterday and had to LOL because they are a Santa ornament, star ornaments (that will be used on gift bags for friends) and a jingle bell garland. My theme is minimal but clear.

North Pole Explosion or maybe Santa Claus vomited I grew up in a house that would have 42 trees, each different themes. And it could be done for either "Normal Christmas" or "Disney Christmas." And I basically continued, although I don't have that much room so it's like 7-11 trees. 42? For real? How big was your house? It was a 3500 sq ft old Victorian. Trees were of varying sizes 2' to 10'. The formal living room, dining room, upstairs family room, and several bonus rooms had multiples. Christmas was my parents "thing."

I bring out a a few small things each year to relieve the boredom. I only decorate my living room.

Elves Gone Wild
My holiday decor is an eclectic whimsical mishmash of styles, bright and classic colors and random themes leaning heavily into animation such as Disney, Minions, Rudolph, etc. It’s like you took the Santa’s Workshop out of every Christmas movie ever and did a mashup.

It's A Lot.
We do two main trees...a homey tree with Buffalo plaid, popcorn, cranberries and SO MANY ornaments that reflect our hobbies and travels, Snoopy, white lights and lots of red. The other is beachy and slim with aqua and cream and silver, white lights. All beach and sea and lake ornaments, with sparkles. I love it so much.

Family room: Hodge podge and Hallmark
This is where the fireplace is located. This year the stockings will increase to 8, because Dad will now have a stocking at our house. Put DH on alert that he will need to create 2 hooks to fit my vision for how I want the fireplace to look.
Due to the Tiny Terror, it will likely be decorated in Hallmark ornaments this year. Anything sturdy enough to survive falling. Colorful lights.
Living room: This is my tree. Reds, golds, silvers, whites. White lights. Mercury glass. Hand blown glass. Lenox snowflakes. White lights.
This one will likely not go up this year. ☹️

I grew up with the "put the tree up on the 24th --after it drip dries in the carport--in seattle so it was always raining when we bought the tree, decorate it with family ornaments and tinsel--take it down 4 days later"
even when the kids were small it was basically the same thing with stockings and a nativity scene thrown in. now back down to a 4 ft tree and nativity scene. on the 23rd. for 5-8 days.

What Dh Wants
I’m not really into over the top decorating. But, dh is. He does most of the decorating. I do the clean up and pack away after.
Minimal Neutral White
Is more my style. Right now everything is still in storage as we gradually move into our new house.
