Ha ha ha! Been there, but only two large and one small. For several years we put the tree on a piece of plywood on top of the two giant dog kennels!

Million Non-traditional Ornaments
I only have time to do one tree and maybe put a few decorations on our porch, so the tree is very over the top-covered in ornaments. Different color theme each year, and wrapping paper has to match. This year is Navy, Gunmetal, and Blush.

Another perfect reply IMO. For me, 3 weeks of holiday music/decoration/shopping is plenty for me. To be clear, the warm feelings and gatherings of (US Thanksgiving and) December can last as many weeks/months as it wants! I am the same way about 3 - 4 weeks being enough. My husband calls me a scrooge. 1. Christmas Village 2. Reds 3. Lots of meaningful ornaments & village pieces

1. Handmade (most of my dolls I decorate with Santa, Snowmen and gingerbread people are made by local shops and friends from Etsy, Instagram etc.) 2. Vintage I collect vintage ornaments, Santa boots, blowmolds. 3. Primitive Christmas decorating is my main goal.

Shrinking every year.
Seriously, I just find myself putting out less and less because no one comes over here and it's a pain to put away later. Last year's decor was pretty minimal and I bet it'll be even more minimal this year.

Right now I have hot pink, purple, aqua, black, navy, gunmetal, blush. Will probably add Grinch themed colors for next year.

Colourful Eclectic All-over-the-place
We have collected our decorations over many years and just add what makes us happy, a large mash of colour.

Colourful Eclectic All-over-the-place We have collected our decorations over many years and just add what makes us happy, a large mash of colour. This may have been a better description of my decor. I used BLUE b/c those are our outdoor and tree lights, and they tend to set the mood.
Another word I might have used is "traditional", or "ever growing" to describe the fact that we may add items to the decor each year--gifts from others, or something new that catches my eye--we never change the WHOLE scheme.
My decorations are like family who show up to cheer us each season. Some of them come every year; some visit occasionally; some are new to the family; some we have lost b/c they have reached the end of life; but they are all loved.

We have one tree that the color theme changes each year and the ornaments are in various totes. I said last year I was going to get everything organized but dh and the girls were helping so it didn't happen. Yesterday, we started working on some of the decorating and I laid out a game plan of how the totes are to be handled this year. We will see if it works...

I love this description! ❤️ Although I do love my ornaments more than some of my actual family, LOL.

Kidding. Kind of. We outgrew our house a couple of kids ago so it's already cluttered with not much room to decorate. We throw up 2 trees (a family one that I decorate, and a kid one) but it's just mostly keepsake ornaments.

So beautifully, I might add. Just this week, I added 2 more blankets (I have a serious blanket problem), a pillow and a basket. All very colourful, not the least bit matchy, but it’s all Christmas so it goes. They make me smile.

Some of them come every year; some visit occasionally; some are new to the family; some we have lost b/c they have reached the end of life; but they are all loved. This is so perfect. I love it! Our main tree that we put the girls Christmas presents under is called our memory tree. Any ornaments they made in school are on this tree. Every year each girl picks out an ornament that reminds them of their year. When we go on vacation we like to go to souvenir shops to find an ornament from that place. Our first Disney trip we picked out a beautiful ivory colored glass blown mickey ears ornament that had gold snowflakes on it. About 4-5 years ago it got knocked over in the basement and shattered. I have been trying to find a replacement for years with no luck. Finally this year one was listed on Ebay and it was delivered last week. Everyone in the family was so excited. That tree always takes the longest to decorate because the girls reminisce about their ornaments as they put them up. It is probably one of my favorite traditions.

Your Grandma's Stuff I collect Vintage Christmas and love to display it! Shiny Brites and vintage glass ornaments on my tree, I have an aluminum tree but haven't put it up for a few years, vintage ornament boxes, vintage style Santas, colored lights. 1930s-1960s Christmas mashup is my vibe! I decorate differently every year but always use the same stuff--I have enough that I can mix and match it and highlight different things each year. Takes me FOREVER to decorate because of this, but it keeps me entertained and artistically fulfilled and I don't have to buy a whole bunch of new stuff each year.
