If I think about it it's kinda gross to keep something decorative on the back of the toilet (top of toilet tank) bec of the supposed spray of germs and ick that floats up each time the toilet is flushed. But, my question is what if anything do you keep there? In our master bath and our DDs bathroom there isn't anything kept back there but I have put seasonal things on the half bath toilet tank. It's used very frequently so I'm sure there are germs all over what ever is back there. Despite the germs I do like to put something back there in the half bath. Something I can clean with a Lysol wipe when I clean the rest of the toilet. Since I know the peas have a high number of germaphobes I'd like to throw it out there. What, if anything, do you keep on the back of your toilet? If not is it bec of germs?

In the guest bath: a basket of washcloths (toilet lid is ALWAYS closed when flushed...as far as we know)
In the master bath: nothing.

Nothing. But not because I'm a germaphobe. I'm becoming a clutteraphobe.

Nothing. The way the vanities are built, a mirror runs all across the wall. To one side is the sink and cabinets, the other side is the toilet. But the marble (or marble-like) top for the sink extends over across the back of the toilet. I can barely get the lid off.
So, note to people designing bathrooms: blocking in the toilet tank like that is a real PITA, especially when the clorox tab gets stuck under the stopper. It requires a contortionist, or your good kitchen utensils, to knock that sucker back out of the way so your toilet stops running.

Nothing on the upstairs toilets, in the powder room downstairs there is a small wicker basket with Kleenex, an extra roll of tp, and a freshener spray.

Nothing. Sometimes a candle I guess, but usually I put it on a shelf instead. It's not a place I think of as needing anything.

I have the stupid counter running over the tank thing going on in our main bathroom as well. Really? No one thought, hey this may not be a good idea? It's near impossible to get in the tank. Okay, to the question... generally there isn't anything on that part of the counter.

In my master: just a nice, small basket that stores 3 extra rolls of TP. The cabinet that stores the REST of the TP is outside s door and several steps away, so it's important for there to be an extra roll or two in the little toilet closet. In the "guest" bathroom, downstairs, nothing. There's a shelf above the tank (think built-in counter top that narrows and then runs the length of the wall from sink to shower) where I have a dried flower arrangement. In the kids' bathroom (where no kids live ... LOL) nothing. No one ever goes in that bathroom except for the cat. Chele

You close the lid BEFORE you flush to contain the spray.

I was taught you shouldn't put anything there, even a box of tissue because the extra weight can be hard on the hardware that holds the tank in place. So my toilets are only dusty on the tank

I never thought of it before until I was typing what was on my toilet. Then I thought it would be bad if someone mixed those up.

In the master bathroom, I keep an empty charmin wipes container. I keep panty liners, tampons in there. And I do wipe that box down with a Clorox wipe when I clean the toilet.
