Do you style your hair and wear it down daily, pulled back or in a ponytail? Some girlfriends and I were having lunch and there was a remark that after college ponytails are only for working out and doing housework. I tend to wear my hair in a ponytail a lot....mainly because I need a good haircut and because my hair is longer now and it takes forever to straighten or curl.....
So what say the peas?

I won't grow my hair out super long because I know I would keep it up all the time. I get it cut in a way that is easy to keep/fix and only wear it in a ponytail when I'm working out, or it's the day before I wash it. I don't see the point in having long hair if I am just going to wear it up all the time.

I'm lazy and I have long hair. It takes forever to blow dry and straighten...so I do a pony a lot. I also do a messy bun a lot as well. I just hate doing my hair when it's this long. I did start using a curling iron on it to try and get beachy waves and it turned into a hot mess and straight nothing. I give up. Blah!

I will wear a ponytail in the summer if it is hot, but I will make sure it is brushed and sleek - not just thrown up like I would do for cleaning or exercising.
Otherwise I have stick straight, fine medium length hair. I also have an annoying cowlick at the front of my hair line so I usually pin the first section of my hair back with a bobby pin. Otherwise my hair sticks up. I just wear it down. No amount of hairspray allows my hair to hold a curl.

I've never thought of it meaning anything other than I needed my hair out of my face. I can always wrap it up in a bun if it is deemed that ponytails are unworthy.

I've got a pixie cut - wash and go.

It varies. I have it short right now - shoulder length and layered - with side bangs. I wear it blown out like in my avatar or curled with my flat iron if I'm feeling froggy.
Or in a ponytail with my bangs clipped up in a little pouf at the front if I'm feeling lazy or I didn't wash it for a couple of days. (Yes I go two days without washing my hair, I am a filthy beast.)

I wear it down on school/work days. Usually in a ponytail on weekends and when working out. My hair is a bit past my shoulders, layered, with side bangs.
I think other women look cute and pulled-together in ponytails and messy buns, but that having my hair pulled back is pretty unflattering on me, so I don't wear it that way when I care what I look like.

I wear mine in a Pont tail or messy bun most of the time. If I work on site I usually wear it twisted up in a clip. My hair is baby fine and just a bit longer than shoulder length. It does not hold curl and is limp and straight. No amount of mousse gel or styling product makes it do anything. I vary between this length and a child length bob. No bangs. I default to a pony or messy bun because it is not very compliant with styling.

I have curly hair and it never looks the same from day to day. Not that I don't try to make it look the same but it just won't cooperate. I desperately need a new style so that's part of the problem too.

Always down, unless I am working out.

I style mine pretty much daily -- definitely for work or if out-and-about for errands and such. Right now it is long enough for a ponytail, but I usually only wear it in one for running/working out -- and not even always for that.

I wear my hair down and curled on work days or if I'm going "out".
On the weekends, when I'm running errands, doing chores, etc., I put my hair up.

Long hair (too long right now, I need a trim) that I wear straight (ironed), in a messy ponytail or messy bun, depending on the weather (windy or hot/humid always gets a ponytail/bun). I like my hair long, but don't like it in my face. I'm really not concerned what some in society believe the hair standard should be for older women. I like what I like. I'm 46 .

When it's freshly cut, mine is a chin-length bob with bangs, and I usually tuck it behind my ears. Right now it's halfway to my shoulders. I wash, towel dry and comb straight back, including my bangs. However it falls and dries is how it's going to look for the day. Sometimes good sometimes not so good. When it gets to my shoulders I tend to put it in a pony until I can get it cut. ETA: I totally agree with stittsygirl except I'm 47. => I'm really not concerned what some in society believe the hair standard should be for older women. I like what I like. I'm 46 .

I put it in a loose-ish ponytail and then clip the hanging part up. DH is happy because my hair is long and I'm happy because it's out of my way and not in a tight ponytail.
Eta : I'm 49. The length of my hair has more to do with how often I remember to go get it cut than any conscious decision.

I wear mine down - it is not quite shoulder length (unless overdue for a cut) and I wash, brush it out, and let it dry. It styles itself, but the hairdresser cuts it so that it will.... and it does look quite like the hair on my avatar

Mine is a chin length bob, no bangs which I tuck behind my ears when I need it out of my face. I blow dry it with a round brush and that's it.

My hair is like my avatar, except a little but longer now.
Last year I wore a pony tail almost everyday, but I just didn't like my hair being that long. It doesn't look good on me. But I will wear a pony tail anytime if my hair is long enough.

Chronic illness means mornings suck. I'm lucky to get up, pull on a work polo with black pants and make it out the door. For this reason anything beyond a messy bun is outside my capabilities. I just can't hold my arms up long enough.
So messy bun it is. Every day. Until further notice :-P my energy gets used for important things like consuming food and earning money. Unfortunately hair styling is a loooooong way down my priority list.

I have long grown-out hair and am trying to decide what to do with it now. The back is right below waist length, and my bangs are down to my chin now. I usually wear it down. Once my bangs got too long to be bangs any more, I started parting my hair on the side and pulling my bangs back and securing them with a comb or a clip. I put it up in a bun when I'm cooking or when it would otherwise be in the way, and when I'm driving my car with the top down I put it up in a clip to keep it from getting too windblown and tangled.
I want to go get it cut sometime soon, but haven't had a lot of good experience with salons. Which is why I haven't set foot in one for several years. I'll probably just trim a few inches off the ends, and keep growing the bangs out until I get the courage up to at least go talk to a stylist to see if I feel comfortable with them or not.

My hair is really short so I just wash, dry, and style. I had long hair for most of my life and wore it in a pony tail most days. A few years ago I decided to go short and haven't regretted it yet.

I would say a mix. I blow out my hair every morning so it's down when I get to work, but sometimes I get annoyed mid day and put it up. I often have it up on the weekend.

Shoulder length and straight. Sometimes if it's looking blah I take a curling iron to the ends.
I can't wear a ponytail for very long or it gives me a headache, so yes, I usually only wear one when I'm exercising or cleaning, but I don't care if other people do.

It's not long enough for a decent ponytail. I love the ease of ponytails though.

Ponytail! Probably 365 days a year. It starts out down, but drives me nuts when it gets in my face. I wear a hairband on my wrist for such occasions. At work it's almost ALWAYS in a ponytail. When I wear it down everyone comments. I'm 42, but work at a college, so I guess according to your friends my ponytail is okay.

I don't know what the style is called, but I pull back the hair from my ears forward and put it in a small clip. The clip is on the back of my head. The rest of my hair is loose and straight. I do not like the way I look this way, but it is so much easier than styles I have had in the past. In order to get curls, I have to get perms and I don't want to do that anymore.

I can't pull of a cute pony tail for daily wear. Some people can.... I don't think there's a rule about it, more of it fits a good style I guess (at least in my head, lol)
I wear mine down, everyday for regular 'out in public' wear. It's mid back, just above the bra strap length. Mostly straight, but I'll often add soft long curls to it by my flat iron.
