As I'm about to leave for my daily trip to the grocery store I'm wondering if I am an oddball I'm a SAHM with school aged dd's so I have time to shop daily ... I enjoy it because I decide what we are eating for dinner and then go and buy the ingredients ... almost nothing goes to waste in my house I realize that this is not an option for everyone ... How many days per week do you go to the grocery store?

I go between 5-7 times a week. The grocery store is less than 1/4 mile from us so I've gotten into the *bad* habit of making many small trips. They know me by name.

3-5 times a week some weeks and other weeks not at all. It depends on what's on the menu, what's in our pantry and what we end up buying in bulk at Costco.

Main shop once a week. Top ups for fresh fruit, veg, bread or things I forgot, probably twice.

I hate grocery shopping so I go as seldom as possible. Once a week is more than enough unless there's something I just can do without.

Big shopping, once every two weeks. Then, every 3 or 4 days for random things that run out.

Some times we go 4 or 5 times and there are times we make it through the week with no trips to the store. We go to Costco about once a month. We go tot he store when ever we need lettuce. When we either run out or it goes bad. I don't know what is wrong with lettuce but the past couple years we have had bad luck with buying lettuce.

I go everyday pretty well. The store is only about 1/2 a block from my house. All the staff know my name but then I know their names too.

I go to Walmart on Fridays for some groceries and other things and then on either Saturday or Sunday I go to the grocery store for a big order. I usually go once or twice during the week if I forget something.

Once at most.
Less if I can help it.
I hate the grocery store more than almost anything else. As far as chores go I would rather scrub toilets than grocery shop.

I try to go just once. Most of the time I go twice because I've forgotten a few items.

Almost every day. I enjoy going, and don't enjoy having to plan ahead. I mostly go to a small, independent store and/or Trader Joes.

It's just me, on average I go twice a week. I'd like to go less often, but produce doesn't stay fresh all week... During the summer months I can get away with once a week along with a weekly trip to the farmer's market.

Walmart once a month for staples. Regular grocery once a week after the sale flyer comes out.

Nearly every day I make a trip to Walmart. With Fibro it's easier, and I feel better for me, if I do the daily walking through the store and get a few items. Pushing a heavy cart and loading/unloading a lot of bags leaves me exhausted. I know most of the cashiers by name and chat briefly as I'm processed out.

I make a big trip to the commissary every other week for the bulk of my shopping. I go to Costco once a week, but that's where I buy our milk (organic-best price by about half.) I'll sometimes go to Wegman's or Target on my off week from the commissary for produce and something we ran out of, but mostly I try to do without. It's $50 to walk out the door otherwise!

4-5 days ..it is close, and I don't plan dinners too far in advance. small kitchen, limited storage, small fridge...sometimes I mix it up and go to trader joes, or the independent chains for high quality meat..or a good sale. I have a side of wild caught salmon I froze when it was on sale for $8 a pound. whole foods is very close to me but I hardly ever go there...except for cheese.

We go about every four days. That's a rough average. One trip will be big shopping, the next will be produce and other perishables.

I do the weekly shop online, we have a small supermarket about five minutes walk away so I go maybe 3 times a week to get fresh milk and bread.

I go 4-5 times a week, but not to the same store. Trader Joes sees me when we are out of milk and have a bunch of things I usually get there, a terrific local market is where I buy most of our proteins & produce, and I'm at Costco about twice a month.

Lately, too many... 3-4 trips per week! Which is too many, in my opinion. I find I spend less when I make one trip and don't go back the rest of the week. Recently I have been forgetting items or menu planning for only a few days at a time, which means I have to go back. Of course when I am there, not only do I get the item I need, but I also find items on sale which I decide I need too or something looks delicious so that ends up going in the cart too. I need to start making detailed grocery lists again and buy for the entire week at once. I noticed I spent SO much less when I did things that way and I'd rather have the extra money.
