This afternoon my son-in-law is taking me, my mother, my DD and 2 grandsons to the local steakhouse for a Mother's Day turkey dinner with all the trimmings. Later when I get hungry I have my newest obsession Panang curry chicken leftover from Thursday night to eat.
How about you? Do you have any special Mother's Day plans?

My favorite mother's day plans are no plans at all! We are going to get subs from Jersey Mike's and then we will go out for frozen yogurt later.

My entire family is coming over for a pool party - hamburgers, mac salad, beans, etc. But, it's cloudy and 60F. Soooo, we'll be inside the house with the fireplace going. LOL! But back to your question - Since we'll be having a big lunch, DH and I will just graze tonight. ![:)](//storage.proboards.com/5645536/images/MNrJDkDuSwqIMVw33MdD.jpg)

Well...since I am spending Mother's Day being mom, I get to cook dinner too. ![](//storage.proboards.com/5645536/images/Ivm7lm0DayrhoRpwvCeH.jpg) Funny thing though, since I am cooking I am making MY favorite meal. Which, coincidentally, someone started a thread earlier about your last meal and I am making THAT MEAL tonight because it is MY favorite. So tonight's menu will include BBQ chicken (although, I could also claim that fried chicken is also a favorite) mac and cheese, black eyed peas and maybe biscuits.

Leannec, I love playing Scrabble with my mom. ![](//storage.proboards.com/forum/images/smiley/smiley.png) Dh and dd are making bbq steaks, baked potato, sauteed mushrooms and garden salad. For lunch I had the sushi that was part of my Mother's Day gift from dd. And dh gave me a bottle of one of my favourite wine's which I am about to uncork, and which will go wonderfully with the steak later. I am going to my mom's next weekend for a sleep over and to help her with a garage sale, so we will celebrate together then.

We are having grilled ribeyes, baked potatoes, roasted broccoli and cauliflower and I think corn on the cob. One of the best parts of this dinner is the mushroom sauce for the steaks. I've made this several times, and it is seriously to.die.for; I could drink it straight from the bowl, lol. www.foodnetwork.com/recipes/paula-deen/rib-eye-steaks-with-mushroom-sauce-recipe.htmlIf anyone ever decides to make this, and watches the video--she does not let it thicken in the video (she looks rushed). Let it thicken and you will LOVE it!

My dh is making Oyako Donburi (chicken, rice and egg). Since it's Mother's Day and I cannot eat he's taking over, so, that I can rest.

Dh is in Europe on business, it's just me and the boys. I picked up ground beef while grocery shopping this morning. Planning for the boys to learn how to make and BBQ burgers :-)

I have leftover potato salad and coleslaw from last night so I am going to serve them as part of a tuna salad cold plate. No 'cooking' involved - yay.

I told my kids the only thing I want for Mother's Day is for them to cook dinner and it has to include seafood.
From the bits & pieces I've overheard, it is likely to be a prawn pasta dish with lemon, garlic & wine sauce. I'm 99% sure there will be a salad because they aren't big fans of cooked vegetables. Also overheard DH asking DS if there was any parsley in the fridge and his answer "I don't even know what that looks like". DD then said "Isn't that a seasoning?" as she pulled out the spice bin to look for it.

We were going to go out but this morning we got the sad news that my DH's aunt passed away. So now we are grilling hot dogs, having Doritos and corn on the cob with brownies for dessert.

Mother's Day in the UK was in March, so I made baked lemon chicken, mushrooms, cauliflower cheese, mashed potato and veg followed by strawberries and cream for dessert for dinner.

I have a chicken chili in the crockpot from skinny taste. I'm going to put it over a baked potato. It's supposed to be 5 points per serving (not including the potato and the ton of cheese I will put on it), so I hope it doesn't suck.

We went out for a big breakfast early this morning and then had chicken alfredo with mushrooms and onions for lunch. Dh has to sleep as he is working at midnight so I told the kids it was a YOYO night. DD just came and asked me if I wanted brie, garlic bread and egg rolls. That is what her and her brother scavagened from the freezer. A rather weird combo but I don't have to make it so yay.

We went to my BIL and SIL's house for a small gathering. We started with grilled shrimp and scallops, then there were steamed clams and corn on the cob followed by potato, pasta and garden salads. Finally we had boiled lobsters. Dessert was chocolate cream pie from a local restaurant and some chocolate mousse cake. It was all made and served by the guys. They also cleaned up and did the dishes.
