I skipped out of church this morning and just gave self a pedicure. I plan to spend the rest of the day reading For dinner I have some turkey thighs I'm going to roast and make stuffing, mashed potatoes and gravy and roasted broccoli to go with it. Not a typical summer meal but I've been craving a turkey dinner. I have some cranberry lime relish I made last winter in the freezer to serve with it What are you planning for dinner?

Trying a Pinterest recipe tonight, loaded baked potato and chicken casserole. It has chicken, bacon, green onions, potatoes, and cheddar cheese. Seems easy and sounds good but I have terrible luck with Pinterest recipes in general so we'll see!

My mom's here this weekend, and we're having a barbecue/get together with the family of one of DD's friends. We'll be grilling burgers (beef, lamb, and veggie - something for everyone!), and making a tomato/mozzarella salad and greek salad to go along with it. For dessert, fresh blueberries and strawberries over vanilla ice cream. Yum!!!

We're having tangy BBQ ribs tonight ... a fav of Picky #1 aka dd#1 so at least there will be no complaints I'm picking up some potato salad and coleslaw to go with because I'm too lazy to make my own I'll also cut up some fresh veggies ... celery, tomato and broccoli ... My Mum is coming over early to play Scrabble ... the woman always blows me out of the water

Our baseball tournament was a study in frustration. Due to weather, we essentially made a 7 hour roundtrip drive to play a double header on a high school jv field. We left Thursday, got delayed then rained out. Played 2 on Friday, got up at 530am yesterday, only to have our first game cancelled, and then eventually the second game also. We checked out of the hotel a day early and drove back home. So, anyway, we are home for dinner tonight and hadn't expected to be. I am going to make chicken cacciatore over pasta with bread on the side.

DH is grilling a ribeye tonight. We have beans leftover from last night, and I may make squash casserole. If there's a need for dessert, I made blackberry lime sorbet.

We had Chicken Lombardy which linda linked to yesterday! It was absolutely delicious and we will definitely be having this again. I added some chopped, crispy bacon to the mushrooms and served it with just boiled new potatoes and peas. Dessert was shop bought tiramisu. Thanks Linda!

Chicken club wraps with potato salad and strawberry shortcake. The perfect summer meal, too bad it is 50 degrees here today. It feels like soup weather but everything was prepped yesterday when it was 80 and humid.

Here you go, gillyp... Blackberry Lime Sorbet In a small saucepan, bring 3/4 cup water and 3/4 cup sugar to a boil. Stir until sugar is dissolved. Set aside to cool. Purée 1 quart of blackberries with cooled simple syrup. Press them through a sieve to remove seeds. Then add 3/4 cup freshly squeezed lime juice. (I add a tablespoon of rum to keep it from over- freezing). Chill, then freeze according to your ice cream maker instructions. I got the recipe from www.annies-eats.com

I put a roast in the crockpot last night, then shredded this morning and kept it on warm until after church. We ate it topped with pepper jack cheese on buttered, toasted buns. I also sliced up some peaches and strawberries and added some blueberries for a little fruit salad.

I looked up a recipe for Chicken Tikka Masala. It is in my crockpot now. I will make basmati rice and a naan to go with it... and if it sucks, Panera is three blocks from here.

My son ordered pizza with a friend and my daughter is going out for dinner with her boyfriend so it's just me tonight.
I wanted something real but easy so I made bacon bleu cheeseburger with sautéed mushrooms and roasted asparagus on the side. It totally hit the spot.

Oh, I have some leftover roast turkey warming in the crockpot. I will make some mashed potatoes and green beans to go along with it.
I think I have a can of cranberry in the cupboard too.
It is June, but a whopping 60 degrees here.
