He used to travel 3 out of 4 weeks or more. I would take his suitcase, wash the clothes in it, fold them and put them back in the suitcase. If he wanted more or less than that it was on him. I don't pack for him now at all - that's his job when we travel. I don't know what he wants or needs because every time it's different. ![:D](//storage.proboards.com/forum/images/smiley/grin.png)

No, but we were older when we married and he'd been traveling for business for years before he met me. But I'm not against packing for him if he needed me to for some reason. I could probably come quite close to what he'd pack for any given occasion. He's extremely predictable clothing wise .

Yes. Ever since he showed up on vacation with nothing. Not even a toothbrush or underwear. No, really - NOTHING. My husband is the sweetest, kindest, most wonderful guy on the face of the earth but that man cannot organize or plan anything. I pick my battles and that isn't one that I've picked. I could've written this post verbatim. I do ask him if there's anything specific he wants to take when I do start packing, but his response is, "you've got this..I'll wear whatever you pack".

My DH gathers his things and I pack it in his bag because I am a more efficient packer. If he packed it, he would need twice as much bag space.

You would think that a man who loved his underwear as much as he does , he would.
But sadly I do it.

no i definitely do not pack for him, or anyone else in my family. kids started packing for themselves probably around 9 or 10 or so - although i do give reminders before they pack (this is the weather, don't forget sweaters, this many nice outfits for dinners, extra shoes, etc) - and i pre-approve dh's dressy outfits because he's slightly colour blind & nothing would match if I didn't!

No way. He packs for himself, and when the girls were younger he would pack for them more often than I would. My dh is excellent at making things fit into a suitcase. All I have to do is put all of my things on the bed and he will get them into our suitcase.

Early in our marriage I did until one time I forgot something. He was mad at me for forgetting and bitched so I quit packing for him that trip. Afterwards he brought whatever he wanted to take and put beside the suitcase. I physically put it in because I was better at that part than he was but I didn't question him about his choices. If he forgot something it was totally on him and not me.

Never ever. I pack up me and the dogs but not for him. He's a big boy, his arms aren't broken.

Absolutely not, because I am too damn busy packing up me and the kids. ![:yeahthat:](//storage.proboards.com/5645536/images/yrGoHMAelQz8f2Qt0sjb.jpg) I never packed for DH even before we had our kid. He's a big boy and can do it himself!

No. DH gets some kind of perverse joy out of packing and I have to keep his hands out of my bag so he doesn't mess up my system. And can I just say how much I hate sharing a suitcase. I'd rather take 2 smaller bags than 1 bigger one.

I only pack myself. Everyone else can use my list if they want. The kids have been packing since they were about seven. They got a list. Anything they forgot they went without. We go somewhere fun every year and I think everyone just knows what they need. My husband and I are both pretty good at sharing the paperwork responsibilities.

he brings me his stuff to pack, and I pack for both of us. Otherwise he wouldn't have anything to wear. As one of the previous poster said, I don't fight this battle. He does do his own laundry and puts his clothes away.

Nope, I never pack for DSO. In fact, we always have separate bags. I would have no idea what he packs.

I am almost certain my mom packs for my dad, for all the reasons stated by others. When he did it himself she'd follow behind & rearrange things. Now he just puts out what he wants to take & she organizes the suitcase(s) the way she likes. She may make 'suggestions' ![;)](//storage.proboards.com/5645536/images/Q_m8lDOvc_3Le3r1GKdf.jpg) re what he's taking. Hell, I'll be 45 in October and if I let her she'd still pack for me. ![:o](//storage.proboards.com/forum/images/smiley/shocked.png)

I used to because his work schedule often sucked leading up to vacation and it was easier than waiting for him and I was a SAHM.
But we had a similar argument one day and I stopped. It was like I did all the work for vacation, airline, hotel, attractions, packing...and all he had to do was show up and bitch about something.
I quit packing for him. He asks questions, but if you aren't going to be appreciative, then do it your damn self.

I wouldn't pack for him anymore than he would pack for me.
Frequently he packed for the kids. Why would that be a female task?

Dad also won't load the dishwasher. Any other household chore, he'll pretty much do, but he got tired of her following behind him and rearranging it. Again, she'll come over to my apartment and want to do the same. I swear she's OCD in this area.

Well, he gets it together and I pack it only because his clothes would be a wrinkled mess. Or he would mess up my clothes packing his.

I always did. His idea of packing for a 4 day road trip would have been tossing 4 pair of socks and a 1985 Rainier T-shirt he rescued from the rag pile into whatever bag I was packing.

I do put everything in the suitcase, but HE picks everything out and brings it to me. If it's not in there, it's not my fault. I refuse ( Not that he has any issues with this, but if he did, that would be his problem.) to pick out what he will wear.

No way!! He's an adult, and I expect him to behave like one! DS16 also packs his own bag, while I'm still training DD9. In another year or two, I think she'll be ready!

My dh travels so much for work, he's got it down. I'll make sure he has clean drawers but that's about it.

Yes. Always have. My dh wouldn't know what to pack, how much, etc. I always have. It doesn't bother me. He does so many things for me, why not? Takes me 10-15 minutes.
