Apparently the hey day of studio calico was during my decade and a half break from scrapping. Iβve never been impressed with them but have picked a few things occasionally like stamps and sale Embellishments. But wtf is happening? I looked in their store and their new productβ¦ like what? Ok then. This is bizarre. Iβm Sorry for everyone that did enjoy their products as our scrapping choices just keep getting more limited.

I just went and took advantage of the digital sale. Iβve grabbed all the journal card sets I liked. While itβs not the same as having the physical embellishments as well, I have been enjoying printing the cards I will be using. I also like that I can type on them and change the colors.

While AF and SC stated you will be able to keep your digitals on their site, I absolutely would NOT believe them. Please make sure you've put them on your computer, so they are safe. Also, Happy 1K pages!

I got one kit I didn't have yet for $7 and a few other things that were still a very good price. I'll wait to buy any other kits. And there is a stamp for 2.75 that I can't remember if I bought already so I'll look when I get home and keep an eye on it. It would have come with a kit and a couple I couldn't find images of so I just don't know.

I'm debating picking up a few kits, but not sure if I should wait for a bigger discount. I don't really need these supplies anyway.

I'm debating picking up a few kits, but not sure if I should wait for a bigger discount. I don't really need these supplies anyway. There were bigger discounts on most stuff literally 3 weeks ago. All those die-cuts now marked 2.79 in the sale section were 0.99 each. I distinctly remember because I'd filled my cart (and then passed on the purchase π).

You have always been a part of the heist. You're only mad now because you don't like your cut.

I too miss the old days and fabulous kits, the scramble to buy kits wasn't that fun though. That was actually my favorite part...the adrenaline maybe? But when Scarlett left and April's nasty attitude took over that shine wore off.

They got even cheaper than that at some point recently because I had several diecuts in my cart that were .50 cents! And that holly print TN was $3.something. I didnβt bother checking out either, though. Iβm curious if some really old (interesting/good) kits or products will be unearthed from the warehouse depths soon.

This may be far-fetched, but do you think there's any relationship between Paper Person coming back and Studio Calico closing its scrapbooking doors? There is always buzz in the industry, and maybe Kelly saw an opportunity to fill a niche. Thank you, sleepingbooty. Yes, Studio Calico was once an indie brand! I still have some of their papers and embellishments that I bought on sale when Archiver's closed down. That's all I knew about the brand--there was a certain peaceful aesthetic to some of their supplies. I never got into the kits from their online store, just purchased some stamps and digitals here and there, but it's still sad to know there's one less place to get SB supplies.

I think if she does come back for real (other than just a kit every now and then), I think she will come back under the Inked brand. Kelly has the talent to create products people want. What she lacks is customer service + hands for packing. And Inked can (in theory) do both of those things, sometimes well.

I ordered some documented kits about 10 days ago for $10. Same ones are $25 now. I hate their yo-yo sales.
Also why isnβt my order shipping. I got the generic we are busy doing things email and that it will be delayed.

1000 pages of April fucking over the once upon a time universally beloved and leading indie PL brand, woohoo, time to party (in hell, I guess π€ππ±)! Now I'm reminiscing on the Studio Calico of old. When your kits came in good quality, really useful zippered plastic / vinyl bags. There was such a variety of different embellishments - wood, felt, fabric, vellum, acetate, and probably more than comes to mind right now. And very little shitty plastic wrap, but lots of cute little glassing bags. Patterned papers that were thick and luscious. And a variety of speciality papers - foiled, embossed, vellums, printed acetates. Each kit was so unique and so much fun to unpack and use. Sigh.
