The Sc board is so dead, they have to be worried. I felt like posting in the PL thread something about why they are asking for feedback when they have no intention of following any of it, but I am just not going to post there anymore. I also wonder what big changes are happening for Pl, you know something is going to be changing there too. I wonder how long it will take them to change to main paper size, I agree with those of you that said that is going to happen so they can save money. The 800 lb gorilla in the room is why is that shipping thread still open and active yet that thread from yesterday got locked? I think everyone is avoiding the issue. And though I broke my silence (that statement makes me giggle for some reason) yesterday, I think I'll go back to not commenting over there.

The whole thing is just so ridiculous And my kit shipped last night, it never ever ships the first day, I'm international and not rewards. They have to have lost a lot of subbers for mine to ship 24 hours earlier than usual I like how I see comments like "thanks for packing and shipping extra fast!" They didn't change their speed! They just don't have as many orders to get through! It is NOT a good thing (for the company) that non-rewards domestics shipped out the first day of shipping. Yes, people get their goodies faster but for the state of the company they are putting their money in? Not so awesome.

As a non SC subscriber, I just have to weigh in on the Card Kit. Wow, that is truly horrible!
Run away, people! If Elsie Larson is the new design standard, there is no hope. She is successful, but to me everything she does looks like a child's craft project.
(Cue the online Elsie defense machine. She has a big crew. She needs one.)

I do use pencils daily, but not all pencils sharpen well in my electric sharpener. I definitely wouldn't use one to write a letter or send a card, though. For those who like 9x12, how is that size paper different than 12x12 (other than those 3 inches)? I get that 6x6 or even 8x8 pp usually has a smaller design, but is there that much difference in design size on a 9x12 sheet? I'm sure shipping would be easier for 9x12 papers than 12x12. What's wrong with just trimming down a 12x12? ETA- and welcome, jjwalker9183! Glad to have you here- don't worry, we play nice.

SC sure loves to delete posts.
A PL subber asked about the Double Up section and only ONE person commented with a link to the locked 'acrylic house' thread.
POOF! That one comment thread is gone.

I haven't ever subscribed to SC, but I do like (some of) their items when I see them in my regular SB store... That 'stationery' kit is horrible; I feel sorry for cardmakers, too. And a question regarding the paper size (I didn't want to try and find the answer myself, since I think the SC website is horrible to navigate)-- are they really not shipping 12x12 paper any more? What about all of us scrappers out there who buy their papers in brick and mortar stores? or are the papers you're talking about quote-unquote exclusive only to subscriber kits? oh, and by the way-- welcome to the refupea pod, everyone!!

On the surface, though, it's not a completely off-the-wall decision. They know that Scrapbooking, as it has been, is shifting, changing, and transforming. The old ways are easing out and unless you go into my LSS you won't really find the soccer-ball print paper and very late 90s stuff. (Ok, I love my LSS for what it is, but trendy can be so hard when online delivers asap, I get it. They stock what they sell, and what they sell is, apparently, what companies like SC aren't producing anymore.)
They're trying to diversify, branch out and grab new members, and make it a broader hobby. Planners and stationery, and I'm going to go out on a limb and guess at a wrapping paper line at some point, and a home goods branch as well. An 'artfully curated collection' of coasters, trivets, wall art, diy items for the home. That'd be my bet.

I just cancelled my PL sub. I was wanting to hang in there until December but it's like the SC bad behavior will not stop for anything. We can't even ask questions? Comments get deleted. Threads get locked. The kits are not what they used to be. The people in charge over there feel so fake when they post anything. I can't find shit in the shop anymore. I do not understand how anyone can find anything they are looking to buy there. I would be so happy to spend my husband hard earned money SOMEWHERE ELSE and not feel like I am being treated like a child. I am 40 years old for goodness sake! I feel so happy to be done with them and they can just treat someone else like a child but it won't be me. I am going to download all my class and digital things and I will never visit that horrid company's website ever again! I am deleted it off my favorites and bookmarks. SC YOU SERIOUSLY SUCK! What a bunch of A**HOLES!!

Hmmm. I went to see if anything was posted about the December Daily at SC. I wanted to see what it looked like. I got on the message board and read an entire thread about people wondering when their kit would ship. People were posting about it packing and shipping like it was a million dollar check. Small hysteria. It made me laugh. I am sure that if I owned a business where I could read an entire thread from people who were just thrilled about the shipping date or lamenting the fact they have to wait two more days I might be pretty full of myself. May I ask what the draw of SC really is? Is it different for different people? I am assuming it is the exclusivity of the paper or cards. I just don't get the adoration of it all on the message boards. Happy or excited to see it in the mail? Yes. That makes sense.

I cannot believe that Ali is teaming up with SC to deliver the DD kit again. EVERY year SC effs something up with that kit! I can't wait to watch what they screw up this year!

I remember way back when, there was a smallish stationery store in my area. They printed wedding, birthday, graduation, etc. invitations. They sold unique greeting cards. Fun little funky trinket stuff. Then, they branched out into scrapbooking. They had unique scrappy products from companies you didn't read about in CK. It was such a fun store to go into. The industry is shifting back, lol. Maybe, just maybe, scrapping will come full circle after branching out into stationery.

I love Ali and I've done DD two years now. It's such a fun project and I really enjoy having her kit available--it simplifies things. I know my purchase of the kit means SC gets some part of that profit and that they're in charge of packing/shipping...but I am hopeful that if orders are taken earlier in the fall than last year, that will leave more time for any mistakes to be fixed before December 1st.

Last year the dock strikes were horrible. I remember driving down the east coast in NY and NJ and seeing hundreds of thousands of containers that were just stuck. Hopefully this year the product will get to where it is going on time. But here's the thing… Christmas comes every year on the same day. No surprises. December is always the same too. If you know you have a huge demand for a product, why don't you start making/packaging it earlier? Have it finished in September and ready to ship in October so that people who actually want to do their DD can do early or at least on time. Just my two cents.

I don't think she has a choice. She signed on with SC and DD is provably owned by them too. It is a shame as I think she is better then SC and I worry that it is just a matter of time before their lack of quality control effects her too.

Back in December, the draw for me was that I really liked the style of the products and the price fit my budget. I spent a lot of time looking at other kit clubs and they were either too pricey (Scraptastic) or too..."floofy" for me. Then I started participating in the community and, honestly, that is truly the draw. The excitement from fellow members is infectious. It's easy to get excited about shipping when all the other board participants are as well. But, dang...you are right! Here we are, freaking out and fawning over items we don't even have in our hands yet! No wonder their ego is so large...we have made it so by our obsession! but, that thread you speak of is much smaller than months past. That's gotta worry the powers that be. Just not as many obsessors.

Just my two cents.I'm 99% certain SC doesn't have a calendar. They were also surprised that August's reveal landed on a Saturday and didn't have enough staff on hand to handle customer issues and IT issues. Maybe I'll send them a calendar and a dictionary for Christmas.

bethanywmi here ! I took my photo off at SC thinking i could post and not be locked or deleted as quickly, by then i think it was clear only good comments would stay. So glad to be here and see many SC members. I dropped both PL and SB about 2 months ago while i could without all of that sub no sub and by this date and here is preview but wait you cant see it because you havnt joined that specific sub and on and on it goes. Sheeesh ! they are playing with a loose cannon ball. It has to blow at somtime ! Yup it sure is quiet over there. I feel bad for the newbies. But then they wont know any difference unless they have been involved with another kit club. I will get my photo up as soon as i can figure out. Did i say it sure is nice here ?

So, I follow quite a few kit clubs and various scrapbook supply companies on IG...and this may be purely coincidence but since SC announced they were getting rid of their card making kit, I'm seeing TONS of card features from these companies. OA, Scraptastic, Neat and Tangled (which makes sense since they are a stamp company) and simple Stories just to name a few. There are even more that I've noticed. Coincidence or trying to nab unhappy SC customers? Clever, either way.

Oh these poor people that are signing up with no idea what they are getting into! I so badly want to say "Run!" But of course the boards are back to happy happy joy joy posts and oh thank you so much SC for doing your job! Ugh! The boards over there are starting to just make me sick. Why do I still go? I have no idea!
