Hi ladies, nice to see familiar names here. Has anyone tried elle's studio? I was looking at their kits tonight and they are really nice. Also is it just me?. I went looking at the member gallery on sc tonight and seems like more pages are being posted by ct members from other companies design teams. Made me smile :-) I've ordered a couple of Elle's Studio kits. No issues. They're definitely economical. I just haven't used them, so I stopped ordering.

I really want to try Lawn Fawn inks. Are they a different formula than Hero Arts or does anyone know? I also want to try Memento Luxe. I have had luck with some SC inks but not all. Honestly my favorite inks are the prima chalk inks which are small and inexpensive. I really like the Momento Luxe. They're giving Mama Elephant some competition for my favorite pigment ink.

So, here's one for the books... I ordered a brown Traveler's Notebook cover maybe a month ago, since I ordered the red one, and it's not red - it's magenta, and I don't like it. Since I was ordering, I added the card cardstock (this was the kit that came with no cardstock). And I get a note saying that the TN was sold out. But they shipped me $3 worth of cardstock for whatever my shipping fee was ($3.50 or something). So I paid $6.50 for $3 of cardstock that I wouldn't have ordered if I wasn't getting the TN. This has happened to me several times in the 6 months I subbed. Crazy. This is why they don't do proper inventory control, in my opinion. They WANT to oversell popular items because they know you'll be tempted to throw in an extra or two of something they can't move. This is also why they don't notify you BEFORE it ships. Only once you have it in hand. You'll be less tempted to say "just cancel the whole thing then". There is no reason on their part to do proper inventory control or customer service, because they are weasels, and just want your $3 at the risk of losing your business.

I still order there. I haven't found anything else that's quite my style. But I won't preorder (burned by Baxter) and I likely won't do a mid-month order after that experience. Not to bring up bad memories, but what happened with Baxter? I've seen people reference it but I missed that debacle.

I cancelled my subscriptions to all three kits back when it all changed after Galileo. However, I decided to give them a chance and order some stuff this month. I ordered enough that expedited shipping to the UK was only a few dollars more than economy so I paid for expedited. The box arrived Monday minus a chunk of my order (add-ons bought at reveal and some shop stuff) I've waited two days for a reply to my conversation and this is exactly what I got back: I'm sorry for the confusion with your order. In reviewing this order I see that this was shipped out separately via Economy shipping. As you ordered this during the bundling period I am unsure why this happened. I can assure you that this order is making its way to you.
Please let us know if we can assist with anything else.
No apology. No how can I make this right? Nothing.
They messed it up for themselves. I was trying to give them a fair shot not to mess up before I reviewed them for my kit review series. No longer. I'll be reviewing based on this experience. Won't that be fun?

how did you cancel? i tried (by conversation) six days ago to cancel and early this morning my cc was charged for another month. i added another comment to my convo earlier today and i have still not heard anything. am i doing something wrong? kellyv did you have any luck? You don't need to start a convo to cancel. If you go in to your account, there is a button there to click. You'll get a pop-up asking if you're sure, but it is very easy. I promise. I've done it several times now.

So let me get this straight. You paid for expedited shipping of all of your items yet they separated the orders out and shipped half of it via economy? Wow. I'd be asking for a refund on shipping. That's ridiculous.

Random Question (sad I have to ask here because they'd lock my thread over there): I received my items with that little note saying "sorry we ran out so we sent you a note instead and kept your money. we'll reach out to you soon".... What.The.Heck? Is this what goes on over there? You don't ship me what I've paid for, don't tell me, keep my money, and then tell me to wait for you to contact me?! *deep breath Gabi* So, when this happens, do you all normally reach out first or does someone eventually contact you? once contact happens, do they just issue a crappy store credit? I really don't want that because all its going to do is be eaten up by shipping (i'm west coast and it takes over 7 days if i don't do some type of rush shipping). I've never heard of a company doing these types of things and if they did... they aren't around any longer. I started a conversation regarding my issue and didn't hear anything back, so since they allow you to pay via paypal now, i filed a paypal complaint for non-receipt of my items. This is ridiculous.

That's ridiculous. It's not worth it, I'd be charged to receive a refund. It it is what it is, and my protestations will undoubtedly be ineffectual in any case. All I can do is vote with my wallet like I should have done in the first place. My friends tried to persuade me to review based on Galileo and it was my being stubborn and wanting to review based on the new system that allowed me to be screwed over so more fool me. However, I won't be sugar coating my experience so hopefully it'll make a few people think twice before subscribing in future.

I started it up because I didn't know who I wanted to sub to after SC, I couldn't find a really definitive overview and review of all the kit companies so I figured I'd just do it myself. It's actually taken me by surprise how well received its been, I only expected like 20 views

There is a video on You Tube by LF introducing their inks. I'm tempted to try them. There are some really pretty colors!

I've seen a couple of your reviews as well and thought they were great. I'm also shopping around for a new sub, so it's great to see everyone's take on different kits.

I thought neat and tangled handled that great. I will shop there again

Yeah, Big Picture Classes lost my business when they were bought by SC. Also not a fan of the subscription model. If I want a class, I'll pay for the class. One and done. It's mind boggling to me how SC has stayed in business. But there are lots of companies like this, that have terrible customer service but people still just flock to them and support them anyway. This! I was horrified when I found out BPC had been bought by SC. And that they went to subscription. I loved my BPC classes and have taken a couple of sc ones that made me truly wonder if they even know what a class should be (the planner class from Marcy whatserface.... I still can't work out what part was meant to be a teaching moment..... buy a planner, work out what you want to keep track of, add stamps hardly seems to be "teaching"). There was no way I was staying with BPC once sc took over

A little update on my Ali WITL drama... I insisted in my convo that they bump up the shipping of the new binder, because I am international and it would take forever to get here by economy. They did, which was great, and I got it yesterday. Oh happy day!
This morning I pulled out my WITL kit to start setting it up. I opened all my little packages... And I have two wood veneer Tuesday's, and no Thursday. <facepalm>

There was an old BBC programme "one foot in the grave", the lead character was an old curmudgeon whose signature phrase when faced with bad service (often accompanied by a facepalm) was "I Don't BELIEVE it!". I think we need a new emoticon with his face on it to use and reuse on this thread. You have my sympathies.
