I wonder if it's even worth bothering to tell them...I don't subscribe so I won't have another kit they can ship stuff with.

Yes! Tell them. They need to ship you the product that you paid for.

A little update on my Ali WITL drama... I insisted in my convo that they bump up the shipping of the new binder, because I am international and it would take forever to get here by economy. They did, which was great, and I got it yesterday. Oh happy day! This morning I pulled out my WITL kit to start setting it up. I opened all my little packages... And I have two wood veneer Tuesday's, and no Thursday. <facepalm> Oh crap! Just checked mine. Same thing.

I started a convo, too. We'll see. I paid for a full set, I want a full set.

My wood veneer is correct but I was short one page protector. I was supposed to have 7 of the one with four squares and I only got 6. I started my convo.

Now I'm going to have to double check mine. I looked at everything when I received it - even took the veneer's out of the little baggie and I think they were all correct but now I can't remember!
I took all my WITL photos this past week and was going to start some album assembly this next week, so hopefully they are all there!

All those WITL botch-ups are just mind boggling. I don't think I've ever come across another place with such appalling quality control.

I sent them one and said i was baffled why they wanted actual proif. I am asking for a 10 cent wood veneer not a whole kit. They were very snippy about it, but I got my Thursday a couple of days ago.

Or any other preorder for that matter. Between my last SC order and WITL, I have had to start FOUR convos over errors and quality control issues. That is ridiculous.

Shifting topics... Can someone explain to me how that Darcy collection is worth $60? Especially since they are hyping the album as "free".

Just purchased the sketch bundle at SC and noticed this info box during the signup. I had to laugh when I read it since somehow, since I haven't heard of any of you getting any phone calls.

I double checked my WITL stuff last night and mine was correct. But it's crazy how many of you all are having issues!! It shouldn't be that hard to pack those kits. They're all the same and it's not that many items.
I work for an office supply company and we offer school kits to two schools in our area. We provide a box to students who order one with all the supplies their school requires for the new year. It's a HUGE project (we packed about 200 boxes this year), but my boss has his three kids help pack the kits with me (they're two 12 year old twin boys and their older sister). There are over a dozen (sometimes two dozen) items per box, but they do a great job with the packing. They double check themselves and they double check each other. In the past three years they've done it, I don't think I've ever had the school say a box was missing something. THE KIDS ARE 12 AND 18. And they could do this project wonderfully. I know SC packs many more kits and I know there will be an error or two--everyone's human and mistakes happen. But THIS many over SO many years is silly. Get organized and do it right!!!

Wow. If they switched the main scrapbook kit to 9x12 papers, don't you think even more people would cancel?? I don't feel like I've seen all that many traditional layouts in 9x12. Have you? I'm doing my PL this year in that size and love it, but I'm not doing regular layouts that way.
For Darcy, it's a cute kit (no kids for me, so I don't need it), but considering the album is 'free' I think it looks like a pretty good deal. Here's what I would guess the the individual items would go for:
-9x12 Paper Pad (2 - 18 single sided designs), $15 -4x3 Journaling Cards (30), $7 -Subject Stickers (3 sheets), $4 -3x3 Die-Cut Journaling Cards (30), $7 -Phrase Roller Stamp, $4 -4x6 Transparency Overlay Journaling Cards (12), $10 -Cork Die Cut Shapes, $4 -Memorabilia Attacher Stickers (4), $3 -Washi Tape Stickers (4 sheets), $4 -Monthly Transparency Dividers, $12
Total: $70
I don't know...maybe I'm way off in my price guessing, haha! I tried to think of other comparable products and what they generally go for.

I could definitely see them moving towards 9x12 papers as the new norm for their paper collections to drive us towards their albums. It wouldn't bother me too much (provided the price reflected the smaller format), but they need to keep those darn page protectors in stock. It's ridiculous how long it takes to restock them. Perhaps they should stick to US manufacturers to avoid shipping/port delays.

I am so very glad I am done, I really hope Ali gets out or takes more control and doesn't let SC handle anymore than they already are of her brand.

It sounds like people are getting push-back on getting correct or unbroken product. I hate that if you're a subber, they make you wait until the next month to get a replacement. I would love to know how much control Ali really has. I know someone mentioned that they had been told they'd have to wait to receive a replacement piece until the next month's shipment and Ali commented that that was not the response they should have received. I don't know if she could back out even if she wanted to. Who would pack the monthly story kits, WITL, DD kits, etc.? SC does all of that. I'm sure that's what's enabling her to offer a lot of the newer things.

I've also just switched to 9x12 and love it. I've previously done mostly 81/2 X11 or A4 layouts so this feels pretty similar. I decided to go with the albums so I can do PL and regular layouts in the same album and mix them up.

I tried to think of other comparable products and what they generally go for. My feeling is that most people, at least who upload at SC, use a white card stock background and don't require a full 12x12 sheet. They still give one 12" length to use as a border or part of a page. I don't see many full-size prints used as a background. I still prefer the 12x12 sheet, though. I might be able to get on board with the 9x12 sheet if the scale of the pattern is reduced because I really love the scaled down 6x6 pads and those are gone unless they show up as an add-on. It was my favorite part of the card kit. And I think your guesses on the cost of individual items is just about right after looking at the new Dear Lizzy and Amy Tangerine lines. BTW, those two lines are on sale now at Blue Moon Scrapbooking - just saying!

My WITL was all intact - had all the right veneers and all the right cards. The only "mistake" is the one Ali already addressed (the backwards days of the week on the chipboard heart). I've been pretty lucky with most all of my kits and purchases, personally, but because of all the issues I read about (and who knows how many that I DON'T read about?) I'm always worried that my next purchase my luck will run out. That should be concerning for any company.

I scrapped 8.5 x 11 for years...I like 12x12 now and that is what I scrap. I upload to the gallery all the time and my last 10 uploaded layouts: 8 are a 12x12 patterned background, 1 is a white cardstock background and 1 is a kraft background. 9x12 papers would drive me crazy. Sure I could use them for layering, but not for backgrounds...I NEED PP backgrounds.
