I would not have paid and it would have really pissed me off if they had made it a pay to post site.

No. However, I did occasionally buy product, since they let me use their message board for free. I didn't shop their much, because they were always out of stuff.

Someone asked that a month or so ago and I had thought a lot about it. Sure I would have paid $20-$25 a year for the message boards, easily. ( spent more than that on club penguin when my kids were young )

Think about it you pay for magazines, coffee, apps. A few bucks here or there wouldn't be a big deal but in return you're gaining a community and wealth of knowledge. Absolutely no! I've never paid for an app and I think I've bought coffe 3 times! I believe if there was a fee, we'd have been here much sooner.

Yes. I would have paid to keep it open and use it. Another board I am a member at just took donations to cover the fees and it was paid for in full in a few hours.
Now as a new member just joining 2 peas, probably not, unless I could see it or do a trial period and see if I thought I'd like it.
But as a long time member, YES! My dh pays to be a member of a sports forum and would totally understand the $ and not have a problem with it. And I'm one of the suckers that paid for the exclusive cricut circle memberships. LOL!

I pay $3/mo to be a member of another board. I'd have paid that, or up to probably $5, for Two Peas. The thing you have to remember with a paid board, though, is that the membership will be much more limited than a free board. Thus, less traffic and less variety. The way the board I pay for works is that anyone can be a free member, but paid members get some extra privileges and access to other areas. ETA: I think the way to do it for Two Peas, if they wanted to go to a paid model, would be free for message board access, and then a small monthly fee (no more than $3) for access to the gallery and Garden Girl content. That sounds good. I was a member of another 'refugee' board when some scrappy friends of mine got banned from UK Scrappers. There were only upto 100 members tops and people gradually fell away (if you didn't post for any length of time an email was sent to say they would be removed from the group if they remained absent - we did this as we posted very personal stuff and the membership was closely monitored to maintain trust). The forum was being hosted on one of the ladies' business servers and the addition of our gallery was costing them so at that point we did give a small annual fee just to help with that.

I would have been happy to donate if they asked for voluntary donations.
If they started a paid membership, I wouldn't have paid. It would have totally changed the nature of the message board.

Naw, I don't think so. Even though it was my home for so many years, I think I would have bid it adieu.

Probably not.
I don't buy coffee, only buy magazine subscriptions when kids are fundraising (and don't renew them), don't DVR or have Netflix . . . it's just not an expense I would incur.
That being said, I totally understood their need to make money and never minded the scrolling ads.

I would have the first year and then reevaluated. I would have paid up to $25 for a year.
I thonk they could maybe allowed you to see the gallery and the titles of posts, but only specific full threafs. Free week trial and an option for months membership

No I wouldn't have paid to be on the message boards. I wouldn't have minded something like having to buy products in order to join, but way back in the day I did buy stuff from two peas, so I contributed somewhat. I stopped buying when the shipping charges were through the roof.

Honestly, to the owners of that board with the same management running it, no. I would pay if it were self-governed, like this is, the price was reasonable, and the membership count high. If it became too exclusive and the board lost its essence, I wouldn't.

I'm not sure, on one hand yes but on the other hand there would be a possibility of a board, such as this, forming. My only incentive to pay would have been as a pp mentioned, access to the galleries and so forth. This about sums it up for me as well.

I would not have paid, I used to buy product, but in the last year or two things just didn't spark my creativity anymore. Or they were sold out.

Yes I would have paid a small annual fee because as a PP said, I had invested do much time there. Plus I really found it invaluable as far as input on products, places and info for traveling and suggestions on what books to read! As well as the entertainment factor with hair flips, arguments, trolls, etc

I've thought of that since their closing. I posted very little but I was on there several times every day. I believe I would have agreed to pay a small fee but I like this forum as much or better and am so glad someone directed me here.
