$1/month is really very, very little per person, but with all the members would have added up. I'd have paid that!

Probably not for the message boards but for the videos I would. Not per each but $2-$3 month to access all the videos I would do

I would have probably paid as much as $5 a month to keep the boards and site going.

I would probably have paid no more than $1/mo. So glad that it turned out the way it did, tho.

Nope - btdt on another board years ago. It failed miserably and most people left when someone started another forum which was free.

I would have paid a fee for the boards & galleries.

Probably not. Splitcoast is free, photobucket is free, and, if I want to eat popcorn and read crazy troll commentary, the comments on yahoo articles are also free.

I'm on the fence about this. I think I would have waited a period of time to see how successful the board was before making a financial commitment.
I made the foolish choice of joining the Cricut Circle when it first debuted. Totally bad investment.

I went through this at That Home Site 12 years ago. They switched from free message boards to paying for a membership. A nominal fee wouldn't have been a deal breaker for me, but it is for a lot of people. So a lot of the community ends up leaving and the feel of the board never is the same.

I agree with MaryMary--it just doesn't work because too many people won't do it and the board is never the same.
