I would probably not. Although I may reconsider if that is an option to keep threads and gallery open..

I may have. Honestly I'm surprised they didn't look into just selling off the message boards. I would think they got enough hits each day that it would be a good investment for someone.

I pay $3/mo to be a member of another board. I'd have paid that, or up to probably $5, for Two Peas. The thing you have to remember with a paid board, though, is that the membership will be much more limited than a free board. Thus, less traffic and less variety.
The way the board I pay for works is that anyone can be a free member, but paid members get some extra privileges and access to other areas.
ETA: I think the way to do it for Two Peas, if they wanted to go to a paid model, would be free for message board access, and then a small monthly fee (no more than $3) for access to the gallery and Garden Girl content.

Probably not. I'm trying to watch unnecessary expenses now that I'm retired, but even if I was still working it probably would've been a hard expense to justify to myself.

As much as I loved 2ps probably not and it wouldn't be the same place if it was only paid subscriptions it would have been a lot smaller and then not worth it. Now the videos I could see paying a small fee to watch those.

As a long time member, to keep from losing it: yes
As a new person, unsure of what it was: probably not.
I think it would have made them money up front, but not a regular, sustainable source of income. It would also have changed the dynamic of the board (which may have made it better, but it wouldn't have been the same)

I don't think so. I would have been sad about the loss, but would not have paid to stay. Besides the fact that the board moved fast and was so informative, the other big draw was that it was free.

No. I think if that was the case, we would have ended up here just a little bit sooner.

I probably would have paid a small one time fee but not a monthly subscription.
The first thing my husband said when I told him about the news was, "What do you expect? It's a free message board that no one paid to use. Big websites like that cost a lot of money and with no one paying to use it, It couldn't last forever." I told him that they introduced ads a number of years ago but apparently that didn't work.

I would have if it was like $1 a month or something. With so many members they could have made it cheap.

Think about it you pay for magazines, coffee, apps. A few bucks here or there wouldn't be a big deal but in return you're gaining a community and wealth of knowledge.

Probably not. If I factored in the costs and the amount of time I spent there, it might even be worth it - but it would just not be something on my radar to pay for, if that makes sense.

I probably would pay a reasonable amount simply because I had invested so much time into that place ...

I'm not sure, on one hand yes but on the other hand there would be a possibility of a board, such as this, forming. My only incentive to pay would have been as a pp mentioned, access to the galleries and so forth.

Although I stumbled across the 2Peas NSBR and have never been a Scrapbooker, Yes I would have paid to keep the knowledge flowing. In my 2 years on Peas I have learned so much about America. I have also learned that my ideas are not always the best ones, I have seen some really lovely moments and some really lovely women and the Peas have really changed me as a person.

No, I don't think I would. I would have supported the shop more if the shipping to the UK wasn't prohibitive.

Probably, I really learned a lot from the group. It would have had to be low and I would have been OK with advertising as well.

I probably would have paid $2-$3/month, that's what I pay to be able to access the alumni section of another board I belong to.

I have never paid for an app or a game. I also stopped paying/buying magazines years ago. There are too many free message boards out there. I do belong to two that have paid/not paid memberships and I don't pay for them either.
