I still don't think he means he'll force it by law or anything, but who the hell knows with him? I guess he'll have to tell us how he plans to accomplish that! Heh. Before we get over the hurdle of whether he understands we couldn't HAVE a law like that, I need to be convinced that Mr. Trump understands that presidents don't make laws. Maybe he'll try to have "Merry Christmas" inserted into the Pledge of Allegiance...or maybe the Citizenship Oath. No, wait: the Presidential Oath of Office: "...so help me God. Merry Christmas. Play ball!" And then we'd all eat apple pie. And, I am sorry, but I will speak for all dairy farmers say that I am offended, OFFENDED I tell you because you neglected to mention ice cream for your apple pie. My PAC will have a commercial addressing this right away. Look for it.

I've seen this going around with a few friends on Facebook who are all twisted up. Less line for me when I order my twice seasonal peppermint latte. My faith is bigger than a paper cup. I've seen a surprising number of friends on my Facebook who are all twisted up and they're not twisted up about the plain red cup; they're the people responding to those who chose to be offended by a plain red cup. From what I've read, there are very few people offended by the plain red cup yet if one is to believe the media hype, the majority of Christians are offended. As I read the things posted by the responders, I can't help but wonder if they realize that they are making themselves look as foolish, if not moreso, than the few that choose to be offended. The insults, holier-than-thou attitudes, and lack of tolerance make it appear that these people either (1) are intolerant of opinions other than their own or (2) are easily manipulated by the media. Naturally, there are those that live for occasions to show the world how superior they believe themselves to be and they didn't disappoint this time. If they only knew how they really look. If someone wants to choose to be offended that Starbucks has chosen to use plain cups this year, what skin is it off anyone else's back? Why choose to respond to them? Why not choose to scroll past and indulge in lighthearted fun? Or direct your energies to something that truly matters? If you celebrate Christmas, whether secular or religious, you know it's the season of peace and good will; how about the next time someone's choice is different than yours and doesn't affect you in any way you extend a little of that peace and good will and choose to scroll on by and keep your opinions to yourselves. And if you don't celebrate Christmas, how about extending peace and good will just because it's the right thing to do. Let's save our vocal outrage for the things that matter and stop letting the media be our puppetmasters.

Makes you wonder why Breitbart ran with that idiot's video.....they must have wanted to stir up shit. And how. Their members are still screaming about it days later. How does one come to the conclusion that this was a purposeful move by Starbucks to offend Christians, promote a communist agenda, and bring down America? I'm concerned for some of these people.

Well, let's be fair to poor Andrew, he dropped dead while on a walk back in 2012 but the website's staunchest followers believe that Obama had something to do with his death also. Yes Really.

So, I've been waiting to see if the resident idiot on my FB feed (who I keep around solely for the yuks) was going to comment. Hate to say, but she wasn't always such a rabid conservative right wing Christian nut job, but she changed when she moved to South Carolina and changed from being Roman Catholic to some storefront born again crazy Christian stuff. We can count on her for kneejerk idiocy if it involves religion. So we were waiting for her to throw her cup of idiocy into the sink. She just did. Ah, the contentment of the expected outcome.
Yes, she is deeply offended that Starbucks doesn't have Christmas graphics or words on the cup. Just as she is deeply offended about her local mall. Why? Because... wait for it... take a breath, squint your eyes.... her local mall last year didn't have Santa on duty at all times. Why are these choices of a private company so offensive? Because both actions are marginalizing, diminishing, and disrespecting her religion. And she has a RIGHT, she tells you, that HER religion be the focal point of decisions and she can't handle the way her religion is being treated. It's a war on Christians and religious freedom and no one in modern times knows the trouble Christians are experiencing in the US under Obama.
Because, as you know, Santa being on duty at the local mall at all times is an essential part of being able to function as a Christian in our society.
She is also going to vote for Trump (which was a huge dilemma for her because as a native New Yorker she really did not want to vote for someone from New Jersey originally) because he's going to "bring back Christmas."
Oy vey.
The best part of it was when a mutual Jewish friend decided to do some FB education on her sorry ass.

Dunkin' Donuts is bound to have lines out the door for its Joy cup. I would have been tempted to wait a week before releasing it, if I were DD, just so it would look like it was in response to the Starbucks red cup.

I didn't remember a few things about Starbuck's until my son mentioned it and then I remembered and started laughing. He wanted to know why. This is what I told him.
A few people are complaining about a plain red cup when the logo is a nasty mythological creature that lured people to their death. Plus, they are named after Starbuck, the first mate in Moby Dick. Starbuck was a Quaker and they didn't celebrate Christmas back then and some still don't. Out of all the stuff about Starbuck's they could be offended about they choose a cup that they specifically change for Christmas.
