OMG, it's clearly a Christmas cup with the red and green. People need to calm down.

Well, those evangelists have to stay relevant somehow, now that Kim Davis is no longer big news. Gotta keep that PR machine churning, whip the masses into a frenzy and all that...

Starbucks cups used to say Merry Christmas?
Bet I'll notice the red though!

As a Christian if my faith is determined by what is or isn't on a cup, billboard, etc then what does that say about me and my faith. Isn't my God bigger than that object?

As long as my drink is made the way I like it, I don't care about the cups.

Because it can't be Christmas without poinsettias and snowflakes. Good grief.

I doubt their decision had anything to do with religion ... It was probably in some marketing meeting where someone said, "Meh, we did snowflakes last year ... What can be new, different and reuse at Valentines Day?

They need to get over themselves. How can they not see the idiocy of using disposable red cup as a sign of war on their faith? Absurd. They are making themselves irrelevant.

What a ridiculous thing to get in a froth about. It's a cup with a hot beverage in it, who the hell cares what's on it? Some people just want to stir up trouble.

I didn't realize this was a faith issue. IMO, if I'm going to pay a salary to a graphic artist for their talents I don't want a plain red cup. Plain up with no design I can do and save my company a large chunk of special seasonal design budget.

You know when dogs tilt their head when you're talking to them as if they are trying to understand what you're saying? That's how I read the article. It must be a slow year for the war on Christmas if this is what they chose. Morons. Sheer and utter morons. They try so hard to be relevant and then pull stupid stuff like this. Morons. The worst part, is they can't fathom why people are laughing at them and don't take their message seriously.

I really liked the simplistic style of the cup on my last visit and actually made a comment about it to the barista. Clearly I'm a heathen.
But I find as I get older, I prefer simple designs and minimalism.

Once again, the media is making a big deal out of nothing. I have yet to meet one person (Christian or otherwise) that has any issue whatsoever with these cups. Seems like a small group of people had a fit and is looking for attention, so it's turned into some big uproar. Why does the media feed these people? Why? because it generates hits, which generates income. 90% of the media anymore leans more towards tabloid journalism.

Of all the things on the planet to get upset about, this is not even on my list.
I also think there is no war on Christmas--except in the small minds of some folk who just want attention of some kind.

I will miss the old cups. Because I like the festivity of the cup. I like fun cups. Just like how I love it when Newks changes their cups to honor awareness or seasons (they have pink in October, red in December and Teal in another month that escapes me right now.

I've seen this going around with a few friends on Facebook who are all twisted up. Less line for me when I order my twice seasonal peppermint latte. My faith is bigger than a paper cup.

In no way does that aspect of the story make the story itself less hilarious. I mean, someone actually said the words "Starbucks hates Jesus." That shit is funny. It just is.

I am seriously so done with people who feel like they have exclusive ownership of a holiday and need huge corporations to acknowledge this exclusive ownership via marketing practices and product design. If I was Christian, the last thing I'd want would be for a huge corporation to be using my religious beliefs to further their profits.

The more appropriate title for this article is "Two Christian Evangelists Upset with Starbucks Cups." The opinions stated by two people off their Facebook statuses does not speak for an entire group of people. They state that the one Facebook status has 8 million views. That is "views", not "likes". I am a Christian and do not know a single person who would be upset by this cup design. I don't feel like Jesus is being hated on just because there isn't a snowflake on the cup.
