Good Sunday morning Pokeys Today you get a photo and a quote. This is what it looks like out my craft room window. I could not open my storm door so I literally had to take the photo out my window, so sorry for the screen. Roads are closed in eastern New Mexico this morning. I had not intended to post a photo, but I thought I would share our pretty snow day with the Pokeys. out my front window-1 by Maribeth and Jim Robison, on Flickr I spent yesterday de-decorating my scraproom, and I have been getting stuff re-organized this morning, as well as working on few projects. I found this quote and I really liked it. I think it really says how I intend to approach 2016. Each new day is a blank page in the diary of your life. The secret of success is in turning that diary into the best story you possibly can. Author: Douglas PagelsI hope all the Pokeys are well today, have a great day whatever it is you choose to do with it.

Wow Maribeth I can't believe that snow your area got. We had 60 degrees and rain. Hope you get your door open soon! Here are the two sympathy cards I made over the weekend. 058-2 by Cindy Blair, on Flickr 061-2 by Cindy Blair, on Flickr If you would like more info on what I used on my cards I have added it all on my blog which I believe is in my signature! Hope to get some scrapping done this evening-have the kids today. Maggie and I are going to be taking an online cake decorating class today that came with the gingerbread house kit. Be back later!

Good Monday morning Pokeys SNOW DAY! - Hopefully anyway. Spoke to the boss last night after congratulating him for his team (Arizona Cardinals) massive win over my team (Green Bay Packers), and he said "You don't need to bother to go in to work in the morning" Well great, but does that mean all day or just the morning. Let me tell you nothing is going to go on today. Everything is closed down here. I am sure no contractor is going to be working today, and I don't think there will be any accounting issues that can't wait. So I will find out a bit later if he meant all day or just the "morning" Quote for the Day: "Winter is the time for comfort, for good food and warmth, for the touch of a friendly hand and for a talk beside the fire: it is the time for home." Author: - Edith Sitwell
That sums up how I feel about today.
scrapincin - Your cards are wonderful, I may have to "cardlift", the one card I have struggled with making is sympathy and get well cards. My cards always tend to be more "fun loving" in nature and it has been difficult for me to show a more sedate/formal card. Thanks you so much for sharing them. Everyone's projects are always so inspirational. Have a wonderful time with Maggie and your online class. I just love learning new things. Enjoy your day, and I hope you get to scrap some this evening.

Good morning Pokey Folk- It was so nice to have a week of 60-70 degree days in December, but back to 25 degrees today. Oh well. I'm working today, while the rest of the family is off to appointments and errands. DH has the whole week off. He's been cleaning out his workshop and starting a new model boat. scrapincin I am totally scraplifting your cards. How did you know I was about to make some sympathy cards for my mom and hadn't a clue what to do. Thank you! They're very beautiful. BTW My mom loved her gift of homemade cards. She made a few special requests and her birthday is next week.

Good Tuesday morning Pokeys
Off to work today after yesterday's snow day. Have to do payroll so the peeps will get paid by Thursday so they can cash their checks. Won't be much going on with all the snow we received, boss said we will probably do a "short day".
Quote for the day:
“The best way to appreciate your job is to imagine yourself without one.” Author: Oscar Wilde
I hate to admit it, but I hate going to work, I so wish I could retire, but since that is not possible at this time, today's quote reminds me that without my job (which is actually better than most, I wouldn't be able to buy SCRAPBOOKING SUPPLIES, not to mention clothes, food, utilities,...... - LOL.
Have a wonderful day Pokeys in all that you choose to do today.

Good morning Peas! I did get some scrapping done last evening. Ever wonder what to do with those cards you received for Christmas? You don't really want to discard them-especially the handmade ones. So I started scrapping a pocket page every year that holds the cards we received for that year. I add an extender on each side to add the depth needed to hold the card. I add this page to the special Christmas album. card holder by Cindy Blair, on Flickr I was flattered to know that some of you will be lifting the Sympathy cards I made! That is what it is all about-sharing the inspiration. well need to get moving so I will be back later!

I am so behind. In order to get 19 people into my little house for Christmas, we moved furniture into the scraproom, making the computer inaccessible. The kids seem to be able to play games on my ipad, but when I try to read my email or get on this site, it kicks me off in just a few minutes. It keeps trying to connect to some HP printer in the area.
We had a crowded, but wonderful Christmas. We don't usually have ALL the kids here at the same time, but they worked it out so they could all be together this year. (except Anj and family in CA) Then Sunday was our grandson's farewell talk at Church as he leaves for an LDS mission to North Carolina. So, another big get-together. Luckily we were at DD's home and she has lots more room!
Today the "grands" are coming for Cousin Camp. They will stay the rest of the day and overnight and into the afternoon tomorrow. I hope we can find lots of fun things to do. Because Anj isn't here, there will only be 5 ranging in age from 8-14. I think they will leave Alex (3) for part of the day today, but he's too young to stay overnight. Then....I think things will really settle down until school starts again.
I hope you all had a wonderful Christmas and a Happy New Year's Eve. I'll wish you all a happy new year when I post the new thread.
It is 15 degrees today and we have 5 inches of snow with more coming. Our DS and DD who live closer to the mountains north and south of us have 18 inches. What a strange weather pattern when it's nice and warm in the East.
Well, it's nice to catch up a bit. I'd better run make sure I have things ready. I will post a new thread on Friday. Seems like the last 2 months just sped by.

Happy Tuesday! I hope you all are doing well today. I hope to get some scrapping started today. I got my pictures and ready to go. Now that Christmas is over I plan to get back to my home deco projects. Will keep you posted.
Maribeth - You really got some snow. I hope you are staying warm and toasty. I enjoyed seeing all your holiday decorations. So fun!
Nylene - So happy you are feeling better and was able to host your family for Christmas. Your dgks are going to have a ball with you. Such great memories they are creating. Wish Anj could be there. Waving hello to her. Also, thanks for the lovely card and I hope you got mine too.
Cindy- That card page idea is so neat. I must try it out and such a great way to keep the cards. Also, how did the baking class go with your dgd? What a fun thing to do. After I watched some of those cake decorating videos I can't wait to try it.

Good Wednesday morning Pokeys
Today I feel just Yucky! No motivation, not my normal "happy" self. Can't put my finger on why. Hmmmmmm! So I found this quote befitting my mood today.
Quote of the Day "The best way to cheer yourself is to try and cheer someone else up." Author: Mark Twain
So Pokeys I am sending you cheerful thoughts, and hope your day is filled with laughter and joy!

Happy Wednesday!
Maribeth, love the photo of the snow. We love the look of the "enchanted" snow, before the animals or we get out in it and muck it up. Hoping you can get your normal happy back because someone as sweet as you deserves to be happy!
Nylene, hope Cousin Camp is lots of fun and goes well and doesn't wear you out!
Cindy, I will be cardlifting those. I, like Maribeth, have difficulty with sympathy cards. I will also be scraplifting the Christams card pocket page. Love that idea. I've just thrown them in an 8.5x11 page protector without any ceremony and placed them in our family album. So I really like the pocket page idea SO much.
Maryann, I knew your Mom would love her gift. Those cards were all so fabulous.
Yesterday, I had my 46th birthday. In anticipation I pulled my craft desk back out, even though it has to go back for continued construction next Monday, but ended up working on building out a calendar for my faux midori planner that I'm making for the coming year. We finally got enough snow that the kids went sledding after my birthday late lunch/early dinner while I sipped wine by the fireplace and chatted with hubs. Alone time is a rarity these days, so it was very nice.
Does anyone set New Year Resolutions? Care to share. I'm typically not a resolution setter. But I'm debating setting some goals but not starting until February since the contractors have at least 2 weeks and then we'll need to paint and such.

But I'm debating setting some goals but not starting until February since the contractors have at least 2 weeks and then we'll need to paint and such. Not so much resolutions, but goals. Of course I have pretty much already talked about mine here. Start my blog, and blog actively. Participate in more online scrapbooking sites with challenges and other types of contests. Get my in-progress projects done or up-to-date. For non-scrappy goals. Use my home made planner to keep better track of things. As I am getting older and also because so many bills are paid online I forget when I actually paid a bill, so I want to be sure to jot stuff like that cause hubs always asks and then I have to dig through my pile of printed receipts etc, this way it will be right in my planner. Also remembering appointments, not that I forget when I have them, I forget to make them, like my hair appointment, I forget to make one until my hair REALLY needs attention.

I am escaping cousin camp for a few minutes and then we are going to a movie. It has been fun. The grands are getting older and don't need as much supervision. They are all addicted to "screens", so when we are tired I give them screen time....peace and quiet for a while. LOL! maribeth , I'm sorry you are having a down day. You are always so upbeat and positive. I am sending you virtual hugs to cheer you up. Your quotes always make my day better. Look at all your snow! Do you usually get that much or is this an unusual year. LisaDV , my oldest daughter just turned 46 in Dec. too. Happy Birthday to you today! Hope it is a great day for you.
maryannscraps, I'm sure you have enjoyed having your DD home for Christmas. I can't believe the fluctuation in temperatures for you. From 70's to 20's. Brrr!
kellyr21 , I love the card you sent. You do such a great job with your girl figures. I copied your instructions when you described how you do it, but I haven't tried. It turned out so cute.
scrapincin , I think we have a group of copycats here, or maybe I should call us "inspired by" scrappers. I plan to scraplift both of your sympathy cards and Christmas card holder too. I'm so glad you posted them here. Thank you!
New Year's Resolutions: pretty much the same goals I set for myself each Jan. 1. Lose weight, declutter, write my history, read my scriptures daily, be kinder, etc. I do well on them and then some seem to slip away. I don't beat myself up about it anymore. I just start over again even if it is midyear.
Well, the natives are getting restless. I'd better run. Be back later.

I always call mine goals and set them whenever so have not done a "resolution" since forever. They fade by the wayside, the important ones I'll start over and over again throughout the year. But I have so many scrappy things I'd like to accomplish this year as well as a plethora of home things. I'm thinking I should do a plan and some project management around them.

Good evening Pokeys! Happy Belated Birthday Lisa! Hope it was as special as you are. We do not have snow yet-just rain and gray skies! I have to say the highest compliment is to have you scrap lifting my cards and pocket page. You used to be able to purchase those pockets but I liked making them so the PP would fit with the theme.
I too call them goals and not resolutions! My biggest one is to get organized around here. I have left some things slip with my health the past year or so -so need to get caught up. Also to eat healthier and get my body back to a healthy state-lose weight and exercise more. I am trying to revive my blog-give more detail to my posts with photos etc. I am behind on my scrapping.
well I am going to try to hit the scrap room tonight so will be back later-I do not have grands again til Monday!!!

Hey ladies! So glad to see so many of you here and hope you all are having a nice evening. Its been a good day here and actually just finished scrapping some holiday pictures. Not sure if the page is done but maybe tomorrow I will see if there is anything more to add. I made a mini album card too for my in-laws and I love the way it turned out. So I will post these soon. I am getting a micro cord so I can download the pics from my camera phone and I can't wait. We got new phones a few months ago and I love taking pictures with it. It is so much better than my old camera. Nylene- Oh, I know you all are having a ball. Yeah, they are getting up in age now so I guess they can cook and help the younger ones. Keep enjoying and I know it is great medicine for you. So glad you got my card and hope it brighten your day. Lisa- HAPPPPPPPYYYY Belated Birthday! Sounds like you had a great time. Hey, we are close in age. I am 48. A few days ago, I saw a picture in my college alumni magazine referencing an event from when I was there, 30 years ago!!!! I was like omg, has it been that long? I am getting older but geez it didn't seem like that long ago. LOL! Keep enjoying and wishing a super 46th. Cindy- Glad to hear the snow hasn't come yet. There will be lots of sports on these several days. We got our USC tonight. Ron was happy to hear his Eagle's coach was fired. Maybe they will be better next season. Maribeth- Hope your day brightened up. Sending you a little virtual Cali sunshine.

Kelly & Cindy, thanks for the birthday wishes.
And, Kelly, I do the same thing - I think oh, I've only been out of college 5 years and then BAM someone (*cough*cough* husband *cough*) reminds me it was 25 years ago. How?

Wishing everyone a very Happy New Year! Have one football game today. One was last night when 2 of my favs played each other-Alabama beat Michigan State-so sad but one had to lose! Hope my scrapping gets started off on a roll for the new year sometime today. Lisa & Kelly I just had my 68th birthday but I am still in my 20's in my head! LOL
I was bummed a little yesterday when I got an email from Scrap Orchard that they were closing. They were a digi store that I found thanks to Tammy and had some of the cutest digital products ever. But it also was another scrapbooking store gone. Did we have too many or what is going on that this continues to happen?
well hopefully will be back later with a project of some sort creative piece!
