My menu has been all over the place this week. I did make my brown rice stir fry last night, because the night before I made chicken tortilla soup. Tonight my youngest requested gyoza and steamed rice. So, I'll make a mac and cheese for my ds who won't eat gyoza. I can't imagine not loving gyoza, but I'm just the chief cook and bottle washer. What's on your menu today? KelleeM, I'm sorry that you're under the weather when you went to see your beautiful new grandchild. Sometimes life is unfair. I hope that you'll fly home to a heaping bowl of chicken soup and feel much better. After my mom became a grandma she used to say that she had us in order to have grandchildren. Have a wonderful Thursday everyone.

Never heard of gyoza (off to google).
I have made pizza tonight (4.30 pm here), with a topping of ham, red onion and creme fraiche (and spices from a box, ha!). I'm thinking something banana split-y for dessert, I fell on the ice today and the impact messed with my old neck injury, so I really need some dessert today.

I'm thawing a steak, which I plan to stir fry with cabbage leftover from Tuesday night. I'm thinking a little soy and ginger should flavor it right up! It's funny that you mentioned gyoza, scrapmaven, because DH loves them with cabbage. That would have been alternative dinner tonight. We love them! Both of my DILs can make them from scratch. I'm in awe! miominmio, I hope your neck feels better quickly! KelleeM, are you feeling better?

Doing a beef stir fry tonight with brown rice. Not my family's favorite meal, but it's easy and I still don't feel great.

Never heard of gyoza (off to google). Gyoza is a Japanese dumpling. It has chicken, pork, shrimp or beef w/cabbage, carrot, onion, small micro-sized pieces of veggies. It's fried and yummy. I hope I described that sufficiently.

I hope I described that sufficiently. Found some recipes -- these sound yummy! I am thinking these would be a great addition to our Super Bowl menu! I can get wonton wrappers at my regular grocery store, but I have a really good Asian market near me -- I'm guessing they would have the real gyoza wrappers?
As for tonight -- Thursday is our fast food night because I pick DS up at the library and we usually go eat right from there. I let him pick where we go, but I might gently push him toward something other than McDonald's tonight! He loves Subway so maybe that.

I am trying to stick to the menu I made at the beginning of the week, because if I don't follow it, why bother making it in the first place?
So.....according to the menu we're having roasted pork loin with onions, potatoes and carrots, roasted butternut squash, steamed broccoli or brussels sprouts, applesauce, and rolls. And that's what we're having!! There's enough apple crisp for dh and everyone else can choose from other dessert-type things available.

miominmio Ouch! Hope you are feeling better soon!
We're going to have sweet and sour chicken with diced pineapple/peppers over steamed rice.

Geez, who the hell knows I'm leaning toward chicken fajitas because they are relatively healthy and dh is trying to lose weight ... dd's won't eat them though so there could be an update from me later

Breakfast for dinner, which has been my go-to meal of late. Scrambled eggs, hashbrowns, grapefruit and wheat toast.

Thursday is usually pasta at the Twisted house. Tonite it's w/Knorr Parma Rosa sauce. Green salad if I think to make it. Went grocery shopping today and nostalgia made me buy Jell-O Oreo pudding. Used to buy it for them when they were younger and then I stopped being able to find it. Saw it today and couldn't resist. Guess you could call that dessert, lol.

No clue if the recipe for tonight will be good or not, but the photos on the blog look pretty Sante Fe chicken and lentil casserole, which I think I'll serve with quinoa and roast veggies

Ugh. Do I have to fix dinner? Again? Didn't I just do that? I might be doing that Sam's run today to get a chicken. I am not sure. Following this thread for ideas. Lisa

Beef stroganoff over mashed potatoes. I know stroganoff is usually served over noodles, but I've got some potatoes to use up. I'll probably make some lemon pepper broccoli as a side.

We like the Knorr's Parma Rosa sauce too! I haven't made it in forever though-the boys loved it with cheese tortellini. I think I am going to be a bit ambitious tonight a try to make quiche. I don't have a lot of cheese though, probably only a half a cup, so hopefully that won't matter too much. I do have some caramelized onions that I plan on using (I froze them last week) and who the heck knows what other vegetables that I will find in the freezer. Can't say the boy will be happy about the whole quiche thing though. My guess will be a resounding no way and a trip to Publix for a sub will be in his plans.

Chicken sausage, potato, red pepper, onion, celery, carrot, garlic, Italian herb soup. I am having trouble saving it for supper - delicious.
And some kind of bread. Maybe cheese muffins.
Thanks for the thread.

Well, I did leftovers last night instead of breakfast cause I am lazy. BUT I did get my dresser cleaned and organized, so there's that.
I found in the fridge this morning 2 English muffins. I will make SO's daughter egg and cheese muffins with bacon on the side. I will have a poached egg on toast with bacon and hash browns.

I can't imagine not loving gyoza Well, now that I know that means pot-stickers, I agree! I've started working on our Super Bowl menu. The main challenge is that it will just be my husband and I which means I really shouldn't fix 6-8 different appetizers and yet... I'm having a hard time eliminating anything. So many favorites! As far as dinner tonight, I have no idea. Today is my birthday and DH has something planned, but I haven't been let in on it yet.
