I'm currently 10 lbs under my ideal and I look sick and skeletal (I am at this weight because I have been very sick). I have no muscle tone and literally no ass. I will look and feel a lot a better once I gain 15-20 lbs and regain some muscle. FTR I'm 5'10" and currently weigh 133lbs. My bone structure is small to medium as in I have very thin wrists and long thin hands but my hips to ankles are thicker. I'm not really pear shaped normally, more hourglass, but I've always had oddly thin wrists. Currently I'm just flat as a board.

I am a very small frame, so it would leave me a little pudgy at the formula weight. That said, I would love to see the weight the formula says I should be.

That would be how much I weighed when I was 10.

I was way too skinny when I weighed my "ideal" weight according to this formula. I am not small framed or boned. I have always had large wrists, large shoulders and hip bones, and had size 11 feet before I was 12...my feet did shrink to a size 10 in high school.
Even at 5'7" and 160lbs I was a size 8 with no butt and huge breasts. I had so little butt that I had bursitis in my hips because there wasn't enough fat to keep the joints from rubbing when I sat down.
I'm happier at a size 10-12. I do need to lose about 30-40lbs, but I have such a hard time eating a lot of food because I have so much nausea and if I eat too much when my pancreatitis is acting up, I vomit. My metabolism is shot. It sucks because I love vegetables and lean proteins and can't digest much of it.
I wish I could eat healthier and lose the weight, but my doctors just want me to eat whatever I can so I can stay alive and not starve.

It's about exactly right for me.
I'm not 'low musculature'. I run every day and I'm not tiny - certainly don't look sick or too skinny.

I am currently at goal weight according to my physical therapist which at 5 foot 3 inches is 125 pounds. He did some calculations one day when we were talking about weight and I asked him what my goal weight should be. I wear a size 6 or a small. My parents look at me and say I can't loose any more weight. I have small shoulders and tiny wrists, small feet too-I wear a size 7. According to that formula I should weigh 115. I don't think so. I don't think 10 less pounds would look good on my frame. My doctor thinks I am good right where I am. I'm 55 years old.

Noooooo way, but mainly because I lift weights and have a lot of muscle! Yeah - I want to think that, too. I'm 5'2" and weight around 125, so my extra 15 lbs are muscle and boobs!

According to that, I should weigh 95 lbs. I haven't weighed that little since before I started getting my period. I think what I've seen more recently about what my "ideal" weight should be is closer to 115 lbs. I think I would be super skinny if I weighed that much. I definitely weigh a lot more than that!

Yes. If the 6th grade counts. ;p
Even in high school, where I was at my fittest due to playing sports every day, I still weighed 20 pounds more than that formula.

At 5'4" I would not feel comfortable weighing 120 lbs, and I really don't feel my best over 110 lbs. I've only weighed more than that during pregnancy. I don't have people telling me that I look too thin - I run and weight train, so maybe having muscle helps. IDK

I'd look emaciated if I weighed 115. I've always been "solid" and weigh more than I look. I hate these things, anyway...everyone is built differently and there's no one formula that can determine an "ideal" weight.

Ok I am build like a line backer, Not a small frame 5'10 and at 295 right now. I am hopping to drop under 200 soon. But where that put me . I am not sure how I will look. Heck i shoulders would not fit in anything under a 1x

Those darn boobs probably weigh 10 pounds by themselves, so if you don't count those I probably would weigh 110 which would put me at ideal according to this scale

by that rule I should be almost 7 feet tall at my current weight. So really, the problem is just that I'm way too short!

My weight does not fall in range but i need to lose 10 lbs and I'll still be 5 lbs over this. My excuse is I'm all torso and no legs and it's obvious that torso is heavier than calves

For my height I should weigh 100.5 lbs. That weight is enough to get psych services and an intervention involved. I would be skeletal and very unhealthy for my body structure. At 110 I had people worried. At 100 it's gross. I mean sickly skinny and not that attractive. Is it normal to have your ribs sticking out and being able to count each one of them? That is me at that weight.
I am fat now and am hoping to lose a lot of the weight I gained over the last 2 years. It might be difficult to do, but I will do it. I like my tiny body.

I'm about 5 pounds less than the calculation. I started working out & watching my diet feb 1st so before that was pretty much correct.

Ideal for a teenager maybe. According to that I should be at 110. I'm right around 130 and short of 6 days a week in the gym and a very limited diet, I'll never weigh 110 again. I'd be happy if I can maintain 125.
I wear size 4/6 depending on brand.

That formula tells me I'm WAY too short seriously though - I'm 5'8" and when I was wearing a size 4 - I was a good 25 lbs heavier than the formula allows. I'm no longer wearing a size four...

I'm below (by about two inches) but I'm not 'skinny' either. Nor do I have small bones and no musculature. Quite the opposite, actually.
I guess people just all wear their weight differently. <shrug>

None of the above. At 5'1", I'd be horrified if I weighed that LITTLE. When I had defined abs I was closer to 125. I come from stout stock! This is me too. At 5'1", I don't think I have ever weighed 105 pounds. I currently weigh 120, but would like to be more like 115. But thinner than that? No way.

Can I just say that for us gals over 50, the saying "At a certain age, you have to choose between your face and your ass" holds true.

I am close. I am 5'8" so I should weigh 140 and I weight 148. However, I think I am heavy! So my ideal weight is around 135. That is when I look and feel the best.

I am 5' 9" and weigh 138 but have a medium bone structure-----I think it really depends on the person, as many of you have said. I like my weight but wish I was more toned below the waist----I am a runner but it does nothing for toning---at least for me. And re: clothing sizes, there is so much vanity sizing right now----a size 4 is more like a 10 back in the day (70's and early 80's). I think Juniors sizing is a little more accurate, but still bigger than in the olden days when I was a teenager

It's a very simplistic formula so it can really be used only as a guideline. There are too many other variables that aren't taken into account, like frame size. I've seen it before though, and as far as a general guideline goes, I think it's decent. I'm medium framed and not overly muscular so for me at 5'6", 130 is a good weight. I weighed that or a little less up until my early to mid 20s and I was neither thin, nor chubby. Now, I am nowhere close. If I got down to that again, it would be a shock, but I think it would be a good weight. At this point in my life, I'm shooting for 20-30 pounds over and I'll be damn happy if I hit it.

I just had a baby so, uh, no. However that is pretty close to my ideal/goal weight. I am 5'3" and would love to be 115 again. I still had boobs and curves and muscles so it is good weight for my frame.

So 5'5" would be 125 lbs. LOLOLOL I can only wish I weighed that again! Last I weighed that I was about 18.

That would put me at 130 which for my frame is really skinny. I was around that in high school and could fit into a size 4, but I'm big busted so it makes me seem to top heavy to be that small. The 150s is ideal for me I think
