No it doesn't. And at 5'4" and 120 lbs I'm almost skeletal. I know that from past experience.

No, I've never weighed that, and I've been within 5 pounds of the same weight since I was 13 (not counting pregnancies of course!). My personal opinion is that formulas are hogwash that don't take into account frame size, metabolism, a whole bunch of things.
I would like my weight to be different so I'd look better, but it's just not going to happen. Apparently this is just what I weigh, forever, lol.

Should read: For fine-boned women with low musculature. I fit that category. I'd be ok at 5'2" and 110. I don't remember weighing between 80 and 120. That is, I don't remember weighing myself and being 90, 95, 100... I just apparently didn't step on the scales during those jr high years. I was just 120, and on up suddenly. Once in high school, I got down to 114 on a lunch diet of Tab and crackers. If I got down to 110 now, my face would really show my age. I'm way overweight now though, and it helps me to look younger.

That would be too skinny for me. I weigh about 15 more lbs than the "ideal" but wear a size 0 or 2. I'm good with where I am.

I have never even been close to that weight. I'm a big girl. Even in my younger more active days, I weighed 25lbs more than what they "recommend". I would look gaunt at 5'7" if I weighed 135.

Can I just say that for us gals over 50, the saying "At a certain age, you have to choose between your face and your ass" holds true. Ha ha ha that's awesome!

Oh dear Lord!
That formula puts me at 130 lbs. I'd have to starve myself to maintain that kind of weight. When I was 25 I was that weight, but three kids and quite a few years later? There is NO way I could weigh that and be healthy.
I'm in the process of losing weight to get healthier, but my ultimate goal weight is about 160 - that keeps me comfortable, and able to not stress about every little thing I put in my mouth.
I don't know who designs these things, but dang! I found another online, and my top ideal weight is 154 - and even that was pushing it for me at 40.....I was lucky to hover around 160 back then!

Add me to the ladies that are 5 feet nothing. I should not weight 100 lbs. My boobs alone would push me over.

I'm 5'11" and my ideal weight is 155. I used to be that weight until I had babies, got older, developed back problems and hypothyroidism, etc. I need to put myself on a good diet/exercise program and have been meaning to do that for some time. But stress/life keeps getting in the way. I think this formula shows a pretty accurate goal for me.

I am 5'1"----- The only time I was near 105 lbs, I think I was in the 5th grade---and even my very thin doctor thinks 130 is a nice weight for me.
Who invented this crazy formula? perhaps the makers of Barbie?

I once fit in that weight range - I had been sick for months. It didn't look good on me, other than on my wedding day LOL. I also know what weight I can maintain and that is nowhere near the number.

I voted "I wish; I weigh more than that" but I don't really wish that weight... if there was an 'other' I'd have voted that instead.
I'm currently obese by BMI calculations but for my height (5 ft 4.5 inches) tha formula in the OP would require me to only weigh 122.5 lbs. I don't think I've weighed that little since, maybe, high school? I'm pretty sure that weight would be way too low for me to maintain.

I am 5'6" and currently weigh 130. I am considered underweight by most standards, so I am actually suprised to see myself right at an ideal weight. I am happy with myself at 130 and worked hard to get back to this weight, but I have always been on the lighter side, so most people my height would not be ideal at 130 if that makes sense.

So I would be 110. No way!!! I would look so sick being that thin. I do come from a heavier family. I weigh 125-130. Size eight. No boobs, so that doesn't count for any weight!!

I think that formula should have an asterisk that it's *best for girls under 25 years old. I've heard it before and use it as a very general guideline of what a thin woman "should" weigh. I generally mentally add 10 lbs or so to it if they are over 25 though.
I'm 5'4" and my goal weight right now is 129- just to be able to be out of the 130's. Once I get closer to it I'll adjust it either up or down when I see what my body is doing then. I'm 18 lbs away right now.

I'm also curious how other peas who are at or below this formula are feeling after some of the comments on this thread.

I weighed that when I got married. Now, 15 years later, I weigh 20 lbs more. I have more muscle now, but I'd also like to lose 10 lbs.

I do exercise a lot and lift weights, so I am not trying for the entire 10. I follow athletes who are my height, who weigh less than I do and look so strong, so I know it is possible to lose and still look healthy. When I was 10 pounds heavier than now, it took candid pictures of me to see that I needed to get in shape. My weight settles in my stomach and I looked round.

Some people my height look great at 110, but the last time I weighed that much, I was a size 0 and was all muscle and bone. That's not realistic for me to maintain, especially at 44 years old. 120 is the lowest I'd go. I'm ok at between 130-135 right now, but I'd like to eventually get to about 125.

Regardless, I agree with whoever said that formula is probably way too general in that it doesn't take into account someone's frame, level of fitness, etc.

I don't see anyone making observations about you. I see a lot of people saying that the guidelines do not apply to them because they have big bones, which are heavier, a mesomorphic build, so more muscles which are heavier, etc. People differ in their body types. That's just the way it goes. I always wanted to look like a ballerina but I don't. My build is stockier--more like that of a gymnast. Both are incredibly fit but they just look differently.

No. That formula seems very off! I am 5'2" and that would have me weighing 110lbs. and I would be skeletal. I weigh 135 right now and wear a size 4. I can't imagine what I would look like at 110.
