We finally watched John Wick 3 tonight. I have been waiting and waiting to watch this. Was so geeked after the 2nd one (which I Love). I didn’t love it. I thought it was too long with not enough plot. It started off good. But then it was just action sequence after action sequence. And no story. I don’t care for Halle Berry, and her scenes felt superfluous to me. Same with most of the scenes of the guy from the original Iron Chef show. Didn’t like his fan-boying at all. I am glad we didn’t go see this in the theater. I would have been annoyed. We watched John Wick 3 on demand last night and I hated Halle Barry in that part. She was horrible. You thought it was her first acting gig. So poorly acted. I agree worth the Iron Chef guy too. His fanboy moment was weird. I thought Angelica Houston and Lawrence Fishbourne were great though. I still like the franchise and look forward to the next one. I’m def in it to the bitter end! I really like Keanu Reeves in this role, and overall I like the story arc over the 3 movies. I’m just bummed the movie didn’t live up to all the hype in my head. 😄. Angelic Houston was great, and Lawrence Fishburn plays this role so damn well. I love his character. I love the theatricality of his character. Everything he says is big and grand.

Yesterday we saw Peanut Butter Falcon and Overcomer. We saw Peanut Butter Falcon first. There were some really slow moments but overall it was a sweet movie. Right after that we saw Overcomer. I was worried about seeing them back to back because Overcomer was the longer movie and I was afraid I’d get to antsy sitting so long. I was pleasantly surprised by Overcomer and found myself tearing up several times throughout the movie. Overall we enjoyed both movies and would recommend them to others.

pierkiss I love the whole "Rules and consequences" aspect of their underworld. How the little old man sewing up his wound had to stop right at 6:00pm when Wick became Ex-communicado. How merely touching the steps of the Continental grants you immunity from getting killed. What privileges that gold coin will buy you. Being beholden to someone who holds that medallion thingy with your bloody thumbprint (why can't I remember what it's called???). And don't get me started about that entire retro office that keeps track of all the criminal files and contracts in people. Love it all!

I saw Zombieland last night for the first time and I loved it! Zombieland 2 (or whatever they call it) comes out next month and I’ll definitely see the sequel. Woody Harrelson is hysterical and he has great chemistry with Jesse Eisenburg. If you want a funny, lighthearted zombie movie, definitely see Zombieland.

It’s all so good and fascinating. My favorite scene out of all 3 is from # 2 when he goes to see the Sommelier and the Tailor. (It’s called a marker. I’ve seen 1 & 2 so many times. 😂).

Have you seen Sean of the Dead or Life After Beth? Both are also pretty funny (though Beth is a weird type of humor).

That's it! I watch the back to back marathons on tv too. Strangely enough, it's great white noise when I'm crafting . Lol. That Alice Cooper song "Killing Strangers" is perfect in the first movie. crazy but the sommelier and tailor scenes are my favorite scenes too. "Enjoy your party, Mr. Wick". And when the manager of the Italian Continental gives a sigh of relief when he learns he's not there to kill the pope. Or when the New York Continental gives him a car as an apology for the commotion that Perkins caused him in the first movie.

I saw Zombieland last night for the first time and I loved it! Zombieland 2 (or whatever they call it) comes out next month They filmed parts of Zombieland 2 about 2 miles from my house for about a week. I expect the movie to be loud because we heard a lot of loud BOOMS for several days (they put up signs so people wouldn't be calling law enforcement - haha). We finally saw Downton Abby. It was good and when we left we said it felt like we watched the Christmas Special at the theater

DH and I saw "Judy" and thought Renee Zellwegger did a fine job considering how iconic Judy Garland was. Renee did her own singing vs Rami Malek who was dubbed for "Bohemian Rhapsody," though Malek had more years to cover and did so briliiantly. The last year of Garland's life was portrayed, along with some flashbacks to her breakout teens played by a young actress. We enjoyed it.
We also liked "Brittany Runs a Marathon." Our older daughter is a distance runner and is part of a running group and she saw it too and liked it very much.

We watched the Joker last Saturday. What a great film. Joaquin Phoenix was excellent in that roll. Totally believable as an incel, outcast, victim, villain. I hope he gets nominated for an Oscar. He was that good. The movie was a great take on the whole Batman series.

DH and I can see why Melissa McCarthy got an Oscar nomination for this movie "Can You Ever Forgive Me?" www.youtube.com/watch?v=UvJIaNsf_bYWe love seeing comic actors do dramatic roles! We had only seen her as the cheery, bubbly gal on "Mike and Molly" (miss that show!) Oh, and we DIED LAUGHING when she played Sean Spicer on "Saturday Night Live!" This role shows her acting chops, AND such an interesting (and true!) story. We watched it on Netflix OR Amazon Prime---I can't remember. Trailer: www.youtube.com/watch?v=UvJIaNsf_bY

We went to see Ad Astra last night. We thought our power would still be out so I went ahead and bought tickets during the day. DH liked the movie, I wish we had stayed home and watched This is Us. To me it was sooooo slow. And what the hell was up with the space monkeys?! I had hoped they would show up later and add some spice to the movie.

To me it was sooooo slow. We went to see this last weekend and left half way through. It felt like a more painful version of the First Man plus I kept falling asleep. I think we're going to see the Adams Family over the weekend.

I watched Escape Room last night. It is a horror movie. About Final Girls/Boys being hand selected to compete in a series of escape rooms. I thought it was going to be really ridiculous, but it was really Good! Like, so good where I was glued to my tv and not multitasking like I usually do to make sure I caught all of the details. Also, it is not gory, which was surprising. Spoke die of course, but it’s not like Hostel with the gore porn, which they could have easily done. They leave a lot up to the imagination. I was surprised by that.

I saw Hustlers the other night. It was surprisingly enjoyable. I went into it with very little info and didn't even realize that it starred JLo. Holy smokes, that woman looks amazing. Saw Ad Astra also, and omg, that was one of the most boring movies I have ever seen. Ever. Snoozed through probably a good half hour of it and didn't feel like I missed anything. My only lasting thought from that movie was that poor Liv Tyler is always being left behind when her dude goes to space.

Another thumbs-up for Downton Abbey! We never watched it on TV so the little five-minute intro was very helpful.
Ad Astra didn't suck. That's the best I can say about it. So, since Downton Abbey was my pick, DH said it didn't suck.
I guess that's our love language this month

With winter approaching I thought I would go through this thread and see if there were any good movies I can watch during the coming cold months. I now have a list of around 150 movies of all genres (excluding horror) to keep me occupied. Once again the Peas come through.I hate winter with a passion, so this list will be a godsend to my sanity!

My favorite movie so far this year is Good Boys, a coming of age flick that will have you alternately laughing and crying. Treats relationships between tween boys like you NEVER see in films. Liked it better than Downton Abbey.
