the last movie we watched was The Joker. of course Joaquin Phoenix was great in it. there were some really sad and awkward moments when they delved into the life of an incel and victim of bullying and abuse.
we had tix to see Zombieland 2 this last weekend but i got sick and we had to cancel. i think the next movie on our list is the new Terminator film.

Just got home from the Bruce Springsteen movie Western Star. It is basically a live concert in movie form produced in the attic of his barn ~ with a full orchestra! We liked it ~ I would think any of his fans would too.

We got a free preview to see "The Good Liar" - it was good....I kept waiting for a twist and there was one but it wasn't quite what I expected. Good movie that kept you kind of wondering...what is going to happen. Plus, the adorable Russell Tovey had a pretty significant part - added bonus.

We saw Harriet yesterday. Great movie about a sad time in our history.
Last week we saw Motherless Brooklyn which we also enjoyed ~ lots of twists and turns.

In the past couple weeks we’ve seen...
Harriet - enjoyed this more than I thought I would Last Christmas - cute movie although about 5 minutes into the movie I knew what was going to happen (there wasn’t a giveaway, it just came to me.. which was weird) Good Liar - it was soooooo slow for the first hour or so. I nodded off a couple times. The last half hour or so was good. People around me were saying it was such a good movie though. Ford v Ferrari - again, I enjoyed this more than I thought I would.

I saw Harriet last week. It was hard to watch, but I thought it was well done.
I saw Last Christmas last night. Liked that as well.
Added: Almost forgot. I saw Black and Blue as well. Enjoyed that, too!

We saw Midway today. DH and I came out of the theater exhausted and feeling like we were in the middle of the war. We both thought it was excellent and I teared up at the end when they gave updates on all the main people in the film. Being a Navy brat, I have always loved military movies, especially submarines since my dad was a 30-year Navy veteran and submariner for 27 of those years.

DH, DS and I went to see Ford vs Ferrari today. All 3 of us loved it! I really felt like I was racing the Le Mans! When we left the parking lot I felt like I should downshift and fly out of there!

Dh can be a bit grumpy and he really loved this movie too! I’m a huge mustang fan and we toured the Shelby museum when we were in Vegas. So we are kind of Shelby fans

DH, DS and I just got back from seeing The Good Liar. We all really enjoyed it as we tried to figure out everything as the movie progressed. Of course, by the end we were clueless so that made it so much fun!

We rented Good Boys last night to watch with our friends. It was HILARIOUS!!! I laughed until I cried in lots of parts. It’s like Superbad but with 11/12 year olds. If you liked Superbad this movie is for you! If you didn’t you should definitely avoid this one.

Recently saw Ford vs Ferrari, Knives Out, and Queen and Slim. Would recommend all three. Loved Ford vs Ferrari, you don’t need to be a car person to like it. It’s a really interesting story. Knives Out was really fun. Loved Daniel Craig. Queen and Slim was good, but sad. Makes you think about race. DH and I both enjoyed it.

I realize this movie was in theaters wayyy back in 2010, BUT---- we just found the movie about the Chilean coal miners what were buried alive in the movie "The 33" (Amazon Prime) last night. Wow---what a story! We had NO idea how bad the situation was!

My mom, DS, and I watched Frozen 2 tonight and we loved it! I enjoyed it better than the first one and my son, age 10, laughed through the whole movie. I need to find him a salamander stuffed animal for his Christmas stocking now.

Just got home from Knives Out! It was so much fun! Daniel Craig's southern accent sounded so much like Frank Underwood from House of Cards! I think. I know it reminded me of someone.

I watched Brittany Runs a Marathon last night on Amazon Prime. I wasn’t sure what to expect, esp because I dont think Jillian Bell is very funny or all that great in the other things I’ve seen her in.
This movie is excellent!! I related a lot to this character, and she played the role perfectly! I laughed and I cried a few happy tears at the end. It has interesting supporting characters. I liked Brittany’s progression as not just a runner but also as an overall person throughout the movie. Also, it makes me want to start training NOW for my tri next summer. 😄
On another note, I am currently sitting here watching The Yummy Gummy Search for Santa on Prime with my kids. It’s a Christmas special about that green gummy bear from the song (the one that likes to shake his butt). This is absolutely atrocious. I turned it on thinking it would be like 20 minutes max. Nope it’s a full hour long with the worst story line ever. Don’t watch this.

We saw The Good Liar last weekend and really enjoyed it. Of course, DH had it figured out in the first 15 minutes but I’m one that just likes to take the story as it comes. Well done and the lead parts were perfectly cast imo.

Just got back from seeing Dark Waters. It was thought provoking. I didn’t realize how current the problem was, how long it took to resolve and how it still affects us now. DH and I really enjoyed it.
