How brand loyal are you?
And say if you were a Crest toothpaste person but Colgate had a coupon on the tube at the time of purchase would that sway you to buying the Colgate and saving money at that time?
What products would you only buy name brand for vs Great Value?
Moisturizer / toothpaste / laundry / make up / ketchup are just a few I would spend all the money I have before I'd buy generic
I know some people who only buy generic and are 100% happy with everything and others who will NOT buy anything generic. I'm right in the middle

I'm not loyal to a whole lot of brands. Toothpaste, I just buy whatever one I find in an appealing flavor!

Toothpaste, body wash, etc., I don't care what brand, I buy whatever I have a coupon for. But, some things I'm totally brand loyal - Persil, Dawn, Heinz ketchup, dh has to have a certain coffee

Some things. We're a Cottonelle house all the way and I use a specific shampoo, but toothpaste and cleaning supplies and most food and things like that, I'm not particular (although I always get free and clear detergent in whatever brand).
When I grocery shop I will usually buy house brand unless I know it's not as good. Wegmans house brand is excellent in everything I have ever tried and is often cheaper than name brand with coupon.
I am a little bit store loyal though and will always shop at Wegmans if I have the option.

Not very. Or at least with most things. I have had zero issues with the Publix labeled goods so I tend to buy those a lot. Every once in a blue moon I find something I don't care for, but for the most part I am not so loyal to a brand that if I had a coupon for something else I would dismiss it.

I am brand loyal to Daisy sour cream, French's yellow mustard, Heinz ketchup and Philadelphia cream cheese. Oh and Reynolds wrap foil. I usually buy Colgate toothpaste, but would go with a different brand, but not Crest. I HATE the flavor of Crest. BBQ sauce is another thing that to me has such a wide variety of tastes that I stick with a few different brands that I have had before and know that I like.
DH does the laundry and we buy the Kirkland non-scented version at Costco. But that's not really a brand loyalty thing. If we were out and he was at the store, he'd probably buy the Tide non-scented version.
ETA: After reading some other posts, I guess I am VERY brand loyal. We only use Dawn and Scott ultra soft TP.

On some things I am very brand loyal after being let down by other brands or generics. These are some of the ones that come to mind that I am loyal to.
Crest toothpaste Dawn dish liquid Bounty paper towels Cottonelle toilet paper Persil laundry detergent Heinz ketchup Velveeta (if I buy processed cheese loaf) Daisy sour cream

I buy target store brand for a lot of things.
I am brand loyal to makeup, toothpaste (aqua fresh), laundry detergent. Coupons/sales/etc. would not lead me to buy different brands of those things.

I switch between brands for similar products. My dh on the other hand is very brand loyal. He was before being diagnosed with Celiac and now is more than ever. We aren't always successful with couponing for this reason.

I'm loyal to some things due to necessity really Sanex shower gel, Olay cleansers and moisturisers because they are the ones that don't make my ridiculously itchy skin any more itchy! Toothpaste, mouthwash, floss, toilet paper etc whatever's on offer. Make up, whatever catches my eye. I'm a make up magpie.

I do not buy generic but for most things I don't care which brand name it is. There are things like ketchup, toothpaste, mustard, and few other things that are not coming to mind right now that I will only buy *my brand choice*.
I really am not picky about which toilet paper I use but only buy the one brand because it dissolves quickly and with my old pipes that is best. And I will buy any brand of paper towel that comes with the half sheets.

My DH learned early on that I don't switch brands of ketchup or mayo! I'm pretty brand loyal to my jeans too. Most other things, I am OK to switch among a few choices.

I only buy Campbell's tomato soup and DH prefers Cheerios to the store version (other cereals he's fine with store-brand)
I can't think of anything else honestly that I am brand-loyal to - I'm a price-motivated shopper

I'm generally not very brand loyal and I like to shop at Aldi most of the time. There are a few exceptions: Honey Nut Cheerios, Heinz Ketchup, Starbucks Coffee, Pop-Tarts, and Cheez-Its.

I guess we're pretty brand loyal overall:
-- Crest toothpaste -- all free-and-clear clothing detergent -- Downy fabric softener -- Northern toilet paper -- Bounty paper towels (usually) -- Kirkland dog food -- Friskie's canned cat food -- one certain brand (don't remember) grain-free cat food -- Dawn dishwashing detergent -- Heinz ketchup -- Kraft mac & cheese -- Coke Zero -- Orowheat bread (that's my BF, not me) -- Lays brand potato chips, not generic / store brand -- Bare Minerals makeup -- my hair products (I don't remember the brand; I just know what the packaging looks like, lol) -- Ivory aloe fragrance bar soap for my BF -- CeraVe facial moisturizer and cleanser for me -- Dove bar soap for my BF's face -- etc. etc.
I just look for these things on sale in the weekly store ads to get the best prices. I don't bother couponing because of brand loyalty.

Pretty brand loyal for personal hygiene and cleaning products. Not so much with food items or clothing. There are a few things that I just prefer or with clothing, that fit my body best but other then that, I don't really care.

The rest is whatever is on sale.

I'm medium brand loyal I will switch between major brands on many things and I don't use many store brands. The things I'm specific about are Dawn dish soap and Best Foods/Hellman's mayo. I'm sure there are others, but those are my never waivers. I also now buy Whole Foods 365 crushed tomatoes. One of the cooking shows did a taste test so I tried them. They really do have much more flavor than the other brands. Toothpaste, I'm pretty flexible about. TP is always Kirkland because it's easier on our plumbing.

I bet I buy more store brand items than most people. I'm fine with whatever for ketchup, mayo, baking ingredients, toothpaste, dish soap, toilet paper, butter, and tons of other things.
We do buy Honey Nut Cheerios, Fritos, and brand name shampoo. And when we occasionally get pop, it's brand name. But I think that's it.

Not brand loyal at all. I'm frugal, so if I find something I know to be just as good and is cheaper, I buy it.

I'm not very brand loyal at all. I'm pretty open to trying a generic or just another brand. Or, if I regularly use one generic, I'm willing to try the generic of another store instead. The ingredients are what I focus on, followed by price, when deciding to try something. Then if I like it, I'll buy it again if I come across it. That's pretty much it. Sometimes I will consistently buy one brand simply because I've checked the ingredients, I know they are okay, and it's easier to keep grabbing the same item than checking a bunch of new ones, kwim? But if someone suggests something, or if the store is out of something, or things have been moved around and I find a different brand first, then I might opt to try something new.

I can't think of too many things I am brand loyal to except TP. I only buy Scott, the cheap stuff, because it doesn't clog my toilets when my kids use half a roll.
I also am not a fan of generic soda/pop.
Otherwise whatever is the best deal for the price gets my money.

I've experimented with generics and will buy somethings in generic, others not so much.
I don't really coupon. Mom sends some down occasionally. But, I quit clipping them. Not worth my time or energy.
The boy and I like a certain kind of Colgate & Dh uses a specific Sensodyne.
I stick to one type of soap and laundry detergent because my husband has a lot of skin sensitivity issues. So, I stay with what works.
I need a different type of soap. It helps with my skin issues due to fiber. One bar costs what I pay for 8 bars of what my family uses.
Kethup and mustard must be name brand--both Heinz. Though we also like Grey Poupon for brown mustard.
Shampoos are brand specific, too. Though I like to change those out periodically for myself. Always name brand.
I'll use store brand flour & sugar. Also, canned milk.
I used a cheap brand napkin for years. Recently tried Bounty napkins and will not buy anything else. One napkin covers what 5 of the cheap brand would. Where's the savings in that.
