Thanks for the invite Nylene, I have not really been able to scrap because I am currently working on a bathroom project. Hopefully, I will get a lot done on that project this weekend so I can craft again!!!

Decided to finish another card, using some of the artsy stuff I had been playing with. I had seen a Paper Wishes webisode on TH distress crayons the other day, and was thinking I could get a similar effect with gelatos. I outlined the technique I used in the Gallery. gelato technique card by Gramma Dee, on Flickr

grammadee - left love on your card - it is Awesome. I am feeling better now, I hope it holds. Nothing serious just had a sick stomach and felt "blah". Hoping I continue to feel well enough to walk on my tread tonight and maybe to a little more organizing.

Hi Pokeys
You know I try never to be negative, but I got scammed at work today, cost the company $500.00. I feel just terrible. Boy this was a well developed plan, said they were going to shut off the electricity due to non-payment (we are a concrete plant) in 1/2 hour, General Manger called frantically, and gave us a number to call back they even had the recording regarding if you are reporting an electrical outage press 5, etc....GM was instructed to pay 500.00 to keep the account open at a CVS pharmacy (first clue), and then was told not to pick up the red phone at the CVS, where the CVS personnel were telling him to pick up the phone (I guess if he would have done that we would have not been scammed), but he didn't. They sure knew how to get to us, and had information our account number, dates of payments etc. SCARY - I will not be sleeping tonight, I am so upset. All my fault, I should have been more diligent and checked better.
Sorry for the rant ladies, I know this is not the place for it, but I just needed to vent....
Have a beautiful weekend.

maribeth, I am so sorry that happened to you today. It makes me so mad that some people won't get real jobs, but prefer to cheat people out of their hard earned $. I hope you contacted the police. May be a hopeless cause, but it may help them find the culprits or at least warn other companies. Hugs to you and I hope you can sleep tonight.

Hope, like nylene that you were able to block the accounts in question and also contacted the authorities.

grammadee, your work with gelatos is great. I left some love in the gallery. I haven't been brave enough to try those. maribeth , I hope you are having a better day today. Being with the granddaughters has to help you feel better. scrapincin , hope you are doing well today and able to do some of the things you want. Great page, nylene ! Left some love in your Gallery. I finished off my Mothers' Day cards today. Was in card mode after creating the bd cards that have to get into the mail next week. Think I might just do a couple of cards for my grand nieces' May birthdays before I put my card stuff away. Haven't started a page since Calvinball ended. Every time I think of an idea for one, I gather up supplies I might need and set them aside for the LSS crop in 2 weeks. Wanted to print a 5 x 7" photo for a page about the adoption when I was in town yesterday, but the Kodak kiosk is gone from the local Co-op grocery store. Guess that page will have to wait, too. Had an idea to get kind of artsy with that one, using paper strips and gesso and stencils, and it's easier to do that at home where I have all the supplies and can do one layer at a time with lots of drying time. Guess I could create the base here and then finish at the crop after I have been to Wal-Mart to print the photo.

Here i am checking in and you gals are not going to believe it but I am in my scrap room. I made a box to hold my cards I make so they do not get messy and Nylene you will appreciate this I made two flowers-one I am happy with. It has been a while since I did that! I decided today I was going to come in here and try to do something to get my mojo moving! Maribeth sorry of how you were taken advantage of If it makes you feel better someone got to Natalie Morales of the Today show and got control of her computer. It can happen to anyone. Hope you are feeling better also. Nylene I love your layout and will leave you some love in the gallery. Grammadee looking forward to seeing that little guy. I know it is probably getting to you as I am not a patient waiter! Waving a big hi to everyone and going to go visit the gallery and maybe make something else here or scrap a page. Good Sunday morning Pokeys nylene - This layout is absolutely perfect. Left love in your gallery scrapincin - Love you box, left love, I wish I had a Silhouette so I could make one of these, It is one of the prettiest storage boxes I have see. I am in the middle of completely organizing my scraproom and this would be such a great addition to store my cards. The divider tabs work perfectly with the motif of my storage unit tabs (you will see when I post the photos) I wonder if there is anyone with a Silhouette that does custom work for hire??? grammadee - your layout idea sounds beautiful. I can't wait until you share it. You need to share some of your Mother's Day cards as well, would love to see them. I decided what will make me be able to deal with the scam issue. Since I feel it is my job to protect my boss from this type of thing and I failed to do my job, I am going to repay the company 1/2 of the amount we were scammed for. I believe the GM is equally as responsible, since he should have questioned the payment instruction once he reached the CVS pharmacy??? (to pay a utility bill), and did not follow the instructions of the CVS staff which also MAY have prevented the transaction (according to the CVS manager). I think you are all pretty aware here of the importance I place on integrity, and I know that I can not let this issue go until I make appropriate restitution. My boss will not be pleased by my decision and will tell me not to pay for this, but he has known my for over 20 years, and he knows that if I say I am going to do something, I am going to do it. He understands that I feel people are responsible for their actions, this was not a simple mistake, which I know can happen, this was negligence on my part by calling the number the GM gave me and not the number on the utility bill. Because this was all happening 1 hour before closing time (good plan on the scammers part), we all felt pressure to get it resolved quickly. Now that I have resolved what I have to do the weight of this matter has lifted, and I can enjoy my day! We will be going on a 4-day camping trip starting Thursday morning so I have much to do to get ready. Have a wonderful day Pokeys

That card box looks really bright and cheery, scrapincin And I love all the layers and colors in nylene 's page. Here is a page I did with photos of Mikey--the first one I have been able to post publicly. They have a house they own (what Mikey calls the Choo Choo house), and one they rent where his dad has been posted (which Mikey calls the buffalo house) I play to make a buffalo house page as well, but might not do that until the crop. choo choo house by Gramma Dee, on Flickr After reading the thread about chalk, I decided to pull out one of my chalk sets and use it here with double stick letters for the title. Worked well, so I may just be using this technique again, even by putting glue on the top of letters with my Xyron.

Thanks for the love in the Gallery, Ladies. I wanted to clarify about my mothers' day cards. I didn't emboss the pp or give it the metallic look: it came pre embossed with a bit of a pearlized finish. I have no idea who the manufacturer is, and there is no scanner strip or note on the back to tell me. It was originally cream colored. I used a few colors of Colorbox ink and their applicator to sponge color onto the surface and then ink the edges. Here are some of the supplies: inking pre embossed pp by Gramma Dee, on Flickr And here are the cards: mom's day cards '16 by Gramma Dee, on Flickr

Happy Monday Pokeys grammadee - I couldn't leave comments on your Flickr page - but your embossed cards are wonderful, and the Choo Choo layout is to die for adorable. Great job. I have not made one page since Calvinball, but I am organizing my room. I have had the structure in place, but I have never just focused and working on getting everything in its place. I have made tremendous progress (I will post photos soon), and feeling very good about what I have accomplished thus far. I hope everyone has a wonderful Monday.

Happy Monday! I did go to the Scrapbook Expo on Saturday. It was ok. The selection of stuff was better than the last time I went. I would like to take one of the classes and or go to the crop next time. I think for me that would be more fun. But it was out of my budget this time. By the time you pay for parking and admission, the classes on top was more than I could spend. But maybe next time. I did get some pearl swirls bling for a dollar each. There was so much to look at there but I enjoyed watching this lady make dimensional paper flowers. They were so life-like and beautiful when she got through. Have any of you all ever been to this Expo? It is so awesome that it is early April and we are on page two already? Very cool! I see some beautiful projects have been going on here. I gotta catch up on Flickr. Maribeth- I hope your work situation is ok now. How crazy that was! Cindy- Glad you are feeling better and making stuff again. That box is so cute. How did you make it?

Wow, I love coming to the thread and seeing lots of Pokeys getting scrappy. I have left love for each of you. BTW LisaDV has posted some layouts in the gallery for a couple of other challenges here. We'd love to have links posted here, Lisa, but if not, everyone go look in the gallery! I think I have left love for everyone in the gallery now. I'll check back later in case I missed some. Kelly, I'm glad you had a good time at Expo. I heard that the parking was something like $18. Wow! I can't remember what they charged for classes, but I remember I didn't feel like I could do them at our last Expo several years ago. The crop area was free, but filled up fast and a couple of women went to the restroom and had things stolen from their table. So sad. I am anxious to see what you do with your pearl flourishes. maribeth , I have been thinking a lot about you. I hate to see you feel obligated to pay back some of the company loss. I would think that the company would consider it a business loss and include it as such when doing taxes. I think you just did what you were told to do. Hang in there...I'm just worrying about you! I hope you don't mind my sharing another layout. I have been doing a lot of scrapping lately. I think I didn't realize how lousy I have been feeling the past few months. So now I'm making up for last time! Smile by Nylene Budge, on Flickr

nylene - and what a great layout it is. Perfect title, her smile is Awesome, so glad you captured it. The bright colors work really well, and really make a bold statement. The owners do not expect me to pay that $$ back in the least, and the do see it as a business loss, but it is more about my integrity and how I personally feel about my actions in the matter. Don't worry. I feel better now that I have taken responsibility and won't give it another thought now. kellyr21 - How fun! I would love to go to an event like this, but alas, in New Mexico we just don't have a market for such things. In fact I went to a new (bigger) Hobby Lobby that opened up recently, and they only had three isles of scrapbooking stuff. My older (smaller) Hobby Lobby has about 6 of them ?. Scrapbooking really is not a big thing here. Anxious to get home, walk on the tread, and then do some RV loading - Yay, camping this weekend!!!!!

I am back! Wow this place is hopping! I was making my way thru the gallery and chat. Thanks to all of you for the love you left on my box!
Kelly- I know the expense of those scrappy meetings is definitely expensive. But they are fun. You will have to save your change so next time you can take a class! You would be surprised how fast it builds up.
Maribeth- I am glad to hear that you have the work situation off your back. Stuff like that gets heavy after a while. I am glad you are so excited about your upcoming camping trip sounds like fun!
Grammadee You are ricking out some really cute pages! I enjoy seeing your art!
Nylene left you some love in the gallery but I am so loving your pages. I have been a fan of yours ever since I met you! I am glad you are feeling better then the past few months and back in the scrappy room! I was in mine this morning for a while and plan to be back in there later. I still have shingles but they are drying up and no new ones.
Ok closing for now! BBL!!!

Hi everyone, I've been reading on tap-a-talk, but find it cumbersome to type on my phone. When I've been at my real computer, I've been working on posts for my blog. I'm doing the April Blog challenge on the forum here. Calvinball was SOO much easier than having posts for everyday. But I think I've finally figured out a rhythm (schedule). Glad to see sbartist join the pokeys! and that scrapincin is starting to feel better. I've loved seeing everyone's work and have finally made it to the gallery this morning to leave love. nylene , thanks for the reminder to also post here. I've created 2 pages where I joined challenges around the web. The first is for the 2psR April Stash Challenge (also for Shimelle's Monday challenges 3/28 sketch, but I always complete them too late for entry - but I like combining). GMnMiniw by Lisa Davolt, on Flickr The next works for 3 challenges: the 2psR Bonus Challenge (for another Shimelle Monday Challenge 4/4 vellum, and for Tori Bissell's Scrap Your Scraps #22 challenge) LoveFoundw by Lisa Davolt, on Flickr Currently craftily working on cleaning and the Sketch/Scraplift challenge for here, which, no surprise, I'm combining with a Scrap Your Stash Challenge. Unfortunately, housework comes before the finishing of the layout. I need a live-in maid. (insert heavy sigh here). Hope everyone has a lovely day.

Thanks for all the love in the Gallery, ladies! maribeth , have fun getting ready for the camping trip. Sometimes the preparation and dreaming about a vacation are almost as therapeutic as the trip itself! LisaDV , good to see you have recovered enough from Calvinball to get creative again. I want to check out the challenges you listed. I started a thread in the Cardmaking forum about card challenges. I think I might move it here and ask for links to scrapbooking challenges. On the site I migrated from, we used to set up monthly on line crops with people throwing in ideas until we had about 20 challenges. I miss that inspiration. scrapincin , good to know you are feeling better and getting crafty again. And I have enjoyed seeing pages with your dgd, nylene . Glad you are feeling better, too. kellyr21 , glad you had a chance to experience the expo. justjac and I went to the "Great Canadian Scrapbook Carnival" in the fall. I don't think I could have participated in the crop there: The crop area was set up right in the middle of the display floor, and I am way too ADD to concentrate in the middle of all that activity. Happy Tuesday! I had great crafty plans for this morning, because dh had said he planned to go into town for coffee. But I guess his buddy cancelled at the last minute, so dh is here, and quite chatty this morning. Every time I have half an idea, he asks me a question about anything from dog food to income tax. Took me 30 minutes to put this post together. Don't see myself getting much else accomplished scrap wise!

I did manage to snap a pic of one addition I made to yesterday's page. When I looked at the two pages together, I thought the one with the filmstrip needed some more color to balance it out with the facing page. So I fussy cut a couple of the boots from the Nikki Sivils pp, coated them with Glossy Accents, and attached them along the border strip on the left. Also added some little droplet shaped "gems" to mimic the splashing. Those might be Little Yellow Bicycle?. Anyway, here are the boots: fussy cut boots by Gramma Dee, on Flickr

grammadee, I love your 2nd page too. I love the little boots on your paper, so adding a couple by the photos is a great idea. I'll leave you some love in the gallery. I love the dimension and texture on each of these newest layouts. Had to laugh at DH interrupting your thoughts and ideas. That happens around here too. BTW, there are 2 girls I have scrapped this week. They look enough alike to be twins, but they are exactly 2 years apart. 5 of our 14 grands are redheads. It's fun to get them all together. kellyr21, I wish I could have gone to the Expo with you. Glad you could go. I'm looking forward to seeing your cards with all your new pretty papers. Bonnie, sbartist, so nice to see you. Cute, cute cards. I saw the inspiration for the cars on Scrapbook.com. You are a true artist. How is the bathroom project coming? I'll leave love in the gallery. Cindy, scrapincin, so glad you are not having new lesions popping out. I hope that they will be gone soon and the pain along with them. It's fun seeing your smiling face pop up in the thread. Hang in there. Hugs from me. maribeth, I haven't finished reading your blogs, but will get back to them. Do you have a link that will take me to your whole gallery rather than one layout at a time? I think these are new pages I haven't seen. LisaDV, is your blog public or private. I'd love to visit if it is OK. Last night DS and DH got the rest of the plywood up on the Wood Shop. They put the windows in before they left. They are doing some trenching for gas and electric today. It's coming along quickly.
