LOL, grammadee. DH & I both like liver. The liver doesn't freeze well, especially for a long period of time, so I totally understand eating it on butchering day. Glad you have a full freezer. kellyr21, I received a blitzy order last week or the week before (they run together), but it was ordered after checking them out from your post. Looking forward to seeing your Mother's Day cards. Once the house is fixed, in a couple of years, you are more than welcome to come visit whether you want to plant things or not. maribeth, funny that you mention my energy level. I started walking on the treadmill last week, because I've gained so much weight and was getting way too out of shape. Later in the week, I was walking and so ready to stop after 1 mile. I'd gotten on late and had other things to do and was tired and excuses came pouring out. Then I thought of you! I was like "Maribeth, works a gazillion hours a day, up before dawn and walks an hour every night, you slept til 7, don't have to leave the house, you can go at least another mile!" And I did, all thanks to you and your dedication and your energy level. nylene, so exciting that the wood shop is coming along!! DD had a follow-up GI appt yesterday. I took her off the antihistamine that the dr had put her on. I just don't think it was helping. They gave her a new med to try. Keeping our fingers crossed. Then since she doesn't get out much, we wanted to do something fun. It has cooled down 20 degrees since we left our house so mini-golf was out. So we went to play laser tag and then some arcade games. My first time doing laser tag. It was lots of fun. I lost, but I was also the most accurate shot. We'll be doing that again. Today, I plan only to do bits: a bit of house cleaning, a bit of walking, a bit of school work (most can be done without me), a bit of scrapbooking as I have a layout that's sat since Saturday on my desk and a bit of relaxing with my kids (travel yesterday will mean DD will have motion sickness all day today). Waving hi and wishing everyone a productive but relaxing day!

Keep up the great work!

Can you believe that we are on page 4 this month. Wow! How fun that we are chattin' and scrappin'. LisaDV , our youngest daughter is married to a Pixar animator. The only way to ever tour the Pixar Studio is by having an employee accompany you. So every time we go to Northern Calif. we let Jon escort us. It is so interesting and the kids love it. Jon did an internship with them just as he was ready to graduate from college. So this was his absolute dream job and he loves it. Well, liver-lovers, I am not joining your ranks. I love heart and don't mind tongue, but I can't get liver down! Sure glad there are people who do enjoy it. maribeth and LisaDV both make me tired with all the things they accomplish each day. This old age is really slowing me down! I am so jealous of your walking on the beach, kellyr21 . What a wonderful, relaxing day. I'll be glad when it gets warm enough to be outside a little more here. scrapincin, it's so nice to see you scrapping. I hope you are feeling MUCH better. Here's a layout I finished last night. I don't think I've scrapped this much in one month for years. It must be the effect of all the Calvinball chatting!. LOL! Family by Nylene Budge, on Flickr

Happy Tuesday! It is another very warm day and I hope to work on more cards today. I finished 8 yesterday and want to start more. I would like to have 20 done all totaled. SO lot of fun work ahead of me. Hey, we are on PAGE 4 now!!!! How cool is that!!! I did finish a layout too and will share. I am not crazy about the way it turned out but every page doesn't have to be a master piece. LOL! The gallery is hoppin'! I was just over there leaving lots of love. I am glad we have been creating this month. Lisa- Thanks for the invitation. I did go to Michigan once ages ago and even got over to Ontario, Canada. Maybe some day I will make it up there again. Wishing your new plants and trees good growing luck. Nylene- yeah, we had a great time on our little mini vacation to the beach. I love it over there. Your latest layout is too cute! Your family is so sweet and all that red hair is amazing! Where did they get it from? Your side or your dh's side? Maribeth- Oh I forgot to see how your camping trip was. Do you all go in your state and area? What is one of your favorite things to do there?

Happy Tuesday. Today I packed up all my scrap crap to take to the weekend crop starting Friday. Going to stay at justjac 's house which is only a few blocks from the venue, and we are going to scrap up a storm. I had BETTER scrap up a storm or my back is hurting for nothing! I am tied up Wednesday and I want to have this all into my vehicle on Thursday so I don't have to pack and unpack in one day. While the counters were relatively cleared off, I decided to take a few photos of my scraproom. Started a Thread to share scrappy places . maribeth , maybe you can show your reorganized space there too. My space is a refurbished home office. it is about 8 feet wide, and 18 feet deep from door to far wall. Then I have also confiscated the short end of the L, lining the hallway to the bedroom with cube cupboards and other Michaels storage cubbies. Lovely page, nylene . Thanks for the love in the Gallery, kellyr21 . Looking forward to seeing your cards!

maribeth , maybe you can show your reorganized space there too I will do that.....this weekend for sure I will get some photos of my re-organization project and post them. I am almost done with my stamp cataloging, ran into a bit of a snag with the Stampin Up rubber clear mount stamps not sticking to the blocks so it has slowed my forward progress on this task a bit. Used my new Totally-Tiffany 2" Punch Pack and separated all my various adhesives and found I will need 6 more of these packs just for my adhesive storage. I am wanting to keep these "VERY" containerized by type, so that I won't be having to dig through a basket, bin, or drawer for that one thing I know is in there that I need. I think this is going to work for me - I sure hope so after dedicating and entire month to getting it done.

Nylene- Your latest layout is too cute! Your family is so sweet and all that red hair is amazing! Where did they get it from? Your side or your dh's side? Kelly, my husband's father was a redhead, but none of his children had red hair. Angie has always had just a touch of red in her hair, but other than that, no reds in my family. So we don't know where all those reds originated. Emily needs to research her husband's family since 3 of 3 children have red! It must be in his family too. I'm excited that you have found some info about your ancestors. I stayed awake all night the other night watching reruns of Who Do You Think You Are. I am always so touched by the deep feelings they have for family members who died many years before. I am not doing research right now, but am still indexing. I download old parish records, military enlistments, etc. and type the information into a form so that those people can be searched by location, surname, etc. I love doing it and hope that those researching can find their lost relatives through those forms. I did actually index an 1880 census that contained my own ancestors. I thought the names sounded familiar so I looked in my research and realized that it was the right family and that they had 2 children we didn't know about. That was a neat experience. (Sorry for the novel!) grammadee, I hope you have a wonderful weekend and that you scrap to your heart's content. maribeth, how was the camping trip? I am anxious to see your organization projects. I'm working on mine, but I get side-tracked .... LisaDV ......Squirrel!........and start scrapping instead of working on the things that need to be organized. I have finished more pages and have one that just needs some stitching and gluing down. I've never been this prolific! I'm loving it. DH has been helping on the Wood Shop so he hasn't been building in the basement. I know that has helped my allergies. It's nice to be feeling better. Sorry for the long post. Have a great week, everyone. I love seeing all your work.

Good evening ladies! Not much going on with me right now. I have a photo to scrap and trying to figure how I want to do that. I have had some busy times this week. Got Bobby to ride his bike-another accomplishment to mark off. The weather has been so nice here I actually bought flowers for my yard today. Did not plant them yet though as I worry about getting a frost. We have 70 plus several days now, but we are to get rain tonight or tomorrow.
grammadee -I loved seeing the pics of your scrap room! I hope you have a great time at your crop-not too much chatter but lots of scrapping!
Maribeth- I was glad to see you had a nice camping trip! Can't wait to see your room organization also.
Kelly-sounds like you and Ron are having fun getting away and checking new things out. Can't wait to see your layout!
Nylene-as always I love seeing your pages! I am excited to see Steve's new wood working room! I bet he can't wait to use it. I am so glad you guys figured out what was making you sick.
Lisa-I hope your DD is feeling better. Poor thing has had a rough time.
Ok going to run and see what I can get myself into.

nylene, love the layout, will be leaving love after posting here. Also, I just saw the comment on my blog about what is woyww. It stands for what's on your workdesk wednesday. stamping-ground.blogspot.com is the originator. You share on your blog your workdesk every Wed. and then link up to the blog. Then visit others that link up. Sorry I didn't see it sooner. -- And since Nylene, mentioned liking heart, I actually decided not to post this to my response grammadee's liver post, as I didn't want to gross anyone out. But we sometimes eat the heart from the deer when we clean it. It's delish. We don't do it every year though. kellyr21, hope you share those cards with us. grammadee, have fun at your crop! scrapincin, hurray for Bobby riding his bike? Is this a first time? First time without training wheels? I finished another layout for another challenge over at Scrap our stash. My great niece from last 4th of July. With such bold patterns I kept the embellishment simple. AllAmericanGirlw by Lisa Davolt, on Flickr

Good Wednesday evening Ladies. Love your page, LisaDV . Left some comments on Flickr. Looking forward to seeing the other creations people are working on. I feel so at home here where [almost] everyone likes organ meats. I don't mind heart or tongue, but we don't get those from the butcher: just the liver. Spent a lot of $$$ in the last few days, and have yet to meet with the accountant to find out how much I owe in taxes. Well, Jac spent the money to register me in LOAD, but I need to pay her back on the weekend. Dropped a $100 bill at the hairdressers' today for the full meal deal: cut, color, foils, set. Not quite ready yet to love the grey. And I booked flights for myself and 3 friends who will be going on a cruise in the fall. I got an email from Expedia who had a price about $400 per person less than anything else we had seen, and the itineraries suit our travel plans perfectly. So the "girls" asked me to book all the flights and they will pay me back. Thursday, I need to load my crop stuff into my vehicle and finish sorting through winter and summer clothes in my closet. Got that about half done today.

To answer Lisa's question we took Bobby 's training wheels off and had him push himself with his feet añd to coast and the kids will automatically start pedaling and he did. We have a parking lot behind us and he had it all to himself and just rode the bike all around.

Cindy, congrats to Bobby on riding his bike. That is such a rite of passage! I'm sure he's so proud of himself. It's nice to see your happy smile popping up here. We hope it won't be long until you are back to PERFECT! Your weather sounds nice. It is beautiful here today, but we expect snow on Tuesday. We can't plant flowers here until Mother's Day. We have had snow as late as June 5. Hope you don't overdo planting your flowers. Maybe Maggie and Bobby can help. I'm glad you are itching to do some scrapping! grammadee , thanks for posting scraproom photos on the other thread. If I ever get mine cleaned up enough, I'll post some too. Also thanks for taking on a fun challenge for May and posting it for everyone on 2peas Refugees. That sounds like fun. It sounds like you have lots of plans in your near future. Hope your crop is wonderful and that you get a lot done. LisaDV , deer heart was always a favorite growing up! How is your little gal doing? I love that layout about your niece. Beautiful, patriotic page. Kelly, I am anxious to see your cards. I love that paper you bought. maribeth, are you planning another camping trip this weekend, or just concentrating on your scraproom? The gas went into the Shop yesterday, insulation and doors today. Sheet rock in the next 2 days and siding on Saturday. It's amazing how fast it's going. DS is in Cancun for the weekend (how dare he leave in the middle of our Wood Shop?) for a much needed getaway with his sweet wife. But he has scheduled his subcontractors to work while he's gone. DH is so excited. I know he will love this. Here's another layout I finished last night. Frozen by Nylene Budge, on Flickr

Left some love for that frosty page in the Gallery, nylene . As I said in a different thread, all my crop supplies are already in the vehicle for tomorrow. I did a bit of vacuuming while the floor is less cluttered. And did some laundry so I will have clothes to pack in the morning. Hoping people will add challenges &/or prompts to the TYS challenge thread I set up earlier. What I liked most about Calvinball was how many options I had to choose from when planning a project. We have been invited to meet our renter for pizza tonight. I am assuming they want to give us the cheque for the annual rent for the fields that they crop. Cheque or not, I don't have to cook! Have a great Thursday evening!

grammadee - have fun at your crop. Thanks for getting us started for our scrapping event in May. nylene - left love for your page - no camping this weekend. We were suppose to go next weekend but we have canceled that. We will work on the yard a bit before we go for our week long camping trip May 14-22 to Hovenweep (you sure you don't want to make the long drive to visit me - LOL) scrapincin - Yay Bobby. Enjoy your nice weather, and I look forward to seeing your page when you get around to it. kellyr21 - I have missed seeing your projects, the are always so pretty. I know you are enjoying yourself, but I look forward to seeing some projects from you. LisaDV - left love, great page. Waving Hi to all the other Pokeys See you later

Happy Thursday! It is another nice weather day today. Sounds like your weather is warming up too. I worked on more cards last night and almost have 16 done. Yippee! Here is one of them and a layout I did about our 10th anniversary "plan b" day.
Happy Day by Kelly Roberts, on Flickr
Happy Mothers Day by Kelly Roberts, on Flickr
Nylene- Your story about your red heads is interesting. I guess those roots go back to some other red heads in your family tree. I do really like those genealogy tv shows too. I have seen "Who do you think you are?" but my first exposure was Dr. Henry Gates programs on PBS. It was especially helpful since African American research tends to have a short paper trail. Have you seen the "genealogy Roadshow"? That is a fun one too. The only tricky thing about family research is you find some great stuff but also some negative stories or maybe I should say surprising facts about ancestors. Like when one of the actors on "Who do..." found out his ancestor was tried as a witch during the Salem Witch Trials. WOW! I know I would of been a little scared to hear this. Your dh's new play areas is really coming along. He is gonna have fun out there. Maybe your dh will build you a special craft house! LOL! I have a feeling after he finishes your dh's he will be done. Cindy- Congrats to Bobby! I know he is gonna love the freedom from riding without the help. Sounds like a scrapbook page is coming. I totally want to plant stuff so I am sending you some my virtual hands to use as you plant your new flowers. I think I gotta get a plant soon. My hands need some soil this year! LOL! Lisa- So fun you ordered from Blitzy! I enjoyed my experience and glad you did too. Grandmadee- Girl, you got all "dolled" up today. Wowzers, I know you love your new look. Oh and your trip sounds amazing. I know you will be excited as you get ready for your trip. Waving hi to you all and have a nice evening!

kellyr21 - YAY, I love seeing your work, they are wonderful. You are always so upbeat in your posts and sunshine radiates from you and your hubby, even tho you had a rainy day Maribeth- Oh I forgot to see how your camping trip was. Do you all go in your state and area? What is one of your favorite things to do there? This last camping trip we went on was to our favorite camp spot at the City of Rock State Park (NM, not Idaho). It is very desolate, and desert style camping, It is just the perfect place to just camp. RELAXNG is the major activity we do when we go here. There are two hikes/walks in the park, one goes to the top of what they call table mountain, and the other goes around the entire park, we do those of course, several times a day. I have not posted a quote in a while - A cluttered desk is a sign of genius. Author: UnkownI can asses from this then that I am really really smart. I sure hope to have everything off my desk by the end of my April organization plan so I can start participating in grammadee 's great May event. Have a wonderful day Pokeys.

Kelly I just saw your layout and card so will go back tot the gallery and leave you some love! You know I love your work. Nylene- love your page and all the stitching! If I was Steve I would oh so excited too! Can you imagine if someone would build us a new scraproom! Grammadee- there is photo of part of scraproom already in the gallery but I will take a couple more and post them. Hope you are enjoying your crop. Maribeth I hope you are getting a lot accomplished. Knowing you aI am sure you are. I was up most of the night so will probably doze off and on today. Well here is the link to my layout: The Browns Fan by Cindy Blair, on Flickr

I'll be heading to the gallery to leave love on all the fabulous projects posts. We are so rocking it this month!! grammadee, glad you got your hair done. I'll check your thread after the gallery. Don came home yesterday afternoon but leaves this afternoon to go to Chicago and help his Uncle move. DS is going with him. So I dropped a $$$ on crab yesterday to make california rolls for DD and me. Since she can't travel that kind of distance in such a short time (they'll be back Sunday night), I wanted her to have something to look forward to. I would expect we'll do some girl movies, work on our business idea, and maybe even scrap or art journal. Sending happy Friday thoughts and wishes to everyone!!

Just got back from the Gallery. Love all the inspiration there. Left some love. Looks like everyone but me got something posted this week. Good job! Love that sports page, scrapincin ! Several of my grandkids have sports themed bedrooms, and one ds has a "man cave" lined with framed jerseys , but that Brown's space is impressive! I will take photos of the pages I finish at the crop, and then drop some of them into the gallery next week. Sounds like you have a wonderful girlie weekend planned while the guys are gone, LisaDV . Enjoy it! I like kellyr21 's idea for nylene 's guys to build her a dedicated craft playhouse! A friend of mine had one of those her husband built for her in an unattached garage on their property. They had small kids and a small house, so she really did enjoy her playhouse when she could find some time to get out there. It was expensive to keep it heated though, even just above freezing, to protect the water lines and her glue. They have since moved to a larger house in town. Looking forward to seeing your organized scraproom, maribeth . I really can't believe the energy you throw at everything! In an hour or so I will be pulling out of the driveway with all my scrappy supplies and dreams and plans. Need to stop in town to print some pic's, pick up a few things I had preordered from the LSS, and run a few other errands before the crop doors open. Have a great weekend, Ladies! I will be back home on Sunday evening.

LisaDV , sounds like you have some mom and daughter time ahead. That should be fun and the crab sounds delicious. Hope your DS and DH have a safe trip. That's nice of them to help with the move. maribeth , I LOVE that quote. I must be much more intelligent than I thought! You have such a cute sense of humor. I love having you on the Pokey thread, you add such flavor. Good luck with your organizing, but keep that desk a bit cluttered so you will remember how smart you are. LOL! kellyr21 , did you make all the cards alike? I'd love to see some of the others you have done. You have such a gift for making beautiful things. grammadee , I hope you are having a great time and are accomplishing a lot. Hope you get to chat and have fun too. BTW, my DH actually turned a spare bedroom into a scraproom for me. He was diagnosed with cancer and that day took me to the paint store to pick out paint. He didn't want to leave me without a scraproom. That was about 10 years ago and he is now cancer free and I have a small scraproom. Someday I'll clean it up enough to post photos. scrapincin , that layout is wonderful. You got such great photos that really show off her room. What a fun neighbor. I hope you share these pages with her. You did a beautiful job of showing how intense her fan-love is. Love it. They announced today that there are 25 days of school left. We stop our tutoring 2 weeks before the end of the year, so it looks like about 15 more days with my little readers. I will enjoy being home, but will miss the kids. Have a great weekend, everyone. I will try to get back before Monday, but I don't promise anything. LOL! I don't know why weekends get so crazy, but they do!

Just a quick note I am giving her the layout and she will be making another one as she is a digi scrapper once in a while. She is retiring in a few weeks so I will be helping her with that. I gave my DSIL his also! That way he can out it in an album or frame it so he can enjoy it. They mean a lot to them and not so much to me!

nylene - you do such wonderful work with your little ones. I so wish my children had, had the benefit of a wonderful program such as yours. Unfortunately they received a horrible education here in New Mexico, and being a single parent trying to keep a roof over our heads I did not have the time to devote to them, I had to work so many hours just to make ends meet. Your little ones have such a great advantage because of you. You are wonderful Nylene. I am still working on my room, but making tremendous progress and I will post photos soon. scrapincin - so glad they are getting the layout, they will will love it. Have a wonderful Friday evening.

Happy Saturday! It is a pleasant day here. Just relaxing and enjoying the day. Glad you all liked my latest creations. That layout had to grow on me. I loved the banner and the colors. I guess I wasn't sure about the chevron pp in the back. I do love crumbling and tearing paper. LOL! That is a trend I plan on using for a while. I did finish a painting recently. This is my first landscape with me in it. I will share it this week. I just love painting! So fun! nylene - The cards I made are all the same size but different and simular. (if that makes sense) I will share more. I still have a few more to finish and then I hope to start a whole new collection of just cards for Spring and regular occasions. I got this poster size paper from Paper Source and would like to use it. It is floral with bright colors in it and a touch of gold. So I will play around with it and see what I come up with. Summer vacation is coming quickly for your school. Enjoy your last few weeks there. grammadee - I hope you are have a great time at your scrapping event. cindy - I know you are a big "Brown's" fan too. Do you have any memorabilia? I am a big Laker fan and I all I have is a couple of t-shirts Ron gave me and a autographed signed book from Jeanie Buss (one of the team owner's) lisa - Hope you and your dd had fun with your girl's night. Making your own sushi is a fun thing to do too. Is it easy to make? I do like California rolls sometimes. Waving hi to you all and have a super evening!

Hi ladies. I hope everyone had a great weekend. My neighbor said thank you for all your kind comments on her Browns collection. There was one tiny thing I left out. She is the owner of our 9-5 dog. In case you do not know about him is she has to work, and he was in not so nice situation before Barb found him, so he has a bit of an anxiety disorder. So when it gets really hot or bad in the winter we bring to our house therefore the 9-5 dog. She takes him to be groomed once a month. But what I forgot to tell you is he wears a browns hanky around his neck and gets his nails polished orange!
Kelly I do have a few pieces of memorabilia but mind is nothing compared to hers!

OK, I had a post on here from like 12:10 this morning that obviously didn't post. I was just jumping on to read and not to write at them moment. I'll be back later to post again.

Waving "hi" to all of you. Things have been crazy here today. The sheetrock was delivered in the middle of the rainstorm. They had big plastics over them so should be all right. Then we realized that the only night this week that we could celebrate DH's birthday was tonight. I had to really scramble to get food ready to have Em and family for dinner and cake and ice cream. Her 3 year old (Alex) is having his tonsils and adenoids out on Thursday so we wanted to celebrate before that! He has sleep apnea. His breathing should improve substantially. I just wanted to post another layout and then I'll be back to chat tomorrow. Happy, Crazy, Busy Family by Nylene Budge, on Flickr Cindy, something has happened to our Pokey Pea buttons!
