She claims to be between a size 4 and 6. She is 5'7" and admits to being 160 lbs. how could this be? She says being 'plus-sized' is great, but she's not plus-sized and doesnt want to be included in that category. i think she's brilliant and hysterically funny, but in no way, shape, or form is she a size 4-6.

OP, this isn't meant to be unkind or rude towards you. But as women, if we want our worth to be more than our bodies and what the size of our jeans are....we as women need to stop talking about other women and what the size of their jeans are. I have never thought about Amy Schumer's weight because it never occurred to me that it should matter.

If she said that, she was joking. 14 or 16, for sure. And she looks a bit heavier than the 160s, for her height. Not that I really care, mind you. As far as fashion goes she's definitely plus sized.

She is quoted as saying she is not plus-sized and wears a 4-6? She must have been joking around if she did say that, after all being funny is her thing. There is no way she said that seriously.

Where is your quote and source? That's not what she said. If you look at her twitter feed she said she's between a size 6 and 8. I shop almost exclusively at the LOFT and theLimited where I am a size Small across the board in dresses and shirts and I look like Amy. It all depends on where you shop. She's not plus sized, she's average.

I believe she is not plus sized. What I read said she claims to be between a 6-8, not a 4-6. Shrug. I don't know. Sizes seem so all-over the place. I wear a 3 size range depending on the clothing item/fabric content. Erin

clothing sizes are not true to size. It very well may say those sizes on her tags. I just recently went jeans shopping and depending on the brand/store I varied between 4 sizes. 4! That should not be possible. One size should be one size matter where you go. and I claim the lowest number as my size too As for her, I don't care what size she is but I do like the second outfit better

According to Amy's Instagram she's between a 6 & 8. I think we're so used to these crazy underweight celebrities that compared to them she looks big. I believe she is the size she states.
Her point is that the plus sizes start at 16, and if people look at her body believing it's plus sized then what kind of message does that send?

I tell everyone I'm a size 8 (which is a 12 in the US I think). It doesn't mean I actually am a size 8, anywhere other than in my dreams.
And I don't care what size she is. I'm too worried about my own weight for it ever to occur to me to ponder what size other women are.

I stand corrected. She said between a 6-8. Still, I think thats an exaggeration.
and I also believe that we as women are allowed to discuss whatever the hell we want to discuss. I have already stated I think she's brilliant but a bit delusional regarding her size.

If you look at her twitter feed she said she's between a size 6 and 8. That's what I saw as well. She also said she has no issues with women of any size. What happened was her name was put on the front page special issue of Glamour celebrating women who are plus sized. She is not and they never asked to include her either. I don't blame her for being irritated. There's already so much photo shopping out there and now a magazine is saying she fits that category. So now more women are thinking shit, I can't win if that is considered plus size.

In my younger years at 5'9" and 160 I was no where near a 14-16. I wore anything between 7 junior and 12 misses depending if it was a top or bottom. Sizes are bigger now.
ETA: just to clarify, in bottoms I currently wear a 14, 16 is too big. I weigh 195-200.

And I have to say I am amazed at how any woman can look at another one and instantly know her clothing size and weight. They should totally get a job working as a carnie.

Putting aside the fact the I hate the fact that women are so obsessed with other women's weight, I'll add my 2 cents..... To me she looks like a size 12 (which is an 8 in US sizes). I think her boobs might put her up into a size 14 (US 10) in some outfits. I am a size 14 and Amy looks a shit-load better than me. Her legs are very toned. I absolutely love her body confidence, she looks amazing.

If someone looks like you, then you can guess their size. My body is a rectangular shape so I fit easily into things my size because I workout every day and Amy looks the same. I think we aren't used to seeing normal/average sized women on TV so they falsely look big.

If someone looks like you, then you can guess their size. No, I can't. It's a talent I lack. Rarely is there someone the same height and body type as me that I can safely say I'm sure of their weight and size.

I could see where she could be an 8. I'm 5'6 and when I was in the 160s I could wear a 10. She does not look plus size to me at all.

Perhaps you are too sensitive to participate in such a conversatin. Please accept my apologies for offending your delicate sensibilities.

She's not plus size and I can absolutely see her wearing a 6/8.
I like her body. I like that she doesn't have the too skinny look a lot of stars do. I don't find that attractive. I think she has killer legs and amazing boobs.

I know you are quoting Lumo, but my issue with your comments on this thread is how sure you are that Amy is lying. Like I said in a previous post, knowing a woman's size and weight is not something I can tell right away. Especially from a photo. You have every right to start a thread and a conversation.

No one has mentioned how photos and video make people look larger than irl.
I've seen celebrities in person and been shocked by how much smaller they actually are.
