No, and I think the people who ask must not know how to spell. Back in the day, if I saw it spelled that way, I would have thought the parents didn't know how to spell, either. Like I know a guy (older than me) named Michael, only it's spelled Micheal. Does anyone want to know how much that grates on my nerves?!? However, these days I see so many creative name spellings that I just think it's deliberate now. I do know a girl (a grown woman, I mean, but younger than me) spelled Jennyfur.I am 99.4 percent shocked. You can't be serious! Were the parents hoping for a puppy and had a girl instead? Wow! I have never actually seen it spelled Jeniffer, either. Very weird. And Micheal is like nails on a chalkboard to me as well. Ugh. Lisa

No but my guess is people are confused how many n's and f's there are in the name. Then again they should have seen the names of these celebrities written down: Jennifer Lopez, Jennifer Lawrence, Jennifer Aniston, Jennifer Garner, Jennifer Hudson and Jennifer Love Hewitt.

My sister spells her name with one N and it was only recently than I met another 1 N Jenifer. My mom said she hated the name Jenny so she spelled it that way to avoid the nickname. Honestly having the most popular name in the 70's spelled an uncommon way was probably way worse than the nickname Jenny. I remember one time on a paper in high school in which I referred to my sister, I got it circled with a red pen and points deducted. LOL My BFF since second grade also spells it this way. Which we thought was awesome because I was Carie in a sea of Carries and she was Jenifer in a sea of Jennifers.

I have an older brother who my Mom named Micheal and I bet it was because she couldn't spell LOL! He goes by Michael in his life, more often simply Mike, despite his birth certificate and never had a problem. I never understood the creative spellings but to each his own, no judgment. It always complicates a childhood:/. My name is Mariellen, named after grandmas Marion and Ellen, thus the spelling. People see Maribeth, Marilou, Marianne and never think twice BUT Mariellen is seldom pronounced correctly. I fixed the problem and became Mari haha. Jennyfur is ridiculous. Is that her given name or did she adopt it for herself? I agree that unique spellings complicate childhoods. I'm Kellee. My parents named 6 other children with normally spelled names :/

I get asked, "one N or two?" but not "one F or two?" I graduated high school with 5 other Jennifer's. Two n's, one f.

I know or am acquainted with probably 3 dozen women named Jennifer--at least. And not a one of them was spelled Jeniffer. Then if you take into account every time I have seen the name in books. magazines, newspapers, or online, or on TV or movie credits, again, never once have I seen Jeniffer. Even "Jennifer" born actress, Ginnifer Goodwin, chose to go the double "n", single "f" route when going with her current variation. That particular spelling annoys me. Is it pronounced Jiniffer?

I have a co-worker who spells her name with 2 ff's. My name was never been misspelled before I started working with her. Now, is it often misspelled at work.

No, but I did meet someone in college who didn't like to be called Jenny and said she preferred Niffer. Now that is WEIRD!

I have the weirdest spelled "Jennifer" name I've ever come across, but I did see the name "Jennipher" in some movie credits once.
But, no, to answer the original question, I don't know anyone who spells it with two f's, and I get asked that all.the.damn.time.
(Also, all of my 8 siblings' names start with g, plus my parents. #firstworldproblems)

I asked him why once and he said, "isn't that your name?". It became apparent he preferred Jennifer. Anyway, I would say now about half of everyone calls me Jennifer and the the rest is split between Jenny and Jen, with the exception of my dad and sister. Who spell my name "Jeni" and nomatter how much me or my mom argue that has never been my name my dad insists it is and my sister does it cause she "prefers" it. It's a wonder I know what to answer to really.

^^^ I have the same sort of mental thing with my name; my mom will write it as "Jen" (that's how she's always spelled it) but in my head, that seems wrong to me, ya know?? It has two Ns, so if it's shortened, I feel that it should be shortened to "Jenn" with the second N. LOL!! But she always writes it like that. (strangely enough, it's only her, though-- everyone else in my family writes it with the second N.)
And like I said, I really prefer to be called Jennifer by most people; someone will jump right into calling me Jenn, and it grates on me. I guess I go more with the 'that's my name' so don't shorten it unless you ask me if it's okay first' school of thought. To me, it seems like the person is being too familiar with me to jump right into a nickname if I haven't said it's okay with me to do so. (maybe that's a first-world problem, but I don't think so-- it's more an issue of respecting my opinioin, I guess.)

I just remembered that I worked with woman who went by Geri. Her full name was gerifer, as in her father was Gerald and her mother jennifer. So not a good combo of names.

I know one Jenniffer (double nn and ff). I used to have to email her a fair bit (business) and it took some getting used to.

Jenny... <shudder> Oh, it's perfectly fine for other people but somehow I never "felt" like a Jenny, lol. It would take me a while to realize someone was talking to me if they used that one.

Her last name is typically spelled with two ll's but the family spelling is one. So I always tell people her name and then say just one L in each name. They look at me like I'm crazy and I have to spell it out for them. We went with the one L spelling because my X (who is English) swore that only snooty posh people spelled it Annabelle. ( I am not a fan of Belle, so I went with his silly reasoning)

They must be the same people that ask if Molly is spelled "Molli".
My freshman roommate was Jennifer and she went by Jiff, but didn't use ff in spelling out her given name.

I hate to see Jeffrey spelled Jeffery. So many people spell it like this that it became an acceptable derivation. I mean I know Geoffrey is the original spelling of Jeffrey, but Jeffery just irks me. Like is the guy called Jeff ER y? ........... Ha! My brother is Jeff ery. He was named after our father so at least my mom isn't responsible for the goofy spelling, but it was just funny to see you zero in on that. The family "legend" is that somewhere back in the line, there was a Jefferson, so it was spelled this way to pay homage to that.

My daughter is an Annabel in a sea of Annabelle's! Annabel, Anabel, Isabel, Isobel all used to be fairly common spellings. I think it may because so many people seem to like Belle/Bella right now that the double L variations are so currently popular. (So your reason for using the Annabel spelling makes perfect sense to me! ) Those are both names in which I would ask how to spell it because I would not consider there to be one "typical" spelling. But with Jennifer, I automatically spell it Jennifer unless you forewarn me that you use a different version.

It's funny to see so many comments on Jenny/Jen/Jenn/Jennifer. Every Jennifer I have ever known has a very strong opinion on Jenny/Jen. You're one or the other, but never both. I don't know any Jennifer who is indifferent about them. I'm a never-ever Jenny person. And Jen/Jenn is specific too. I'm a one-n Jen. I never liked the way Jenn looked. It's not symmetrical But dh is Todd, and I hate it when people spell it Tod, and DS is still always Matthew, never Mat(t), so I'm totally inconsistent.

Nope. I'm 44 and have known lots of Jennifers, including my sister. I have never to my knowledge known a Jeniffer.
ETA my husband's name is Brian. On the phone people are always asking if it's Brian with an i or a y. He was born in 1971 people, it's an i!
