The other thread was just a teaser.
Let's discuss our dream trips on this one.
You can only post ONE dream trip. Pick your favorite, most luxurious, most out-of-reach-for-now, or whatever criteria, and post it here.
Then state who you would go with and if you think it could truly happen and when.
I'll go first.
Cruise to Fiji/New Zealand/Australia. By myself. Upon retirement in 20 years.

A trip to San Francisco with the husband which we're saving up for now. It's probably going to be in a few years when family 'stuff' is sorted.

Back to Australia, New Zealand and Fiji-- with my man- in 5 years. I went with 2 girlfriends years ago and it was a trip of a lifetime-- now I want to do it with my SO. But I would love to fly first class due to the super long flights. The older I get, comfort is important! Tubon- your post brought great memories for me. When I travel-- I like to think0 coud I live here. New Zealand is a bug YES! If I get a back up dream--- the British Isles- with a lot of time in Scotland!!

I'd love to tour the UK. In depth for at least a month. I'd love my whole family to go, but I'd settle for just DH. Probably couldn't happen until my kids are able to take a lot of time off -- one just graduated from college and is starting her first job, the other is heading to college in August. First class, comfy accommodations, and a personal guide/driver.

A return trip to The Maldives, a luxury suite on stilts over turquoise waters, glass viewing floor area and plunge pool, and very importantly, a personal butler/chef. I'd go with dh.....could we go.....? conceivably in a few years time if we didn't have any other hols in the meantime!

I want to cruise from Spain to Rome, Venice, somewhere in France and then back to Barcelona. The cruise is actually quite affordable, but its the cost of the airfare thats prohibitive for me right now. I'd like to go with my best friend from childhood. We went to Jamaica on a cruise in March and we had a blast together!

My reality dream (oxymoron?) trip is Ireland. We were supposed to go last year for our 50th birthdays and to celebrate being tuition free. But younger DS transferred schools and changed majors which put us behind in the plan. SO now we would like to go for our 30th anniversary in 2 years. It will probably be DH and me and possibly his older brother and his wife. I want to rent a car and drive and see as much as I can in 8-10 days. Stay in B&Bs and eat and drink where the locals do instead of tourist spots.
My silly dream trip is a solo trip to WDW. My family and friends think I am joking, but I would really like to go for about 5 days, all by myself. I have been there so many times with family and with friends, but I want to go alone. I can eat wherever I want. I can ride whatever I want. I can see whatever shows I want. But mostly, I want to spend time photographing all of the little details and hunting for them. If I am really dreaming, I would pay Tom Bricker from DisneyTouristBlog to come and give me a Disney photography lesson. I love his stuff.
ETA Sorry, I broke the rules and picked two. But the first one will happen someday.

I don't think I can pick just one, because there are so many places I'd like to visit someday.
So I just typed up on place, but then I deleted because I thought of somewhere else I'd like to go. Then I deleted that one. ugh. Nope, can't pick just one.

I have lots (one we are doing next month and one next summer)...
But one would be to hike and stay in the towns along the cinque terre. Probably be gone two weeks. Just my husband and me in 5 years or so.

Picking just one dream trip is really hard, but I think I'd love to do the Camino de Santiago all the way from Paris to Santiago de Compostela in Spain.
I'd love to take a couple of months and walk it with my husband. We'd spend some nights in hostels and some nights in beautiful hotels, just as Martin Sheen did it in the movie The Way.
I would love being in a foreign country for so long and seeing so much of the countryside. I'd enjoy meeting people on the journey from all over the world and in all different stages of life. I would do lots of sight seeing, but also concentrate on the spiritual aspect of the journey as well.

I had one dream trip, to Scotland and Ireland, and we did it 4 years ago. Everything else is icing on the cake! I'd love to go to Fiji some day, but it will have to wait until my special-needs old man cat passes on. Maybe five years, probably more likely ten with DH work schedule.

Stay in B&Bs and eat and drink where the locals do instead of tourist spots. We did this a couple years ago. Flew into London, drove to Stonehendge and then through Wales. Stayed in Wales for a week and dh did the Ironman Wales. Then drove the car on to a ferry over to Ireland. Spent 2 weeks driving around staying in B&B's. We had a good time...I would just like to go back and do it without the inlaws and not 6 months pregnant! Dream trip...hmmm. I don't know. Probably a month or two traveling around Asia? We did 2 months in Europe for our honeymoon and there are still places there I would like to go back to or that we missed. but we are planning to live in Europe for a year or two in the next couple years, so I know t hat will happen. We keep talking about Japan since dh did a semester there in college and I have never been. We love to travel and I have taught dh over the years that it is worth spending the money to do it nice rather than cheap. We do Cabo at least once every other year, Hawaii every other year, Yosemite once a year, Europe every couple years. Travel is so much fun!

We want to take a monthlong birding trip to Panama, Colombia, Ecuador (including the Galápagos Islands). We're planning on it for the summer before DS starts high school, so in six years. It will be DH, DS, and me.

So many places, so little money!!!
I think I would have to say Gernany, Austria, and Switzerland. I've been before, but I would love to spend a month or so exploring.

Trekking to Everest base camp in Nepal. Hoping we can do it before our knees get too old and weary, but not sure it will happen anytime soon since it will need to be a 3-4 week trip and work gets in the way...

I love reading all about your dream trips! You guys are so much more interesting than me. The one thing I always wanted to do was go on a cruise. Not so much now.

We want to go to Alaska inland and on water. I found a cruise for 8-10 people, $$$$ that would be fun, then do a trip inland to Denali, also up to Point Barrow AK. My brother was stationed there with Coast Guard in the late 70's. With no limits, we would fly to Vancouver and spend time then fly to Northern Alaska and work our way back down.

My dream trip is a Round-the-World trip. I love thinking about the places I'd go. A RTW cruise would be a great way to do it, if money was no object. On the other hand, I'd like to have more control of where and for how long. And since this is a dream, I'm going with my dream SO who I haven't yet met. I think it would be possible to do a scaled down version of a RTW trip in the next 5-10 years. If I don't meet the dream SO by then, I'll go by myself.

Why not throw in Churxhill and take a tundra buggy to see the polar bears?!

I would take DH along too! Not sure if/when it would happen. Already have a long list of trips planned for the next several years plus 2 kids that will be in college very soon and that will cut into our vacation budget!
