Both - I've lost a few expensive ones off the sides of boats and other ways - on a daily basis they're nice, but if I'm doing something where my clumsy ways can jeopardize them, I'll pull out w cheap pair. I have both and it depends on what I'm doing or where I am as to which ones I wear. Honestly, I probably wear the cheap ones more often.

Cheap. I break them easily.
DH has had 2 expensive pairs stolen at work so now I make him get cheap-ish ones. There more than my $10 ones but not as costly as he stolen ones.

I wear perscription now. Before that I wore contaccts and expensive sunglasses, they felt and fit better. Because they were expensive I took good care of them.
Before I could afford expensive glasses I wore cheap ones.

Mine are prescription ones, so they are expensive. I wish I could just buy a bunch of cheaper ones!

I rarely wear them. I need prescription sunglasses and I'm too cheap to buy them. If I do attempt to wear them, I get cheap ones.

I wear Maui Jim for the lenses (and styles) so expensive. Nothing compares to them. Once I got used to the lense - hard to wear anything else. My favorite style is the Baby Beach aviator. Those glasses were the best $$$ I ever spent, for real. I always had cheapies before but splurged- I could never go back. I even had the lenses replaced after they got damaged by spray type sunscreen (covered by the warranty). I have always been one to wear shades unless it is pitch black out because my eyes are sensitive. Wish I had known just how good "good" glasses are years ago.

I always lose the ones I love, expensive or not. Sometimes I get a super cheap dollar store pair of I'm in a pinch and need some. I can't seem to lose those. I could lean over a boat and let them fall in and I swear a scuba diver would surface, holding them and asking if anyone lost them.

Until I needed progressives I wore cheap sunglasses. I've had the same pair of prescription sunglasses for three years and haven't lost them yet <knocks wood>. It helps that I've become accustomed to putting them directly into their bright pink case when I'm not using them which makes it more difficult to accidentally leave them behind. Thats me, and the case always goes right to my bag. I have to often forgotten my real glasses in the car because I swifted to the sunglasses, and I live in a app. at the 3 th. floor! My routine now: after every swift, glasses in case, case in bag

I have one pair of prescription sunglasses but I didn't spend a lot on them had them made from Costco $95 nothing fancy or designer but theydoes the job. I can't wear contacts so prescription sunglasses are a must for me but I can't stand to spend a ton on them. The frames are nautica brand.

Mine were $6 on clearance from Kohl's. I have a second pair I keep in the car and found the pair I lost. The most expensive one was $20.
However, I wear contacts and can get away with cheap sunglasses.
DH paid over $200 for his prescription sunglasses. I got him to finally go for it almost 4 years after he lost his previous ones in an accident. He keeps them in the case they came in and will give them to me for safekeeping if needed.
The boys got transition glasses and love them. Ex was pissed that I let them get them because it meant paying $120 per glasses instead of $60.

I've got transition lenses in my prescription glasses - I keep seeing all these cute sunglasses - can't wear them as I'm as blind as a bat

I wear glasses all the time and don't want to switch glasses for sunglasses, which would have to be prescription (or spend the money for progressive lens prescription sunglasses!) So, I get the clip-ons that my optometrist sells and get ones that as closely match my regular glasses' shape as possible. They cost me $30 and do the job.
My husband got new glasses about six months ago and he got transition lenses for the first time. He seems happy with them.

I always buy cheap because. Drop them or lose them. Or my kids will take them and stretch them apart while trying to put them on their faces. If all of that happens with a cheap pair it's ok, I won't get upset.
I desperately want a pair of Ray Ban Wayfairs though. :/

Last year I bought an expensive pair, but I keep them in a case and try to take really good care of them.

I got a really nice pair with my vision plan a few years ago. My first pair of nice sunglasses. Prior to that I wore cheapies. Now I have to decide what I want to get because my nice ones were stolen out of my car when I accidentally left it unlocked. That's all they took out of my car and they took my DH's nice sunglasses out of his car too.

Like so many other peas, I love Maui Jim's.
My husband also loves Maui Jim's and it's the only brand he'll wear when we are out on the lake on our boat. He lost a couple of pairs when he forgot to take off his sunglasses before jumping in the water to cool off. Now he only buys the Maui Jim's that float.

I've always been a cheap sunglasses girl because I lose things like that. A few years ago I decided I was mature and responsible enough to buy the expensive Ray Ban Wayfarers I've wanted since 1984. Within the month, I left them on Space Mountain at Disney World and they were gone. I realized they were still in the car right as I was stepping out, but I was too far to get back in and get them. I immediately told the ride attendant, but they were never found. I did buy a replacement pair, but I waited a few months for the pain to diminish. Now I never wear them because I wear my glasses all the time. I buy cheap clip-ons for those because I leave them in a rental car about once a month.

Ten years ago when I had no bills I bought $400 sunglasses. Now I buy $200 sunglasses. I still drop them and they're fine. If you buy glasses from Sunglasshut they are insured for a year. My sunglasses never stay on my face, I am always pushed them back. Not sure if I have a funny shaped nose or what. lol Is there something I can do to my sunglasses so they fit better?

Cheap. I have a hard time paying $20 for a pair. My last ones I bought at Kohl's on a Thurs. Fri they got scratched in my purse and on Sat I lost them. I need to replace them this week as we are leaving for vacation soon.

I used to buy cheap ones and then about 10 years ago I splurged on $160 pair of Ray Bans. It's the last ones I bought. I love them and I take care of them. Lately I've been looking at another pair but I really can't find any I like better so I think I'll just save my money for now. They are one of the best things I ever bought myself.

Another Maui Jim pea. They are all I have worn for about the past 4 years. Even before that, though, I would still only wear polarized lenses. They make such a huge difference.
My backup to my 2 pairs of Maui Jims is a pair of Nautica polarized that I got as an Amazon deal of the day for like $30. They don't even begin to compare to my Maui Jims though...

Used to be $10 cheap ones for Target.
Then I was given a Maui Jim pair as a gift. THEN I found a cute pair of Ray Ban aviators that I needed. THEN I found a pair of Oakleys in rose gold!
My love affair with cheap sunglasses ended and a new one began. I do keep better care of them and am trying very hard not to lose them!

Where do you buy Maui Jims? Is it a specialty shop or can I get them at other retailers? I may google it tomorrow but I figure it doesn't hurt to,ask here too since so many people swear by them! Where did you get your Maui Jims?

Cheap! I'm really hard on glasses and it's not worth it to me to buy good ones. I do wear glasses for distance and I have transitions lenses. However, I don't wear them often. I stick to my cheap sunglasses.
