I'm totally with the "I'm too irresponsible for expensive sunglasses" camp. And truthfully, they just don't rank high enough on my priority list to spend money on them.
So, cheapies everywhere- my car, my house, my purse, the diaper bag.

I admit, I'm cheap with sunglasses. My most expensive pair are prescription, and they were about $100. They were looking a little beat up, so I just got a replacement pair on Zenni (which I highly recommend) for under $30. That's for driving/every day.
For the beach or on vacation, where I may end up losing glasses, I just use cheapy ones from Charlie's or places like that. Usually no more than $10 or $15.

Cheap. Because of what I do they get scratched up & bent & lost so I go through a few pairs every summer. There is a particular style that works great for me at DG for $6, so when they have them in stock I buy 4 or so at a time.

I have cheap pairs and I have expensive pairs. I wear them all the time so I have to have multiply pairs. I like bug eye glasses and They are not easy to wear with hats so I have small pairs for my hat days. I also like the ones that kinda curve around your face so the sun doesn't come through between the glasses and the eyes.

Where do you buy Maui Jims? Is it a specialty shop or can I get them at other retailers? I may google it tomorrow but I figure it doesn't hurt to,ask here too since so many people swear by them! Where did you get your Maui Jims? Sunglass Hut carries them. So do many optical shops where you would buy your prescription glasses.

Mine are prescription so expensive. But if I didn't need prescription then I'd buy tons of cheap ones so that I could change my look. You know, Zenni offers cheap prescription sunglasses. I have a pair and they are perfect, spent all of $8.95 on them (I'm single vision lens though but progressive lens wouldn't be too much more).

I have single vision lens as well but at the regular eyeglass place they're anywhere between $500-$1K. It's ridiculous. I'm so going to try Zenni!! Thank you!

MizIndependent... That was seriously so not helpful. Stupid Zenni link. Humpf! I spend between $500-$1K for sunglasses at the eyeglass place. They're single vision lens, with a dark amber tint and anti-glare and whatever. Very nice, great sun protection but super pricey. So I come here and you send me to Zenni. You give me a link that says I can turn any pair of glasses from the company into sunglasses. I look through the inventory and see they have some really nice things. So I dig out my most recent prescription and give it a go. Thinking this is great I'm going to have some cool shades and save some money. Hey the frames are all about $30 or less and all the sunglass add-on stuff is only a couple bucks. Except yeah 1 pair from eyeglass place $500 vs 663435343863 pairs from Zenni does not equal big savings. Ok I'm being silly. I checked out the site and wanted to say thank you. I've apparently been living in a cave as I've never heard of Zenni. They have, what look to be, really nice glasses. I ordered 2 pair and can't wait for them to arrive so that I can try them out. Though seriously if they're really nice I will probably end up with roughly 75 pair of sunglasses. lol Thanks....I think.
