I didn't make it back after I posted in May. I have been busy with work and life. I am currently on vacation till June 30th! I need it!
I am having more surgery on my right eye on June 17th. I still have quite a bit of astigmatism left which is causing me issues in seeing correctly. Thankfully, my left eye is clear now but it is for reading so I have a hard time reading at a distance or making things out. I am not looking forward to the recovery time but I will be happier in the long run.
Tomorrow is my birthday and I plan to go see a 3D movie and have lunch or dinner at my favorite restaurant. Then relaxing at home in the evening. I hung out with my parents and sister today to celebrate.
kellyr21, Happy Belated birthday to you! I hope you had an enjoyable day.
I am at the coffee shop and they are about to close. I hope to check in sooner since I am on vacation.

Jana, knutschen, I hope you have a great Birthday week. I'm sorry that you have to have eye surgery again, but we want you to be able to see well. Will be thinking of you and praying for you on the 17th. I hope this surgery takes care of the problem. Glad you are doing well otherwise. Well, things are all set up for Cousin Camp to start tomorrow morning. Sunday with 25 people here, we realized how tiny our home is!! But we had such a great meal together. We were only missing one grandson who was out of town and we had an extra...oldest DGD's serious boyfriend. My redheaded grandchildren were so excited to see that he's a redhead too! I'll try to check in this week, but not making any promises.

Glad your family celebration went well, nylene . So funny about the additional ginger! Bet the cousins' camp will be a blast. Mostly gardening around here. Fit in some Fathers' Day cards and a couple of pages, HERE and HERE

Happy Tuesday! I hope to get a few cards done today and also wanted to finish that paper plant project I started at M's last week. Guitar class is over and my fingers need a little break. LOL! Soreeeeee! I am thinking about taking the next session that starts later this month so we'll see. Just glad I gave it a try. Lisa- I had my last guitar lesson last Thursday and overall I enjoyed the class. Have you ever learned how to play an instrument? As a kid I had piano lessons but didn't like it enough to stick with it. So maybe I will revisit the piano down the road too. Gramamadee- Wow, eleven grands? That is terrific! I wonder if you have more than Nylene? It must feel so special to see them and get to spoil them too. Jana- Great to see ya! Yes, I did have a great birthday and hope you enjoyed yours. Take care of yourself girl! Nylene- Oh boy you are gonna have so much fun with your family. Can't wait to hear all about it. Cindy- Those Cavs are keeping hope alive. So glad they won last night! I am pulling for both teams back and forth! LOL

nylene , we know you're off enjoying camp, as it should be. We'll wait until you are finished and recovered to come tell us about it. grammadee , glad it dried out enough for you to get back in the garden. kellyr21 , I lived in a little town growing up. I took piano lessons until the teacher moved away to be closer to her grandkids. I would have had to travel to continue and didn't want to burden my parents with that. I then took saxophone in school. I loved it. But the other girl, who was also really good at sports, got all the accolades. So I thought I must suck. I convinced my parents to let me quit before report cards came out. Once I quit there was no going back. When I received my report card I had the A+, the other girl had a B. I've always regretted it. Don plays bass and ds is learning guitar so I know about the sore fingertips. It does get better I'm told. We're going to go with Don to work next week and then go see family in southern Illinois and in Chicago. We will finally get to see my two grand-nephews that were both born last November (My 2 nieces who are sister (1 from TX will be up). So I'm already trying to get a handle on that. It's more difficult when you have to pack your own food for someone with allergies. My sister's won't be that big of an issue as she can cook from scratch and is quite creative. Plus I'm comfortable enough to make myself at home in her kitchen. But I need to make sure I have ingredients that might be more difficult to find in a rural setting. At my FIL's, well, I told hubs he's going to have to be the one in charge as I'm not comfortable there. So I have some easy meals planned. I started clearing out some of the kids items that have been piled in the craft room. They just moved to the living room so they could clean and sort through the items before they go upstairs. But I can now get to the shelf with the bathroom towels easily, something that has been a struggle for 4 months. Baby steps. Off to bed for me. Goodnight.

LisaDV - Yeah, those sore fingers! LOL! I hear it is supposed to get better too. I plan on practicing for a while until I decide if I will take the next session. Wow, you took piano and sax. Were you in the school band or just a class? At school, I never took an instrument but was in the choirs from jr. high to high school. I love choir. Never too late to pick up that sax again. LOL! I am sure you still got "it." Oh and your family trip should be fun. One summer ages ago, we went to Detroit, Chicago, Ohio and even Canada. My dad was from Chicago. So I met lots of family and saw lots of family places. Boy was it humid too. LOL! That was my first and only time in that part of the country. Also,I was so surprised by all the corn fields on the way to Ohio. We don't have scenes like that out here. Hope you are having a nice day! Hey gals, waving hello to you all. Take care!

Here is the last paper project I did at M's. I finally finished it yesterday. It was a lot of cutting and tracing but it was sort of therapeutic in a fun way. It was way too much to finish in class but I enjoyed learning how to make these plants. It seems like I can do the same thing and make flowers. Hummmmm.... That plant frame just screams "It's Spring!" kellyr21 Left you some love in the Gallery. What with Michaels and your guitar lessons, you have been very artsy, lately. Don't worry about your fingers. After awhile, you will develop a callous on each of the fingertips you use most, so playing won't be so painful. Some guitars are much easier to play than others: strings closer to the frets. Also there may be something you can clip on that pushes the strings closer to the neck of the guitar. Not sure what it is called. I don't play guitar, but all my brothers and a couple of my sons do. Can't wait to hear about Cousin Camp, nylene Bet you are having a well deserved rest now. LisaDV , I hope your trip goes well. If you can't cook for your dd, can you bring along enough snack items that she can fill in for what she can't eat on the general menu? Yesterday, we finished weeding and put up the pea fences in the garden. And dh managed to cultivate between the rows with the tractor, so it is good for awhile. Today I played with some photos of my dil with her two lively little boys. Did my family May calendar. It is on Flickr HEREThe out takes were really funny, because those boys really did NOT want to sit still, so I did 2 pages for my spring album with them. My dil was a rodeo barrel racer, so the western theme will be appreciated. Those pages are on Flickr Here and hereI have attached the photos below directly from my computer.

Happy Saturday evening! We had a nice day at the beach. We are at the beginning of a heat wave here so lots of folks had the same idea to go to the beach. LOL! So it was a little busier than usual but we finally found a quieter spot on the bay and really enjoyed ourselves. I did do a little scrapping the other day and worked a few cards, too. Hope you gals are having a nice day.
Grammadee- Your dil was a rodeo racer? Wow! How cool is that! How did she get into it? Your pages are cute too with the western theme.
Nylene- Hope you are having a great time with your family! Enjoy!
Cindy- Tomorrow is the big game! I sure hope the Cavs can make history but if the Warriors win it will be epic too.

Thanks for the love in the Gallery, kellyr21 ! Rodeo is like any other sporting activity out here on the prairies. The ds she is married to was a bull rider for awhile. I am home again. Drove back today from the one day crop. I was thinking I had completed 9 pages, but when I counted them here at home I actually completed 11. My goal was to finish ten, so I am happy. Will take a pic of one or two of them tomorrow. Nothing really fancy. Some of the ladies there were doing labour intensive pages, and one of them (on the store DT) is an amazing scrapbook artist, so I got lots of ideas. The host is thinking of another one day crop for kit members in July and also a techniques based class series in the fall. Would love to learn how to use some of the media the one gal was using! Hoping everyone had a great weekend and a good Fathers' Day. I was wondering what we would do for Fathers' Day as none of the kids could come, but Dh's nephew & his wife hosted a weiner roast for supper tonight, so all I had to do was pick up dessert in the city and bring it.

Good Monday morning Pokey's
I have not been around in a while. I was displaced from my scraproom for a little over a week due to grand girls visit, I have been spending all my "free" time (time not at work) working on our yard since our return from Hovenweep. Had a rough couple of weeks at work, so did not have time to check in with the Pokey's (or anything else for that matter) from the work computer either.
I had planned to put up a blog post this morning, but I can not find the cords to download the photos of the project I was working on this weekend. My first opportunity back in my scraproom since our return from Hovenweep. I had a great time. I will try to find the cords tonight when I get home from work so I can get the detailed blog post up. In a nutshell however.....I have a ton of travel paper memorabilia that I have wanted to incorporate in to my travel albums, but I have struggled to include these items. Many are fold out brochures or multi-page pamphlets and I want to be able to access the information. I have occasionally made a pocket on a 12 x 12 spread and slipped these inside, but I really did not want to do that for every pamphlet I have. Since I started using the big D ring binders, I really wanted to just put them in an 8 1/2 x 11 page protector and put them with the layouts of the trip, but they always looked so sloppy just stuck in the page protector. Since the introduction of the fuse, I thought I could use that to present the literature in a more pleasing way. I finally purchased one (before the grand girls visit), and have been anxious to see if my vision worked. I am very happy with the results, and I am anxious to show you the results.
Hopefully I will have a chance to catch up a read all your posts no that I am back in my room. (oh yea, and once I did get back in my room, I couldn't get on my computer for a few days because my mouse went out so I had to get a new one)
Have a wonderful day!

I am exhausted but have had such a wonderful week. I haven't had time to even check out all your fun projects, but wanted you to know that I am still alive. Angie and family left yesterday. Her baby (2) was not feeling well the whole trip, so I never really got my hands on him. He stayed in his dad's lap for most of the week and slept a lot. Yesterday, just before they left, he perked up, interacted with us and was so cute. Maybe next trip we can get some loves. They got the home they put an offer on, so are going home to pack up and move. I have to get the house back into livable shape, but will be back to catch up on everything. Great to "see" you maribeth. How did the surgery go, knutschen? Hope you are seeing better soon. More later.

I have not been able to link my photos directly from Flickr into these threads since Windows 10 took over my computer. I can give you the link OR the photo direct from my computer. I uploaded 3 pages from my weekend crop to my photostream HERE Looking forward to seeing your Fuse adventures. Good to hear from you, too, nylene . Hope that little guy is feeling better soon. We had that happen last summer when Jacob was here. Really disappointing when you are looking forward to snuggles. Sounds like they have a busy time ahead of them. How far away do they live from you? How far are they moving? Hope you can get rested up and then be able to spend more time with us again.

Well, the house is livable again and I'm taking a breather! I hope I haven't missed any of your projects. I think I left love on each. grammadee, what fun to have a scrap retreat with a friend. I'm sure you learned lots and it sounds like there are more to come. Your pages are wonderful. I think your little bicycle grandson could be best friends with our little Alex. Such busy bodies. LisaDV, are you still away? I'm not sure how long you were staying. I hope the food situation can be worked out. That's a problem when you travel and stay with others, I'm sure. maribeth, sounds like things have been crazy at your house too. I hope you can settle back in and do some leisurely camping. kellyr21, I love your paper plants. As I looked at them on my ipad I thought they were a collection of some plants...not paper plants. Good job. I'm glad you are liking your Michaels classes. How are the sore fingers? You will develop callouses as others said. I remember thinking mine would be sore forever. scrapincin, are you having any time for scrapping? I'm sure you are working to get your yard in shape. Take care of yourself. About Cousin Camp, 9 year old Sammie (our resident list maker) had an agenda for each of us. She had her grandpa cut a piece of tree limb and drill holes so they could thread plastic lacing through it and add beads for each activity. By the time she left she had 25 beads added. We did dress up and tea party, painting of frames, adult coloring books, bubble tag, sidewalk chalk, playing restaurant, reading aloud together, watching a movie, cutting paper dolls with the Cricut, die cutting flowers and embossing them, learning to heat emboss, playing card games, Jenga, and Aggravation, etc, etc, etc. The 2 boys did most of the same things, but spent a lot of time in the Wood Shop. They made stilts and each made an Aggravation board. They really had fun with Grandpa. They learned to use the drill press and thought that was pretty neat. Drew also made a pencil holder for his mom. We had such a good time, but it was nice when they all went home. LOL! grammadee, you asked how far away my DD lives. It's about a 16 hour drive to her home and they are moving about 2 towns over from where they are now. Their lease runs out on July 15 and they close on the house July 15. Not sure how that can work, but they think they can stay a few days and pro-rate the rent. Sorry for the novel. It's good to be back chatting with you sweet ladies. Have a great week everyone!

Happy Monday! It is HOTTTT out here and I am staying cool. So lots of resting and playing along with regular household stuff. We had a nice weekend and hope all your dh's had a nice Father's Day. Here is a page I did of myself from a breezy beach day back in the Spring.
Fun Day by Kelly Roberts, on Flickr Maribeth- So glad to see ya and glad all is well. You were busy and I hope you can find some time to play in your scraproom soon. Cindy- That game was so great and I am so happy to have witnessed NBA history. Incredible story and hope your family enjoyed. Ron and I were going a little crazy with joy too. Hope you are feeling better too. Jana- Waving hello! Take it easy and hope you continue to get better. Grammadee- Your crop sounded fun. You did get lots of pages done. When you mentioned about your dil and ds being into "western" activities I was surprised because when I think of cowboys and cowgirls I think of our American history. Didn't know you all have a similar culture of cowboys. So cool to learn something new. I grew up in a urban city but my neighborhood was semi-rural. Lots of folks had all types of farm animals. I had a horse and a lamb. I guess I am a city country gal! LOL! Nylene- Oh boy did you all have a great time! Can I be one of the cousins??? LOL! That's right I am already an adopted family member. That is so awesome what you did for the kids. All those activities and fun. This is better than going to summer camp! So cool Nylene and glad you and your dh survived! Oh and great news to hear your dd and family got a new home. So now you get to rest from all the joy.

kellyr21, Beautiful LO! I really love the flowers and the background paper. Very nice! nylene, cousin camp sounds like it was fun! I had my surgery on Friday and all went good. It was weird this time since I was able to see as last time I couldn't see anything without my glasses. I felt like the laser was really close to my face which I couldn't tell that with the original surgery. I had another follow up appointment today and my eye is healing as planned. My vision is still blurry out of my right eye but that is to be expected. It took a few weeks last time before I could see good. I still have some discomfort but not like it was. I am still on vacation from work and taking it easy.

I love your page, kellyr21 So pretty. Not sure how much if any crafting I will be doing in the next few weeks. I have a page started on the counter, but not really sure where I am going with it... Tomorrow I have hair and dr. appointments. After that I need to get this place in order, so we are all ready for the girls who will arrive June 30th. We will have the 10-yr old and the almost 6-yr old for a few days, while the 14-yr old & her mom stay with their dance group an hour & a half away. Then our dil and oldest girl will drive out here. Dd & her family are planning to join us as well: the little guy is super excited to see his cousins again. Our activities will depend on our oldest dgd's dance schedule. We may go watch her dance. There is a country fair in that town as well, and the Ukrainian Cultural Village is a bit further down the road: we may go there as well. And there is a big Canada Day happening in our local town. Even without planned outings, the kids usually find a lot to do here. nylene , your cousin camp sounds really cool. I know you are exhausted afterward, but it must be really wonderful to see them all interacting and have them making lists of things to do and then carrying out their list. Love that they got to craft with you AND with Grampa!

Happy Tuesday
Oh boy I received happy mail in my mailbox yesterday, but I don't know what it is. It's a B-day present from my sister in Iowa. Can't wait to open it.
I found one of the camera cords I was missing and uploaded my photos to my blog, but I need to photograph a couple of other pages for inclusion in the blog post and hubby had a sleepless night and finally laid down on the couch and is sleeping soundly right now and I don't want to go dig through my scrapbooks (which are in the living room) and disturb him. Hopefully I can finish it tonight.
Okay Pokey's here is your challenge for today - Make it a GREAT one!

maribeth , so nice to have your happy, smiling face and attitude back! We all missed you. I'll wait til next week to wish you Happy Birthday. Be sure on the 30th to check the Birthday thread in NSBR. See what @mytnice chooses for your cake. knutschen , Jana, I am so happy that the surgery went well and that you are able to see. I hope you continue to heal well and quickly. Oh, grammadee , it sounds like you are going to have Cousin Camp at your house with the grandchildren. What fun to be able to see your DGD dance, the Cultural Festival and other fun places around you. Having the farm for them to play is a fun experience by itself. I hope you have a great time together. kellyr21 , I love your layout. That is a pretty photo of you and I love the fussy cut flowers. You should do layouts more often. They are always so pretty.(and so are your cards and other projects!!) Steve's home so I need to run. I agree with Maribeth, make it a great day!

Good evening all! Sorry I have not been on for a few days! We have been working on our kitchen-I have looked at the same dark paneling on the lower half of my kitchen for 40 plus years so it came down yesterday. We are painting and adding a new look which I will scrap as soon as it is done! I have also been helping my friend with photos of her family members that had been in the military. I think I caught up in the gallery now trying to catch up on chat!
Nylene-sounds like Cousin Camp was a roaring success but I think I would have slept for a week. Wow what a list of activities! I bet those boys loved working with grandpa in the new wood shop.!
Kelly-Girl friend I was stunned at the end of that game! I was sure that Curry would sink a 3 pointer and beat us! This place is still going crazy. Not sure if I ever told you but LeBron went to the same grade school as the grands! Akron is his hometown and he now lives very near Akron. Your art work lately is just showing us your love of art!
Grammadee- Wow you are such a busy lady if you are not spending time with the grands you are scrapping or cropping! I can't keep up! Your garden sounds amazing. We plant a few things but not as much as you are. Oh how you will enjoy that produce.
Maribeth-so glad to see you back! We really missed you!
Lisa-missing you too! Hope your shoulder is feeling better!
Jana=wow I am so glad you can see so that you will not have to wear your glasses. My neighbor had cataract surgery and had to have a second laser one also. It did help her a lot.
Ok I hope I addressed the chat but I need to get busy so will talk to you later!

Good Wednesday morning fellow Pokey's!
Still working on my blog post - took new photos to illustrate my project, but of course now I can't find the cord to that camera. I fear it may have departed the house with the grand girls, as I have looked everywhere. I may have to order one.
Feeling very calm this week, which for me is GREAT!
What are the rest of you going to do with this Wonderful Wednesday we have been given?

Sorry to have not been on we were busy with outside work and inside cooking that needed to take place in order to leave. My shoulder seems better. I've been doing normal activities. We left yesterday and our now in Grand Rapids. Today is just a hotel day - swimming at the pool and vegging out in the room. Don let me download PSE to his laptop so I hope to even get some digital scrapbooking finished today. knutschen, so glad to hear the surgery went well. I was praying and thinking about you. maribeth, so glad to "see" you back. Glad you had time with your grands. Please post the links to your blogs when you get up your posts. I have to add them to my bloglovin' feed. kellyr21, nylene, & grammadee, so glad to see some layouts being accomplished. I will get to the gallery to leave you all love on your gorgeousness and creativity soon. Nylene, sounds like cousin camp had another successful year. Sorry the baby was sick. I love Sammie's bead idea! Grammadee, Enjoy your grands! Cindy, sounds like you have been super busy with a kitchen update. It's always so much more work than you anticipate. Wishing everyone a relaxing day!!

Hello everyone. I had planned to get on here last night, but we had a huge thunderstorm and it seemed to negatively affect our internet service. We got almost an inch of rain in 20 minutes. Lots of thunder & lightning.
Today dh hopes to pick up a half pallet of sod to cover the area he had cleared off last year to put in the play park in the back yard. He has been spending the last few days with the tractor layering and leveling and smoothing the dirt. The heavy rain actually helped with that process but he is not sure the people at the sod farm will be able to load the sod for him. If he gets it, that will be the project for today.
I need to finish off the page on my counter so I can stow away all my crafty supplies. Then I can start the cleaning project on this house to get it ready for the arrival of the girls next week.
Good to hear from everyone. Have a wonderful Wednesday!

Hi, everyone! It is so much fun to come here and chat with all of you wonderful women. I learn so much from you. No one could have better virtual friends!! Cindy, scrapincin, I hope your kitchen is coming along nicely. I can't wait to see what it looks like. Did you take before photos? grammadee, a play park in the backyard would be much loved by the grands. I hope you can get your sod in today. That's heavy work. LisaDV, I hope you enjoy your hotel day. I'm very relieved that your shoulder is feeling better. I was praying you wouldn't need surgery on it. Be kind to it! Hope you have a great trip. maribeth, I wouldn't be surprised if your cords went home with the grands. We had 3 cords left here after the kids left. When they came to get them, they almost took one of ours. I think I am going to make everyone put a label with their name on their cords when they come. Today I am tending Alex while Em takes ice cream and some perishables up to Girls Camp. He has decided that he loves my Cuttlebug and always wants to emboss all my scraps. What a funny little boy. He will make me more tired than the whole Cousin Camp. (he's too young to sleep over with the other kids but comes for a few hours with the cousins) I have a page started about him, but it's not coming together and probably won't today! Have a wonderful, productive day today!

Cindy, scrapincin, I hope your kitchen is coming along nicely. I can't wait to see what it looks like. Did you take before photos? nylene , I am hoping scrapincin took before photos too! Jim and I are so sad we did not take before photos of the backyard area that we had let go for the last 3+years. It was a little fenced off section and we originally got it all set up for me to put a seasonal above ground pool in. However I quickly learned that even though we can get very warm daytime temps, it cools down so drastically in the evenings that it takes too long to warm up and therefore there really is very little "swim time". So after we stopped putting up the pool, we really stopped doing anything in that area and it became totally as wasted, ugly, weed invested area. We decided to clean it up these season. We laid sod, put in some plants, put up our fountain, put our patio furniture (which we never used on the other patio), and it really is turning out nice (still some things to do). But it is such a drastic change to us, it would have been fun to see the before and after photos. I think we always hate to take before photos, because we can't believe we let it get so bad before we change it - LOL.

Happy Wednesday! It is a nice day today and I hope to enjoy myself. In addition to all the crafts I have been doing and guitar my dh and I have been working on plans for our card business. It has been fun going down memory lane and reliving some of the great moments as well as seeing some of the cards I made. Boy, have I made a lot of cards over the years. Whew! So I hope we can really get things moving this year and create some more opportunities. I would love to see my cards sold in cute shops and boutiques so that is what I am targeting. Fingers crossed! Thanks for all the praise you all left on my last page. I have been working on another layout too. I got some photo paper and wanted to start printing my own pictures again. But the paper is matte but I thought it would still have the texture and quality of photo paper without the glassy front. But it is just like plain ole cardstock. That was a bummer but maybe I will use the pictures anyways. Jana- So glad all went well. Take it easy and I hope you are enjoying this break from work. Nylene- Yes, I would like to scrapbook more if I had more pictures to talk about. LOL! Glad you home is back to normal now and hope you little dgs and you have a ball today. Cindy- "CLEVELAND, THIS IS FOR YOU!" I just loved hearing LBJ shout this out after the game. So happy for you all! I was watching some of the rally today. OMG, there were tons of folks out there and it was a sight to see. I love at the end when Jim Brown passed the trophy to LBJ. What a moment! WOW! Also, I am looking forward to seeing your new and improved kitchen. It does feel nice to spruce up the place. I still got some decorating things I want to do here and maybe this summer I can get it going. Lisa- Have a great trip! Relaxing at the hotel and sitting pool side sounds like my kind of party! Grammadee- Sounds like you are planning for "cousin's camp" part 2! I know you will have a great time. I think it is so awesome how you, Nylene and Cindy do all these fun things with your dgks. I had a wonderful grandma and all the things she shared I am still carrying into my adult life. Great memories you ladies are building and that is just terrific! Maribeth- So frustrating when you can't find something! I hope you can get another cord soon. It is so funny how a little cord can upset our craft routines! I totally get it! Glad you are having a good week too.
