Good evening ladies! I can not believe I did not take photos of the kitchen before but I have so many pics of the grands baking and doing activities in there I am sure I can find one that shows the old paneling. I found the chair rail today-it is so pretty and goes with the decorative tile I have in my backsplash. Jeremy has to paint the baseboards and put them back down, so it will be a couple more days before it is done. tomorrow he has an activity to take Maggie to at the library. They have been doing different activities at the library this summer.
Kelly-That was the longest parade in history! I could not believe it but I loved how LBJ went player by player and talked about the great traits of each one and gave the entire team credit for winning that championship. He will be Akron tomorrow night addressing the city of Akron and his foundation with the the Akron Public Schools. His Promise program is outstanding. The kids promise to work hard and graduate from high school and his foundation will pay for their education at the University of Akron. What an incentive and I love that he encourages the kids to get an education. He has done a lot for the his hometown.
going to run for now I am tired! Be back tomorrow!

It's Thursday this morning Pokey's! It is going to be a looooooooooong day today! Seems like it is feast or famine at my job. Either so much is going on that the stress level is out of this world, or there is nothing for "three" of us to do here in the office and we are all just staring at our computer screens, and fighting over any bit of work that comes up that we have to take care of. Today - I have nothing on the agenda to do, but who knows, the boss may have a crisis and my entire day will change in an instant. Right now, wishing I was able to go home and work on my projects. scrapincin - can't wait to see the photos of your newly revamped kitchen kellyr21 - I hope you are successful in your card business endeavor, please keep us all posted Whatever you do this Thursday Pokey's, it will be a wonderful day I am sure!

The sod is down. When it finally got here, it took only a couple of hours to do the actual laying, but it was the hottest part of the day by then. Dh rolled it with the golf cart, so that part was a bit easier. He has to go out and trim the edges and fill in a couple of places today, but the bulk of the work is done. And nature helped out by sending a little rain last night. Having a card business sounds like the best of both worlds, kellyr21 ! You create lovely cards. Finding the right market is probably key. Hope it all works out for you. Hope your trip continues to go well, LisaDV . nylene , I hope you are all rested up from Cousins Camp. Although having that active little guy around does not look like a restful experience Don't know why they call it baby SITTING! And I hope you have a ton of photos to scrap so you can relive the whole experience. I seem to be able to stretch a 2 day experience over a month of scrapping, and then can go back to the fun over and over. Hope your day isn't too long, maribeth .Do you at least have AC at the office? Or a window to look out of? Looking forward to pic's of your new kitchen, scrapincin ! Have a wonderful Thursday! Dh is in town this morning. I need to get to serious cleaning, but am thinking I might use the alone time to put together a few cards I need for July. Will decide after my second cup of coffee...

Hope your day isn't too long, maribeth .Do you at least have AC at the office? Or a window to look out of? Actually I freeze in my office, I always have a sweater on. And i don't like sunshine so I keep my blinds closed. It would be prefect if I could live where it is foggy and gloomy most of the time (Pacific Northwest). I do open the blinds if we have any weather events though, I love a good storm. Is it really only 9AM - LOL

Lots of housework yet to do for this pokey, and I am not getting any faster... Was hoping the girl who sometimes comes to help with cleaning could come this next week, but she is unavailable, so it will be all me...
Cleaned my scraproom yesterday. It is nice to see all the work space open and ready for action, but except for a couple of cards needed for next week, I'm not allowing myself to get distracted. Bedrooms and bathrooms today.
It rained again in the night, so the sod is getting a nice start. Dh has gone to town, but when he comes back he plans to set the climbing dome into its spot and fill in around it with playground mulch. He often gets carried away with his need for perfection rather than functionality, but he seems to be zoned in on having everything finished for the girls next week.
He wants to put in a huge sand area with a gazebo (just a tent style gazebo: not the whole wood project, I hope) over top of it, but maybe he can do that when dd's hubby is here. Right now the spot for the sand pit is the low spot, so it keeps filling up with water. I know the little guy will LOVE that: has already played in that mud and I have the photos! But as for coming in and out of the house, sand is a much better option!
Anyway, I need to finish my coffee and step away from the computer soon. Maybe instead of bedrooms and bathrooms I will focus on getting my art supplies put away in the basement. I keep all the messy stuff down there, and work on a cardboard on top of the deepfreeze. Since the dgk's spend a lot of time in the basement when they are here, I need to put away the most tempting stuff, and take it out only when we have supervised craft sessions. (They have their own supplies, but somehow Gramma's are much more fun...
Happy Friday, Pokeys!

Well, that thunder storm last night did SOMETHING right! Finally, I can share photos from Flickr again. Have not been able to do that since my PC automatically upgraded to Windows 10! Will have to adjust the size later, but I was so excited, I had to do this now! April 17 by Gramma Dee, on Flickr meeting dyan by Gramma Dee, on Flickr meeting Dyan 2 by Gramma Dee, on Flickr

Happy Friday! Wishing you all a nice weekend too. I know you all will be happy to know I have been working on a layout. LOL! I hope to finish it up today. I have a few more to do and hope to start on those next week. Did some more cleaning up today so now I can reward myself with more fun, right? Thanks for all the support for my little card business. I will keep you all posted as some of my dreams come true.
GrammaDee- All that rain should make your garden happy. Do you all have farm animals too? It sounds like a very green and lush area you live in. We are all city/suburb here. Maybe that is why I love going to the parks and even the golf course. It feeds the country gal in me.
Cindy- Wow, I didn't know Lebron had all that wonderful stuff going on in Akron. That is so neat that he is really giving back to his city/area. Wow! Yes, I thought it was awesome how he gave each player some praise. That was really special. Last night my L.A. Lakers got the second pick and we are hopeful our season will be better. Last year was a hot mess! LOL!
Maribeth- Hope you day got better and have a restful weekend!

Looks good, Kelly! I left some love in the Gallery.
Still on housework and gardening mode here. Finished one bd card yesterday. Too gloomy to get a photo today.
Kelly, you asked about animals on our farm. Our only animals are dogs and cats, but in the summer the neighbour pastures his cattle right next to our yard, and another neighbour seeds and harvests a crop. Both are rental agreements.
And then dh helps his nephew with his small herd (about 50 cows with calves, a couple of bulls and a donkey) about 3 miles from here.

Wow when you are done grammadee you can come here and do some housework! LOL Good evening all! The kitchen is coming along but it is not quite done., The baseboards still have to be painted and then get reapplied. It will probably be Tuesday before anything else is done as DSIL will be working on their air conditioning. It never rains but it pours you know. I am loving it though. It is 85 here today and going to be 90 some tomorrow. I got some laundry done today and put some of the kitchen back together. Grammadee and @kelly21 I left you both love in the gallery for your great pages! Not much going on here so going to close but will check in again later!

Wow when you are done grammadee you can come here and do some housework! LOL To quote one of my dgk's, Cindy, "No fanks". If I liked to do housework, it prob would not take me as long to do it when it HAS to get done! More of the same today. I usually go room by room, but I have been doing more job by job this time. Need to do bathrooms and vacuum the bedrooms upstairs today: that will complete that level. And, as I have been sorting through things at the same time as cleaning, I need to get a bunch of stuff out of here to go to Good Will or the garbage dumpster. Hope to make a bd card and an anniversary one today, but somehow my right brain goes to sleep when I am purging and cleaning, so may have to look for some ideas first. Don't need them til early July, but we may have a postal workers' strike by then, so I wanted them finished and into the mail tomorrow. Thanks for the love in the Gallery. Hope you all have a marvelous rest of the weekend!

Hey ladies and happy Sunday! It is a warm one today but a beautiful day. Thanks for all the compliments on my last lo. I do like how it turned out. Now I have a few more to do this week. I just posted a new blog post about one of my favorite moments with my card business. Hope you take a look. Looking BackCindy- Oh your kitchen is gonna be so nice. I know you and the grands will be doing lots of baking in there for the holidays. Grammadee- Your area sounds similar to what I grew up with. We had dogs and cats. Then, I had a lamb and a pony for a short time. But other neighbors had more animals. But we didn't have as much space as you. I hope the neighbors share some of that meat and milk from the cows with you. LOL! Waving hi to you other gals and have a nice evening!

Happy Monday Pokeys' Let's try this post again. I hate it when I hit the reply button at the top right instead of the Post Quick Reply at the bottom left - why do I do that? ?? grammadee, kellyr21 - great pages, left love for you. kellyr21 - great blog post, what a great experience you had - how fun Well it's Monday and back to work for me - not happy about that - but you guys already new that. I had a pretty good weekend. I had a mani/pedi on Saturday morning and a nice walk with hubby and Bandit on Sunday morning. In between I worked on my scrappy projects. I didn't get anything complete, but made huge progress on my beloved projects. On the brochure project I cut all the scraps to size and embellished where necessary, using my inks, sprays, liquid pearls, stickers, stamping. All I lack is the page protectors, once they arrive all I need to do is put the paper and brochures and fuze them up. I got 14 courthouse pages all but complete. All I lack there is the County title oval. I create those on my Pazzle, and that machine can try my patience, so I will do the titles on a day when I am in the right frame of mind and I can focus just on that project rather than wanting to create. Well Wimbledon just started, I will watch this while I clean up my craft room and get ready for work. Enjoy the day ladies! See ya later.

Happy last week of the month! Can you believe we are almost to July. That means that summer break is half over! grammadee , I'm glad you figured out how to post your photos to the thread. I wish I could figure out how to post just a link to the gallery. But I guess I'll keep posting the actual photo. Sounds like things are busy on the farm. I hope you have fun with the grands as they arrive. Cindy, so glad your kitchen is coming along well. I'm sure you will really enjoy having the dark paneling gone. We had one wall of dark in a basement bedroom and couldn't wait to take it down. It had been given to us when we were building that room for my sister to come live while she finished college. But that was in the 70's. Kelly, I love that new layout of you and your guitar. Thanks, too, for giving us the link to your blog. How many years have we been Pokey Pea friends? I was trying to remember when I started Pokey Peas. I think I started in about 2003. I retired in 2002, and I think it was after that. Maribeth, I'm sorry you had to return to work. It's too bad that life and work have to interfere with the important things like scrapping! Sounds like you have accomplished a lot. Do you order your page protectors somewhere? Good luck with your Pazzle. My Cricut bit the dust last week the day after Cousin Camp. I have a spare, but it is on its last leg too. I guess I just wear them out. Lisa, I hope you had a great time on your trip. Jana, hope you are seeing better each day. I need to run. I am taking DH to his eye surgery. He hates going and realizing that he's losing the battle with his macular. These treatments hopefully will retard the progression.

nylene - I went back and looked at the first page I posted at Two Peas and it has been since May 7, 2009 that you have been encouraging and inspiring me to scrap! I can't remember when we went to Scrapfest but I sure enjoyed that trip! Meeting 12 people from all over that I talked to at Two Peas! I know they had their problems but that and the Pokey Peas were my first scrappy home. I can not remember when Kelly joined us on the Pokey Peas but sure have enjoyed her work. And since we came here I have been able to meet all these lovely scrappers! BTW you might want to consider a Silhouette again since they accommodate the Apple products. ok I am trying to get something done so gotta run

Happy Monday! Thanks ladies for all the praise on my guitar lo and my new blog spot. I feel like I am on a roll and want to do a few more layouts this week. Also, I am starting a new painting dedicated to all the woman like y'all that have and continue to encourage and cheer for me. So I can't wait to see how it will turn out. Yeah, there is housework to do but my golly, there shall be painting and scrapping! LOL! Maribeth- Glad to see you did have some time to scrap. I turned on Wimbledon too and watched some. I do like to see the Williams' sisters. They are from the same city I grew up in. I never saw or met them but it is nice to know such talents girls are from my town. Nylene & Cindy- I was trying to remember how long we have known each other. I had to go back to my gallery from Two Peas and look. My first card was submitted in 2010. Cindy, I remember I was just visiting Two Peas and I didn't even know about the message boards and groups. I was just going there for the shopping. Then, I posted a card or two in the gallery and you left me a comment inviting me to the Pokey Peas. So, I guess that was 2010. So glad you did and we have been cheering for each other ever since. You both have been there for me in the ups and downs and I am so grateful for you. (Yes, I am feeling a little teary, but happy emotions) So, as I have been reflecting on my craft journey it has been happy emotional to remember the friends I made and the crafts I have created. I am still a little shocked that all the artsy craftsy stuff is coming out of me. I guess it was there all along but came when it was time. Nylene- Oh I hope your dh eye surgery goes well. Hang in there!

It is Totally Tuesday Pokeys
Wimbledon is just beginning......not looking forward to another long day at work, yesterday there were just two of us with nothing to do, today there will be four of us with nothing to do, it is going to be miserable....Oh the scrapping I could do if they would just send me home (I would gladly take the day off without pay I say that is a win-win)
Totally go out and do something special with your Tuesday ladies.
See ya later.

A warm day is shaping up out here on the farm. Hoping that gets the sun worshipers in my garden (AKA corn and beans and cucumbers and pumpkins) to shoot up. They have been huddling near the ground grumbling about the cool weather. Still focussed on house cleaning. Happily the upstairs is now completely livable, and the living room has been completely dusted; just needs a quick vacuum. I have the kitchen left to do and the kitchen/dining room floors to wash. Have been putting off the worst until last, I think. We both tend to use any horizontal space for whatever happens to be in our hands, so the table itself is a challenge. Need to add a leaf and change to my Canada Day table cloth, so will need to find a place for all the STUFF that has been residing there. Might leave the floor washing until tomorrow morning before I leave to go get groceries and snacks and all the fun stuff for the kids. I hope your dh's surgery went well, nylene . Will your kitchen be ready for the long weekend, scrapincin ? kellyr21 , it is great you are inspired to paint. Have you ever used a print of one of your paintings as a card front? An artist in this area sells a lot of cards with her landscape paintings on them. Hope you survive another exciting day at work, maribeth . But be careful what you wish for... All day every day at home with no income is no picnic either! I managed to complete a few cards in between cleaning jobs. anniversary card by Gramma Dee, on Flickr birthday boy by Gramma Dee, on Flickr tee up by Gramma Dee, on Flickr Have a terrific Tuesday, everyone!

Hi, Pokeys. DH did well with his eyes yesterday and hasn't lost any more sight since last treatment. Hoping it holds steady. scrapincin and kellyr21, I went back through the 2Peas layouts and the first one I have marked "Pokey Peas" was in 2005. I think I joined Pokey Peas in 2002 but did not host it. I filled in for a summer and the hostess never returned so I kept doing it. I remember someone suggested marking them "Pokey Peas" so they could be found easily with the search tool. That must have been in 2005. Cindy, we went to Scrapfest in 2010. I loved meeting all the girls I had been "talking" to since 2005. That was the year I took the plunge and joined those crazy ladies. So glad you had joined up by then! grammadee, is there a chance we are related? Your cleaning efforts sound like mine. I used to be able to clean my house top to bottom in one day. Not a chance anymore. I wear out. We also have the problem of any flat surface is a spot for something to be put down. The decluttering takes a day. I have a big dining room table in my kitchen with 6 leaves. We used them all for a family dinner in 2008 when DD and family moved back and the leaves have never been removed. It often has DH's work stuff on one end, my stuff in the middle and we eat our meals on the end closest to the appliances. I hope you get everything done that you want before the kids arrive. I know you will have a great time. BTW, love your cards and will leave love in the gallery. maribeth, glad to see your happy face pop up! How long until you can retire? Kelly, you know that painting takes precedence over cleaning. Can't wait to see what you do. I need to run vote before the lines get long. See you later.

scrapincin, Cindy, I love the color of yellow you used and love your decorative panels. It really makes your kitchen look lighter and cheery. What is the name of your paint color? Heading to the gallery to get a better look! maribeth, I'm sorry you still have so long before retirement. But that means you are still YOUNG! Just take it one day at a time. Hope things slow down at work so you enjoy it more.

Hope things slow down at work so you enjoy it more. nylene - slow is the problem, it is so slow at work we are all just sitting there looking at each other. I would just like "steady", I don't want to be overworked, but I don't want to have absolutely nothing to do.....that makes me think of so much I could be doing at home. But it could be worse......I am glad I have a job. scrapincin - LOVE IT - but then again I am partial to yellow....as you all know yellow is my craft room color. Walked my hour, took a wonderfully relaxing bath, having a faux Arnold Palmer. So looking forward to three days with my honey, I can't wait. Have a wonderful evening ladies, see you in the morning.

Glad your dh's dr appointment went well, nylene . Hope the rest of the week is better for you at work, maribeth . Your kitchen looks lovely, scrapincin ! Love that molding pattern white on yellow. Always good to brighten up a room! I got most of what I wanted to do finished today. Tomorrow I need to wash the floor in the morning and then head out to do some shopping and do some errands. Dh does most of the grocery shopping, but when I am going to have a house full of family, I want to pick out my own items, my own brands, and not just what the Co-op has on sale. Thinking of picking up a Slip n Slide for the kids as well. It is supposed to be hot all week. Have a great Tuesday evening!

We leave my sisters for my fil's where there is no internet. So I'll check bak in on Sunday or early next week. I've enjoyed being with my 3 yr old great niece and the baby boys so much.
