maribeth, your post about Wonderful Wednesday reminded me. I have a dear friend who lost her husband of over 50 years in Jan. She had people always asking, "So how are you really?" She gave each day a letter of the alphabet. The first day when asked she would answer with a word starting with A. The next day was B, etc. It really helped to have to work on words to use each day. I thought that was a clever way to respond and to keep her mind busy. And on W day she answers, "Wonderful".

Happy Wednesday! It is a nice day here and I am having a very productive day. Oh, last night I went to M's for a cupcake decorating class!!! I have been wanting to try a cake deco class for a while and this was close enough. This must be popular because lots of folks and even girls came. I haven't made cupcakes like in FOREVER so that was fun as I prepared for the class. The decorating with a piping tip was a new experience too. I sort of got the hang of it last night. With the leftover icing, today I was able to practice more on my extra cupcakes. I did take pictures and will share them. I am not a big buttercream fan but I must admit, that stuff was so yummy on my cupcakes! LOL! Ron and I enjoyed eating them last night and we have plenty left for the rest of this week. Lisa- SO glad you are having a great time. Can't wait to hear some of the highlights when you return. Grammadee- Yes, I planning on making note cards with my art. I tried to make my own a while ago but I wasn't happy with the paper. So now I want to try again. Nylene- Your dh is a real trooper! Thankful to hear his eye is holding on. Hang in there! Cindy- WOW! I love the new look of your kitchen. So that is where the magic happens?! The colors and the details on you wall are so elegant. I just love yellow and white too for a kitchen. I wish we all could fly to your house and help cook up something good in your new beautiful space. Maribeth- Hope your job perks up. Thankfully, Wimbledon is on. It would be nice if you had some sort of fun project you could do during the down times.

Good evening all! Thanks to all of you for your great comments on my kitchen. I love it too and since I spend 2/3 of my time is spent in there I am going to enjoy it. Kelly & Maribeth I also watch tennis. I so enjoyed the Federer / Willis match today. It kind of lightened up the matches today. I have it on tonight so I can watch it again. Cleaned up a bit in the scrap room today so maybe I can go in there and do something over the holiday weekend. nylene could you take a photo of the ink holder that Steve made you so I can see what he did. I am looking for ideas. KELLY now its cupcakes...you are trying it all! Ok going to lose for now!

kellyr21 A cupcake decoration class sounds like fun! I have a few books about decorating cupcakes but haven't done to much with it. I will have to look for that class at M's. nylene, I hope your DH eye surgery went well. I had a follow-up appointment yesterday and my doctor is happy with the numbers when they tested my eyes. I get to reduce my eye drops and don't have to go back for another month! He also released me to swim. I was so excited and went to water aerobics this morning. Today is my last day of vacation. I have enjoyed my break and not looking forward to going to work tomorrow. I need to flip my schedule back to nights. I hope everyone is doing good!

Welcome to Terrific Thursday Pokeys It's terrific.....well because each and everyday is terrific, so today can't be anything but! kellyr21 - Those cupcakes sound sooooooo delish! What a fun class. scrapincin - It was a fun match. I am Federer fan all the way, but I was hoping this underdog could have been a bit more competitive, but in reality with the enormity of the situation he did do too bad. Hoping some good matches will be on to entertain me on my very loooooong day at work today. Speaking of my long workday.....I mad the offer to the boss that I would be more than willing to take some time off without pay on these days where we just do not have much to do. His reaction - he was not happy about that all. He was inquiring if we were overstaffed - which I said yest (and remember I told him that when we finally found me an adequate assistant), and said he was thinking of laying off....NO!!!!!, the entire point of my offer is to keep the ladies that are on hourly and need their pay, and dock me some pay for time off so that I can have a bit more free TIME!!!! - Goes back to the issue that has always been there, he depends on me to be there IN THE EVENT something happens so that I CAN TAKE CARE OF IT. Like I am the only person who can handle things? ?? I think not, don't forget I am the one who fell for that scam, so not perfect here that is for sure. @kellr21 - I have been racking my brain to figure out a small unobtrusive project I can take to work but everything I think of seems to have so many bits and bobs. nylene - I am so glad your friend could find the strength after her loss to fill her days with brightness and positive thoughts and feelings. My cake today was spaghetti. How appropriate. Since I have been on this healthy eating plan one of the things we don't get any more is pasta. For my birthday I asked hubby to make homemade mac and cheese, instead of any sweets. What will you do today to make this a Terrific Thursday? See ya later......

Happy Birthday, maribeth ! And happy last day of June, everyone! Scary that we are halfway through 2016! Cupcake decorating sounds like fun kellyr21 . And then eating the results is a nice perk! Glad you are getting to go into the pool again knutschen . Hoping your first days back at work are not too stressful. What do you do? I have some last minute tweaks around here this morning before heading off to meet my dil and collect two of their girls. Dil and the oldest will be staying in a hotel near the place where dgd will be dancing Friday and Saturday. Did and family are arriving here sometime today. Tomorrow we will be taking part in local Canada day activities. Then Saturday we are all going to the cultural festival to watch dgd dance. Then back here with everyone for 3 days. Let the summer begin!

grammadee, I am an RN on a medical/surgical floor in a hospital. I am going to sleep today so I can stay awake all night! There aren't enough hours in the day sometimes! I still have things I was wanting to do while on vacation and didn't get them done.

Happy Thursday! Hope you all are enjoying your day. I have two cards to make today and hope to get them done. So that will be my creative focus today. I had one design I thought I would go with but now not sure I like it. So back to the drawing board. Maribeth- HAPPY HAPPY BIRTHDAY! I hope your day will be one of the best. Enjoy that mac n cheese too. Jana- SO happy your eyes are better. I know that must be a big relief. Wish you still had time off so you could enjoy yourself more. Pool exercise sounds fun. Cindy- I love trying new things and with these free classes, this is a good time to go for it. I think I have been missing out. I should of been making crafts that I can eat years ago. Such a yummy reward! LOL! Grammadee- What a great time you will have with your family! I know you will be creating lots of neat memories.

I am so discouraged with my lack of techno abilities. I have struggled all day to get my Cricut to load and it takes about 8 tries before it will load. So I did some cutting and went to print my journaling. I followed all the directions to put in a new yellow cartridge and the printer refused to print. I have worked on it for 3 hours and am determined to never buy another Epson. So, I have 3 pages that just need a little die cutting and printing.....so irritating. Other than that, maribeth , it has been a Terrific Thursday! HAPPY HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO maribeth ! I love the spaghetti pot cake that @mytnice posted. Sounds like you love pasta too.knutschen , I am hoping you get everything accomplished that you want on this last day of vacation. Sounds like the surgery was a success. Take care of yourself. It's always nice to see you checking in. kellyr21 , I know you will enjoy the cupcake class. Someday I would love to take that class. Our Michaels does not have that class. grammadee , I am getting excited for you to have your grands around. I hope you take photos of your DGD dancing. Sounds like you have fun things planned. scrapincin , I am seriously considering a Silhouette. It works with SCAL doesn't it? My only problem is that all my files are SVGs and the grands will be so disappointed if they can't use the Paper Doll cartridge. I wish there were a way to buy a brand new Cricut Expression that would work with SCAL. But that's not possible. Decisions, decisions. I am hoping I can limp along for a while with my Cricut and that my DSIL can figure out what's wrong with my printer. I can't believe how helpful he and Em are to us. He just ordered a new computer for Steve and will install and set it up when it arrives. Seems like things break down in 3's. Steve's computer, Cricut, Printer. Enough griping! I will post a new July thread later tonight.
