My legs were very unhappy about running this morning so I mostly walked three miles instead. Now I need to stretch really well, foam roll my hip & go to the dentist. Fun morning! Where is the dislike button. I hate going to the dentist.

Can I join y'all? I finished week 2 of my couch to 5K app this morning in the 90 degree heat and I'm very proud of myself for doing it! It's very generous to call what I'm doing "running" - it's more like a walk/jog in the fast intervals - but I'm getting out there and doing it. And it feels good. I plan to run the Susan G. Komen 5K in October.

Giant whine, vent, ahead. You might want to skip it. I'm currently mad at the weather channel. I checked the hourly and 15 min forecast and it said no rain until after 10am. Sure... dog and I got rained on 45 mins out. And now he needs a bath. Blah! Then my nike app started pausing during my run, I know it was cause it was hitting my water bottle, but still, it never did that before. Anyway app said we did 3.5 miles. I think we did closer to 5.5. But WHY the one time I was making really good time did everything have to go wrong? Oh well, there is always tomorrow. At least I burned some calories. Right?!

I was scheduled for a moderate walk but still feeling some pain so opted for 3 1/3 miles. Hopefully the legs will recover soon. Seems like we are off to a rough start this week. So here is hoping for cooler weather, drier weather, and great walks/runs.

I was so achy today; I have no idea why. I took yesterday off as a rest day. But I started running this afternoon, and I was drenched in sweat and panting and my legs hurt after less than 15 minutes. So I got off the treadmill and did the elliptical instead. Wasn't all that much better.
I had a bout of Lyme disease a few weeks ago and just finished the antibiotic (yucky!). I hope it's not coming back. I figured 3 weeks of doxycyline would kill off anything.
But seriously, I've been walking and running for more than six months now. This week's runs have been horrible for me -- I feel awkward and slow and can't get into a rhythm. Blech. And I've been so sore all week. Usually when I have a bad running day, the next one feels great. But now it's three in a row of yucky. End of whine.

I got in 3 miles last night. I was very tired from the night before but it felt great. I am going to try to go further. I think I will hit the treadmill this morning hopefully and then do yoga tonight.
To the Peas who run one mile to ten miles or more you are all awesomesauce. I couldn't run nearly that far unless being chased and then I would give in to the bear chasing me!

I met my goals last week to walk 5 days. This week I have increased my walking time by 5 minutes. That is about an extra quarter mile or so. I am now up to 2 miles. I am feeling stronger, but the heat and humidity are really kicking my tail.

BIG THANKS to the person who mentioned the SPIBelt. I ordered one and got it yesterday - used it this morning and it worked wonderfully! No more arm injuries from my armband for me!

I did my track workout last night, and it almost made me puke. Awesome, huh? 1.5 mile warm-up with 4-6 x 400 at 5k pace then a mile cool down. I got the warm up and three 400s but just could not get another one completed. I think I was super dehydrated and my body was just not going to cooperate. Oh well… sorta discouraging but I hit my pace perfectly on three so I figured I better quite will I was ahead. Pilates and rest for me today (yipppeeee) and trying to work out the rest of my runs for this week. I have a 5 mile run on my plan and then the long run (10 mi) at some point over the weekend.

I'm supposed to join my first running group tonight. They do 3 mile runs and it looks like a fun group of people. However it was supposed to rain this evening so I did my regular morning and lunch workouts, now I debating if I'm too lazy to join them tonight since the forecast has changed for the better? I know next week I'll have another excuse. lol

I got a few miles in this morning. I got a later start than I had planned, so I didn't push it in the heat.
For those of you who make your own playlists to listen to while you run, I have a great song recommendation for you. "Obvious Child" by Paul Simon. I loved this song years ago when it first came out, but then forgot all about it until Zach Braff used it in the soundtrack for his new movie. It's a terrific running song---very upbeat and really keeps you moving.

I got my 4.15 in late this morning. It wasn't too hot, but so incredibly humid that I was dripping one mile in. I'm doing better now that I am bringing water, even on my short 3-4 mile runs. I used to only carry when I was running 5+, but I just can't in the summer heat. I did my track workout last night, and it almost made me puke. I set the alarm for 6:45 to run at 7, but decided to stay in bed until 7:30 instead, so I didn't head out the door for my run until 10:30 (get kids up, ready for camp and out the door, walk the dog 2 miles w/my neighbor). Omg I completed an exercise workout on Monday and ms still having trouble walking. I cannot bend down or even sit properly...ouch! I passed on running yesterday and resting today. I may end up working on my arms and abs but do I really want to be sore all over, lol??!!!

I also think I decided today screw what other people think I look like, I'm wearing fitted capris despite the size of my thighs. I'm exercising, that's what matters! :-)

Hi ladies - jumping in on the running fun. I did C25K before but now the app keeps crashing, so this time I'm using "Running for Weight Loss" and I really like it. It alternates jogging, running, sprinting, and walking, and so far I've lost about a pound a week AND more importantly haven't gotten bored. So far so good!

I'm very glad to see you here. Wear what is comfortable for YOU! You are lapping everyone who drives by in their cars, so there. I'm doing the C25K too. I'm a little further along than you, but struggling AND I've gained weight. Why do you alternate treadmill vs. outside? Which do you find easier? Muscle is more dense and weighs more than fat, so you can lose inches and lose fat, but still gain pounds as you develop your large leg muscles. Hi ladies - jumping in on the running fun. I walked over 2 miles today and it was so miserable outside. The humidity is around 75% but is feels even worse. I need a sweating smiley, lol.
