I guess you missed the fact that I'm not a progressive and I think the propaganda they put out is pretty silly, overblown, and overdramatic. You don't seriously think they are ever going to print anything but bad things about everything not progressive, do you? Gotcha, Rebublican propoganda fact - Democrat propoganda not fact.

You don't seriously think they are ever going to print anything but bad things about everything not progressive, do you? Gotcha, Rebublican propoganda fact - Democrat propoganda not fact. I was going to make a joking response like "of course" but I just thought this was worth a bit of discussion. There are sites like Talking Points Memo for all persuasions all over the Internet. But what you have to really look out for are the sweeping statements they don't back up or that are easily explainable for perfectly valid reasons. The first point alone says his "debt load has grown dramatically" and links to a Bloomberg article. Well, yes, your debt load is going to increase when you buy new properties like the Old Post Office and renovate them until you sell them or they start turning a profit. (yawn). The Bloomberg article is just trying to give a guess as to his true net worth. (again yawn). But then the TPM makes a sweeping dramatic statement for which there is absolutely no proof, not even a dramatically stretched truth: That Trump has been blackballed by U.S. Banks. (say what?) I was going to go through the article and make my points like that, but in Googling, I discovered it had already been done for me: medium.com/@jeffreycarr/fact-checking-that-trump-putin-thing-8ed9fd850d40#.7chtxxas7I used to occasionally read blogs that were all dramatic and overblown like TPM (only on the right) and realized that they were a big waste of time. YMMV.

Is anyone concerned about Trumps emerging relationship with Putin and the speculation that Russia was responsible for the leaked emails? I'm not one for conspiracy theories. But there might be something to Putin wanting Trump as president. And not because Trump is his good buddy. Right after Trump gave that interview of how he sees NATO and Trump's chant of "America First" The Alantic laid out a case that with a Trump Presidency it would make it easier for Putin to continue his land grab of ex Soviet Union countries. So if that is the case it's entirely possible Russia is meddling in a US election.

Is anyone concerned about Trumps emerging relationship with Putin and the speculation that Russia was responsible for the leaked emails? No No, as far as I am concerned it is the Clinton campaign surrogates who are out front trying to deflect on the shameful emails that the DNC circulated. I don't hear any media pressure for Hillary to "disavow" them which is a double standard because if it were a Republican they wouldn't get away with such an allegation. I am local to Philly and the Bernie Sanders supporters were out in large numbers yesterday in 100 degree temperatures with high humidity. They are not giving up and they are angry. It was reported that Debbie Wasserman Schultz had a breakfast event this morning with the Florida delegation and she was boo'd and there were chants of "shame". I think this Putin thing is an effort at damage control.

I would be remiss if I didn't post the link to the article I referenced in my post above. So here is "It's Official: Hillary Clinton is Running Against Vladimir Putin". First sentence: " Fulfilling what might be the Russian autocrat's dearest wish, Trump has openly questioned whether the US should keep commitments to NATO". We know most hacks on US systems can be traced back to China and Russia. Meddling in a Foreign Country's election is something intelligent organizations will do. I do believe there are examples of the CIA meddling in the past. As an ex KGB agent meddling in foreign elections would be second nature to Putin if he thought it would advance his agenda. Don't discount Russia's possible roll in the email leaks in your rush to condemn Hillary without all the facts. Like I said in my thread about the monkeys destroying voter lists in Thailand. If it had happened in this country there would be a mad rush to blame it on Hillary somehow.

Did we forget about the hot mic moment Obama had with then Russian President Medvedev(Clinton was his Secretary of State) - "This is my last election. After my election I have more flexibility," in reference to defense missile negotiations. Here's the videoOr did we forget about the reset button (sorry, tried to link the infamous picture without luck) Or perhaps the fact that Russia now has rights to 20% of America's uranium rights thanks to the Clinton Foundation and the Clinton State Department Link to NYT article "Cash Flowed to Clinton Foundation Amid Russian Uranium Deal"

Which has nothing to do with Putin's plans to rebuild the Soviet Union.
I really felt bad for that country that after reading Trump's interview on NATO tweeted in panic they had paid their 2%.
Can you imagine how a country feels that knows the only thing standing between them and being gobbled up by some thug is NATO of which the US is a large part and reading Trump's thinking on NATO?
Sorry folks that kind of thinking isn't how you "Make America Great Again". That kind of thinking just makes America as big a thug as Putin/Russia.

From what I know, hillary didn't send any of the emails but she does need to address it in some way. Not sure if that has been done since I have been working. They are saying that some internet hacking experts have said Russia is involved as well, but haven't given specific reasons for that speculation.

But of course nobody has hacked into their emails and they are probably gone by now anyway. As sad as it sounds, it seems par for the course for politics. I'm more concerned about Russia meddling in our politics and getting involved with trump, of that is the case.

And don't forget the gift Obama handed Putin when he cancelled the missile defense shield in 2009 that Bush had promised the Czech Republic and Poland. That would have been, if nothing else, a show of unity and strength back then. But ooops! Obama realizes maybe that wasn't such a bad idea and is now implementing it.
What's so funny is that they forget the same people tried to hack the RNC and Trump systems. The only difference is the hack was successful against the DNC. They are so embarrassed they are now putting forth the narrative that it is practically a collusion. So ridiculous.

Here is an OP ED from Paul Waldman on why the story that it's possible that Putin may be interfering with the US election should be getting more attention Comments like above remind me of an old comic strip called "Farley" by Phil Frank. It was SF based and some of the characters were transplant bears from Yosemite who lived in Fog City Dumpster in SF. Part of the year they did live in Yosemite. The strip I had pinned up for years had in the first box the Bears standing by the side of the road in Yosemite when a car of tourists rushed by. One of the Bears was holding a sign that said "The End is Near". The next box showed the car going over the cliff. In one's rush to ridicule those one disagrees with one shouldn't discount the sign otherwise one could figuratively go over the cliff. The fact is there is not one server that is completely hack proof. If someone wants to get in bad enough they will.

Ah, yes, your little pal Paul Waldman of the "it's not a big deal that Bill Clinton met with Loretta Lynch" fame. The guy who lives in his happy little "it's the Republican's fault" world. I must say I agree with someone who called Waldman "buffoonish."
He kinda left out mention of how the Democrats were warned by the FBI of this very thing, didn't he? And how they dragged their feet on taking action? You know, that little thing called personal responsibility? Certainly Hillary Clinton is allergic to it, she would much rather blame that "vast right wing conspiracy" for her own actions. Waldman seems to be of the same ilk.
No system is hack proof, but you sure can do a lot to mitigate your chances of being hacked. You can also do a lot to make sure your hacker isn't living in your system for a year!
As to whether or not it is a serious matter, that's a different topic altogether. I would say it is serious. But I just keep coming back to the they lived in the system for a year undetected thing. OMG.

It bothers the hell out of me! I've been a Democrat since 1978 when I turned 18. If Bernie doesn't win the Democrat election I'm out of this party! How the other Democrat Peas cannot see when the evidence is staring them in the face with these leaked emails (that Hillary Clinton and the DNC did in fact commit voter fraud in several states to derail Bernie Sanders and make Hillary Clinton the winner) is proof they have blinders on when it comes to Hillary Clinton. What will it take? She gets away with leaking emails on her private server that no one else would ever get away with-emails that very well could have an effect on our national security and you want this woman to be President of the United States? Someone with even more power? And what was that weak excuse why they couldn't convict her? Oh yeah-they couldn't prove intent. Intent my fanny. Yes, judge. My client did murder Mr. Jones in cold blood and their are several key pieces of evidence but there is no way of proving intent so we his attorneys do believe this court must find him innocent. That would have been laughed out of court. She should be in jail, had her security clearances stripped from her or at the very least not be permitted to run for President. I do believe in everyone's right to vote. But please for the love of God, vote from your heart and vote for your values. Do NOT vote out of fear. I believe Donald Trump might very well have been planted for just this reason. I am not a conspiracy theorist. Normally anything like that I am very skeptical of and I don't believe it. I don't believe in UFO's, the grassy knowl (sp) in JFK's assassination, and so on. But, this has been said before about Trump and to me it makes sense. It adds so much weight to Clinton's campaign (anyone but Trump). I am sick of the lesser of two evils. The lesser of two evils is still evil. You are not left with only these two to vote for. There is Jill Stein for those that usually lean Democratic and there is Gary Johnson for those that usually lean Republican. Maybe this is the year we break up the two party system. It hasn't worked for a long, long time. Can you link us to all this factual proof? I'm sorry I can't. DH insists on running Linex on this computer at home and I can only do the bare minimum of things on it. Links are too hard for me to do. I'm embarrassed to say that, but LInex is a difficult system. The facts are out there if you research it, but you won't find them on main stream media. I'm sorry it took me so long to get back to you all. I haven't been around the last couple of days.

He likes to use Linex on all of the home computers we have. He fixes them when there is any kind of problem with them. I see his point-so on this I compromise. Marriage is full of compromises. We just celebrated 21 years last week. But for me-the computer challenge one it's a bitch to work with. So you'll have to be patient and wait a bit to see what I can come up with. If you're really curious do a little research on your own. It was all over my facebook the last couple of days. Even my parents, my father being a Republican, knew all about it.

You're the one making the claims, I'm not going to try to dig to find obscure, possibly shady sources that are all just about conspiracy theories. That's fine-suit yourself. It's not a conspiracy theory it's the truth. By now almost everyone has heard about it. But believe what you want to believe. It's no skin off my nose.
