Glad the reno is proceding, LisaDV , even if it is not going at quite the pace you may like. You have way more patience than I have, living in a house under construction. I would want time travel or suspended animation (Wake me when it's done! ) Can't believe all the electrical issues! nylene I hope you get on line and back on that Silhouette soon. And scrapincin , I hope your AC is fixed before any more heat hits. Hope you get a chance to post more cards. In the time before I get down to see the little guys, I am frantically trying to catch up on my spring and summer scrapbooks, so everyone is included, and I have used photos I took as well as ones sent to me by my dil's. Here is a 2 pager I completed yesterday. Go Ryley Go by Gramma Dee, on Flickr It is very windy here this morning, and the internet is a bit intermittent, so I am having a bit of a problem connecting with Flickr. I uploaded 3 additional pages, but can't seem to link them now. Will try later.

The air conditioner is fixed and I posted two more cards I made last evening. Yes an earwig is what caused the AC to go out. He got into the part that turns the compressor on & off just as it was turning things on so ended up as a dead earwig and blew the contact whatever out. Mot much else going in here so I will link my cards and be gone till later. Smooch by Cindy Blair, on Flickr Sorry I'm Late by Cindy Blair, on Flickr

Happy Monday! Boy, the Summer is going by and it is almost September. I think I am ready for Fall. LOL! Last Thursday, I did go to that Michael's class. It was a stamp and heat embossing card class. I enjoyed making the cards and trying a different style from my usual. The birthday cake one had metallic gold on parts of it. Loved this paper.

LisaDV- Oh I hope all these electronic issues clear up. What a bummer! Yes, I have still been practicing here and there. I hope to take the class again this Fall.
scrapincin- Ron got a kick out of your last football comments. LOL! I hope RG3 has a good comeback. Ron's team not sure about this season and our LA Rams should be fun to watch for the first time in ages.
nylene- Hang in there! We'll see ya soon I hope. Yes, we did have a nice time with my in-laws. They live here in the county. My fil is a pastor so it was nice to spend a Sunday with they as they are on vacation.
Waving hello to everyone else and hope all the household problems settle down! LOL!

scrapincin and LisaDV, I think the gremlins are into our power systems! How crazy that we three are having problems. Mine are now fixed. Eric got right on the phone to the electrician and he came right over. Steve made a pen for this electrician and his son, who was working with him, while they were working on the Shop. I think we have made a friend! It just took a few minutes and I have a scraproom again. I hope your issues are as easy to fix once you get the repairmen there. Cindy, I sent you a PM through Scrapbook.com. I'm not sure it alerts you that you have a message unless you click on forums (which they have now hidden under MORE). I will go leave love on your layout. I could favorite it from my ipad, but I can only do about 3 clicks into a site before the ipad closes down. It's old. I have lots of projects to love in the gallery now that I have my computer back. You Pokeys are not being very Pokey, but that's okay with me. I love seeing your work. I spend part of the day picking up the 4-H items. We found that Kylie's painting of Aspen trees was judged to go to State Fair too, but someone didn't put the purple ribbon on it. She was really excited! I'll be back later. Have a great evening.

I'm such a nut. I didn't see that we had a page 4 and I thought you still had no air conditioning, scrapincin! We have been busy and chatty this month. I love all the posted projects. kellyr21, those cards are gorgeous. I need details on how you made some of them. Left you questions in the gallery. Cindy, you are the "Turtle" champ. You have the cutest turtles and paper. Love those cards. grammadee, you have really been scrapping. I caught justjac's cards in the gallery. I need to start thinking about that already. LisaDV, I am so sorry about your freezers. We lost everything in our freezer a couple of years ago. The compressor blew and we didn't notice and everything was well-thawed. See you all later.

grammadee , cute layout. When do you leave to see everyone, is it this weekend? scrapincin , your cards are so adorable. kellyr21 , so glad you're going to continue guitar. Your class cards are cute. nylene , such great news that Kylie's aspen trees won too. DD and I had fun yesterday doing shaving cream prints which I don't think I've done since 2004. I definitely have a few picked out for ATCs, the rest will be AJ pages maybe a scrapbook page. Over the course of the last week or so I've finished 3 LO's but they weren't uploaded to flickr so I guess I hadn't shared them here yet. Good Tuesday morning. It is another grey one here. 2/10" of rain overnight. Dh is in a glum mood. He had planned to cut some feed today, but it is too wet now. I need to get out into the garden later to get some veggies to take to my Sil's tomorrow when we will be making borscht. Before that, I need to drive into town to pick up my prescriptions for the month. Not sure if I will accomplish anything crafty today. I cut some pieces with my Cricut this morning, and have them on the counter with the pic's and the papers I might use. I think once I get at it the pages will come together nicely, but so far I have only a rough idea of what to do. Have 10 days before heading down to the Calgary area. Thursday this week I am babysitting dd's little guy while she teaches an evening class (her hubby is out of town at a meeting). Might be taking my niece's girl (aged 12). She told me last week to let her know when I would be babysitting him because she would like to come along. Love your cards, kellyr21 and scrapincin ! And your pages, LisaDV . Glad you had time for some artsy play with your dd this week. Glad you got your electrical problems solved, nylene . It's good to have people who will come when you need their help. Have a great Tuesday, Ladies! Hope it is sunnier than mine!

grammadee , I am sorry that the weather is not cooperating with the things you need to do. I can understand your DH's glum mood when he was counting on getting something important done. Hope things clear up and you get dry weather for a while. I am anxious to see what you cut with your Cricut. Post your pages when you finish. LisaDV , such cute layouts. It's nice to see you having time to scrap. Hope things are going well for you. I'm sorry you have to wait so long to get your machine fixed. Hang in there. scrapincin , you will laugh. I gave Angie my old Wishblade years ago (wouldn't work with the Microsoft updates) and she thought she could maybe use it with an older machine. She downloaded the Sil software and even bought the Designer Edition and has been using it all along. Tonight she called to say Sammie was having trouble getting it to cut. When she explained the problem I knew what was wrong!! Can you believe that! It's 8.5x11 and her mat was set at 12x12. I had just found that little button and could help her. I knew you would be proud of me. Thank you, thank you for all the help you have given me to get me this far!! kellyr21 , I left you love at Scrapbook.com. I started posting there because there wasn't a gallery here. I'm glad to see your posts. Do you know the names of the stamps you used at Michael's? I love that flower, the dandelion, and the sentiments. Keep up the good work. maribeth , I hope you are busy getting scrappy and not just working, working, working. Sending hugs to all of our Pokeys! Here is a layout I finished a couple of days ago. I have 2 more finished but will scan and post later. I had to take 2 photos in order to get the steeple in and it looks weird where I joined them. Well it has been a long day. Managed to finish the pages on my counter this morning, and then off to my sil's to shell, peel, and cut up veggies all day. The two of us made a canner of borscht and 24 pints on beet pickles. Then she had invited a couple of friends over for supper and we ended up playing cards all evening. Interesting to hear about the Wishblade, nylene . I have one I don't have the heart to get rid of, but it doesn't talk to my computer any more. Saw a thread on this forum awhile ago about ways to get it to use the Silhouette software, but didn't have time to try it out then and haven't gone looking for the info since. Here are my pages with the Cricut diecuts on them. I used the CTMH "Artiste" cartridge to cut the carousel and the ferris wheel. The black parts are actually metallic silver. just here for the rides by Gramma Dee, on Flickr just here for the rides 2 by Gramma Dee, on Flickr

Good Thursday morning! Hope all is well with one and all!! I was in the scraproom last night and made 2 new cards which I will post shortly. Need to do some grocery shopping today. That is not my favorite thing to do but it must be done. grammadee -oh your beets sound delish. My DMIL made really good ones. I have never attempted them. I do not can anymore I freee most things. Our garden box does not produce all that much so usually do not have to worry about it. nylene - That is great about the Wishblade and yes you have adapted to the Silhouette very well. I figured you would not have too much trouble. I do not know if I would have known what was wrong with it but you did. LisaDV - Loved your pages and left love for you in the gallery. Sounds like you two had fun with that shaving cream art! I have never tried that but have seen it before. Waving a big Hello to Kelly,Maribeth, and JustJac! If you do 11x8 pages and have all those 3.5 strips left over from trimming 12x12 paper and lots of little "don't go anywhere photos like me, here is something I tried yesterday that I found on pintrest. I used some leftovers papers from some favorite kits and lots of little leftover embellishments. I like the results. (This is the pintrest layout, not mine) I trimmed the strips to 2.75 and glued them to a matching solid 11x8 and used my largest square punch on the pics. Then rifled through my big drawer of leftover embellishments ....Quick, easy and free!

Sweet cards, scrapincin ! @elaynef , thanks for passing on that idea! I am thinking it would work for using up scraps even on a 12x12 page. I like the look of it enough to cut up 2 or 3 sheets of pp to do this and flip some strips to use both sides... Kind of stodgy this morning. I need to get moving soon to get ready for another long day. Leaving about noon to pick up my niece's dd (aged 12) who wanted to help babysit this evening, then drive another hour & a half to pick up Mikey from daycare. His cousin has promised to run and play with him while I fix supper. When his mom gets home from the class she is teaching, I need to drive back home, dropping off my passenger along the way. Probably bedtime close to midnight for me. The only crafty thing I will be doing is printing a bunch of photos my dil's sent me this week. See you on the flip side!

Hi everyone, Lots of lovely pages. I've left you all love if there were links. @elaynef, Very lovely 2 pager. nylene, you obviously had an excellent teacher (Cindy) for your silhouette training! scrapincin, hope your shopping was easy. I've been to the stores (including grocery shopping) yesterday morning (while our oldest dog was at the vet) and this morning (after doing laundry). I hate going as well. I tend to hit at least 3-4 stores to get the best deals and only a couple of stores have some of my specialty items for dd's diet. If I do it all on the same day (which is more of the norm), I'm usually too exhausted to cook dinner. I try to plan easy meals for that night. ugh. grammadee, have fun with Mikey and your great-niece. Sounds like you will have a great helper. DS turns 14 tomorrow. waaa! I've already made his chocolate cheesecake and an allergy free one for dd (it tastes just as good as the non-allergy free one, but ds refused to accept that one as his birthday cake). He's asked for free screen time all day tomorrow. So that will give me a chance to finish the packing and food prep for our trip. We leave on Saturday morning for a week of travel. I already need a vacation from this vacation. Always the way it goes. lol. Wishing all of the pokey's a terrific end of the month. I'll be back in September.

@elaynef , thank you for that idea. I have so many of those strips. I usually use them for die cuts, but I really love the look of that layout design. I appreciate the suggestion! Nice to see you stopping by. Come by often and join in the fun. We are always open for great ideas! scrapincin , the only reason I knew Sammie's problem was that I had hunted for a way to change my mat size so I could see how my temple title would look across the 8.5x11 page. I had just found it when she called. Angie had Sam check the mat size and that fixed it! I couldn't have made it this far without your help. You are the best. How's the organizing for your trip going? Just know that I am jealous! I love your cards. My sister would love the PacMan card. She was an addict years ago. It's a family joke. Will leave love soon. grammadee , your beets sound wonderful. I used to make beet pickles, but I really had a hard time with them sealing. I would have 5 or six jars in my fridge to use up first because they didn't seal. But they tasted great. I haven't had borscht for many years. My mouth is watering! Sounds like you have had a long busy day. I hope you have fun with your little ones. It keeps us young, right? I love your layouts and will leave love later. LisaDV, Happy B-day to your son. A whole day of screen time...that's a fun request for a birthday! I may not be on again before you leave, so have a safe travel and an enjoyable time. Then come home for a rest from the vacation! LOL! See you in Sept! kellyr21 and maribeth and justjac and all the other Pokeys, I hope you have a wonderful weekend and I'll catch you all early next week!

Hello again. Hope you are having a Fantastic Friday. I am moving a little slowly this morning; slept in, and have been mainlining coffee. Had a good day yesterday, even if it was a long one. My grand niece reminds me a lot of her mom who as a kid spent a lot of time with my kids who were all quite a bit younger. These are kids who when they are babysitting it is more like a Play Date, and everyone has a great time. After an afternoon and evening of chasing a 3 year old, she thanked me over and over again for taking her. "It was so much FUN!!!" And from a child care perspective, she is a bit of a worrier too, so you know she will keep the kid safe. Back home today. Working on finishing off my FAIR pages. The little guy had so much fun and we took so many photos that I needed more than just the ride pages to represent the day. Had enough photos & themes for 3 pages, but since I always work in pairs, I wasn't sure what to do. Decided to do 2 facing pages, and then doing an 8 1/2 x 12" insert between them. I will use my Fuse to seal a page protector along the side so the 8 1/2 width fits in it. Have the photos glued down and am playing around with embellishments and stickers. Will post when I have these finished. Maybe today. But maybe I will just have a nap instead... ETA: I was able to finish the pages AND have a nap! The Pokeys must be really busy! LisaDV , have you left on your trip yet? Hope all the electrical and appliance issues are resolved soon. It's a quiet Saturday here. Threatening rain, but we have some sunny patches. Dh has gone to the neighbours' for coffee. It is supposed to be cool all day, so I think I will bake some zucchini muffins and then freeze them. I may make stew for supper with biscuits on top. Funny how cooler weather always brings out the desire for comfort foods... But first I am playing around in my scraproom. Finished a 2 pager I started last night, and hope to get another one done when the background I played with is dry. Will try to post if I get enough light to snap some photos. Have a great weekend, Pokeys!

Yesterday I took lunch to my friend (who just had knee replacement) and we sat and visited until I told her I had been to the AC Warehouse sale and my goodies were still in the car. She wanted to see them, so after oo-ing and ah-ing she decided she wanted to GO TO THE WAREHOUSE! I was a little nervous about whether she could do it, but we did,(with her walker!) and shopped and shopped and shopped. I was worn out so I know she had to be. It was such a fun afternoon. I love days like that. I'm going to tag her here, but I haven't talked her into doing more than just signing up. clutzmom maribeth, your pamphlet pages have inspired me and I have been thinking about a Fuse. Yesterday the whole box of Fuse, rulers, mat, page protectors, etc. were on sale for $15.00. I caved and bought it. I haven't experimented with it, but I didn't think I could go wrong for $15. There was a box for the tool alone and it was $20. BTW, I am sending you a PM about a video that shows the Sil. actually cutting. Well, I have played in my scraproom all day and need to get back to working on my Sunday lesson for my 9 year olds. I'll be back! I can't believe we are almost at the end of the month again. Have a wonderful weekend!

What a great thing to do with your friend, nylene ! I bet that getting out for the day went a long way to help her recovery! Here are my pages from today. I have a checklist of the pages I want to have done before I leave for Calgary, and hoping to get at least one page a day between now and next Thursday. This first one does not even have its real title in Flickr. Didn't want to get hit with an X rating LOL. Good Sunday afternoon ladies! Hope you are all having a fabulous weekend! I know Nylene had a great Saturday with her neighbor and it sounds like Grammadee was busy and I know Lisa left for her vacation. I spent time in my scrap room but kept getting interrupted so gave it up for a while. Will go back this evening! Not much going on here though but stopped by to see what was up over here! BBL!

grammadee, I love your layouts. Alex would go nuts about the big high tractor! You are so busy that you make me tired! LOL. I hope you get everything done that you want before you leave. Hang in there. scrapincin, you and I will have to "hold down the fort" with LisaDV and grammadee gone. I think we can do that, don't you? Yesterday I experimented with the print and cut and actually cut out a couple of things. I cut out some of my "freebies" that came with the machine and then cut out one of my own files and it worked both times. I am totally amazed! Now I need to clean up the big mess I made. I made 2 waterfall cards for Angie's kids (Drew requested a card that would do that...the waterfall) so I sent one to Sammie too. Did I think to take a picture first, nope. I did another card for Angie for a housewarming gift we are sending. I will take a photo of it before I send it. Nothing fancy like a waterfall though! Sheesh. Well, I need to straighten up my room a bit. I'll find room for my AC purchases tomorrow! Be back later.

Oh boy Nylene I knew you could do it and I knew you would love it! You will use it more often then you think-making your own stickers is fun you can put the image on there then add a offset and fill it with white. I am sure we can try to hold up the thread till they come back-as long as it is not too long! I will try to be somewhat chatty! I had to take today off as I have been making those cards and stuff and I too needed to clean up my mess. We sure have fun making those messes though!

Hey Pokeys! Sorry I've been AWOL. I headed back to work on Wednesday and I haven't been creating. I also lurk a lot because I read everybody's comments on my phone and then decide I should reply on my computer where I can tag people and never get around to it. I'm also going to be busy with a play. I auditioned last week and got a part! We're doing our first read through on Thursday. You have all been doing some beautiful work. I'm trying to comment on Flickr, but I'm behind. Have a great Monday!

Don't worry, nylene and scrapincin , I won't be gone until Saturday, and then only for a long weekend. I won't be gone for a whole month until the end of September. Congrats on the play part, justjac ! Hope work is going well. Yesterday I had a crafting flurry of activity, but I was so focussed on getting my summer album DONE that I basically grabbed, glued, finished a page and stuck it directly into the page protector. I think the grandkids will like seeing themselves on my pages, but nothing really stood out as a postable SB page. It was pretty dark and dreary outside, so no good light to photograph my pages anyway. So no posts of the pages I did yesterday. Today the sun is shining and I need to get out into the garden to do some work there. But first, I had fun playing with my stash of western themed papers with the photos my dil sent me. I love this photo of ds & her at the Calgary Stampede in July. The facing page has mostly photos, but thought I would post this page. rodeo season by Gramma Dee, on Flickr Don't talk to me messy craft spaces! My scraproom looks like a disaster area now, and before I can do much more in here I will need to do a major clean. There are a couple of LO's I had planned to squeeze into my summer album that I may get done this week, but after that I need to put away all my summer themed pretties... (Hopefully before they start sliding off the piles on my scrap counters...)

grammadee, I love, love, love your page you posted. I was reading your post about the layout that you grabbed, glued and finished and I read it as "I stuck it directly ONTO the page protector". I thought you must have lost your mind...until I reread it and saw that it was INTO. Silly me! BTW, I thought you were going to be gone longer than the weekend. Glad you'll still be around. Where are you going for a month at the end of September? justjac, please don't think you have to apologize for not being here or keeping up. This is a NO PRESSURE challenge and we don't want anyone to feel stressed to keep up. Just join us when you can. Congrats on the part in the play. What will you be playing? How's being back to work teaching? scrapincin, how's the card making going? Are you still tending the grands after school? How's Jeremy's new job? I can't wait to see all the scrapping you will get done at your retreat. It sounds like a great time. Well, I really MUST get this scraproom cleaned. I had to laugh at grammadee's description of things sliding off piles..that's my room in a nutshell!

Hey ladies and happy Monday! I wasn't feeling my best but today is better. Hopefully I can get caught up here and with my crafts this week. Boy, you gals have been scrapping away and it is great to see.
I am glad you liked those little cards I made at M's. It was a fun thing to try a different style from my normal. nylene you asked about the stamps I used. Well, I don't know the brands but he flowers were clear stamps and the sentiments were on wooden blocks in a package. I really liked that set of sentiments and might just have to get that. Hope you can find them at your M's. The cluster of flowers on that one card were embossed on regular pink cs. They did look like they could of been on vellum which is a good idea too.
scrapincin - You made some cute cards too. That pac-man card is too cute. Football is here and I know you are excited. Wishing our teams the best this year. I have watched some of the Rams games and look forward to seeing who we have and hopefully we have a few good players.
grammadee - Wow, you are gonna have some travel adventures. Your European trip sounds heavenly. You are gonna have some many great pics and memories when you get back. What a great time I know you will have.
justjac - What a fun opportunity to be in a play. What part did you get? Have you been in plays before? How cool!
LisaDV - Hope your ds had a great bday. Look forward to hearing about your trip when you return.
nylene - Happy to hear your dgd art made it to the state fair! Is this the same one dgd you were telling me about? What a talented family you have.
maribeth - Waving hi! Are you watching the US Open this week? I may catch some of it. I think I am still on Rio overload. LOL!

grammadee , your trip next month sounds WONDERFUL. We will expect lots of pages! kellyr21 , I am going to look for those stamps at Michaels. Those are such pretty and classy cards. My granddaughter whose art went to State Fair is the same one whose art went last year, but she is not the one that loves your art. I haven't even thought of showing her. Next time Kylie is around, I'm going to show off your blog and art! She lives far enough away that I don't see her as often as I see Ashley. I forgot to post this yesterday. This is our son, Eric, (who built Steve's wonderful shop) and his family. Family 2015 by Nylene Budge, on Flickr and here is the card I made for Angie for her new home. Thanks for the congratulations kellyr21 nylene grammadee. I am the female lead in a play called What is Susan's Secret. The main couple was supposed to be in their 70's so I wasn't even thinking I'd get that part. The director decided to make them younger, so I'm in. It's a comedy about a couple who have a bed and breakfast and advertise really good deals for tradespeople. What the tradespeople don't realize is that they are agreeing to do work on our B'n'B. My first day with students is tomorrow. I'm a little anxious as always. I didn't get as much preparation done this summer as I wanted. Have fun in Calgary, grammadee . I think we are just staying home for the long weekend. Maybe I will do a little scrapping as well as working on my school work. Have a great day, everybody.

Another dull day here. Dh has gone to cut feed, but if the wind dies down or precipitation starts to fall, he will be home. I am cleaning my scraproom. And like most cleaning jobs, the mess seems to multiply while I am cleaning. I tried to stuff a few more scraps into my scrap bin and it exploded all over the counter so now I am sorting scraps into colour sets. I guess I will put each set into a bag and store them off my counter. While I was sorting, I found some photos I had meant to scrap in June. And serendipitously, I also found some stickers that go with them, and some scraps that work. So I stopped working to play--could this be why my jobs all take so L-O-N-G??? Anyway, here are my pages. Three different dgs's in two different places where music was played and they just could not resist! Just add music by Gramma Dee, on Flickr just add music 2 by Gramma Dee, on Flickr

So I stopped working to play--could this be why my jobs all take so L-O-N-G??? grammadee, LOL! That's EXACTLY how I clean! When I find something I want to scrap I have to stop right then. Also, when my table is clear it just calls to me to scrap, scrap, scrap! I hope you have a fun long weekend. Will leave love for your cute layouts later today. justjac, how fun that you have the lead. Best of luck with that and with your new students. What do you teach? DH is having an Open House on Labor Day for all the friends and neighbors who have been asking about the Shop. He made his own invitations and we will walk around the neighborhood Friday to deliver them. He is planning on serving Krispy Kremes and milk or cider. He has made frames for photos of DS, Eric, doing woodworking when he was very young. He started using the band saw when he was 8. We blew up about 5 photos that DH wants to hang on the walls. We still have to enlarge the ones with the grandkids working with him. Should be a fun day. I'm hoping to get some vinyl signs cut and applied to boards by then. I'm waiting for an order of vinyl to come. I will post a new thread tomorrow night or Thurs. morning. Have a great day, everyone. Save
