LOVE this! Yeah!!! Congratulations. Our second child came by way of a very similar story. IVF- got pregnant, lost that pregnancy. 1st cycle after period came back I was SICK. Really sick, and my belly hurt. And all those other stupid pregnancy symptoms - just like you. So I took the leftover pregnancy test because what the heck, it's there. Boom. Pregnant. Went to the ER (it was a holiday) as I had been told this would happen and it would be ectopic and I had to seek immediate care. Panic ensues. Off to the ER. They do an ultrasound and the lady pulls the machine close to her. Obviously a bad sign. Trying not to freak out when the PA comes in the room in tears. Oh dear. He finally gets it out that "there's a baby in your uterus!." He was SO excited to tell me. I'm still in shock that she is here. Thanks for sharing your story! Totally brought a tear to my eyes. We're still wrapping our minds around this being real. It seems like it is too good to be true, so we are just waiting for 'the catch'. Like, literally everything in our lives is falling perfectly into place. My husband just found out he is getting a massive raise over the next 2 years that will be a 15% bump up. Just in time for daycare payments. As for the prayers and well wishes so many of you have offered--thank you! I may be an atheist, but I know most people aren't and I appreciate support in any way it comes.

Congratulations. This is wonderful news. Wishing you a boring, uneventful pg. How are you feeling? I am feeling pretty good now. The last few weeks, I was telling my husband it feels like I am on chemo again--constant low-grade nausea and lots of fatigue. It is slowly getting better and not too bad. I have started having some SI pain (joint where the spine and pelvis meet in the back), which worries me because I was born with hip dysplasia and have hip/pelvic pain on a daily basis already, and I know it will likely be exacerbated by a pregnancy. I did my research though, and the OB I will be starting with next Friday specializes in pelvic floor issues and hip dysplasia in pregnancy, so I know I will be in good hands. And, I can tough it out either way. Mind over matter, and all of that.

If I was not an atheist, I might call this a miracle. As it is, I think I need to buy a lottery ticket. I've told my sisters and closest friends, but not my mom or anyone else. I have invited myself and my mom to my SIL's house next Saturday for a BBQ and plan to just silently hand them the US pictures and let the freaking out commence. I'm not an atheist, I would call myself a hopeful agnostic. Not a believer in traditional religion, but optimistic about a higher spirit. In that tradition, I think there are things in the universe that we don't understand and that magic can happen. And it your case, it did. Congratulations! And my kid, who I was surprise pregnant with and violently sick the whole time, is now 22 and an actuary.
