I've done my civic duty, in this respect. Am glad that I could vote absentee and avoid the drama and crowds in November. Feel free to post here when you've voted too.

My ballot came yesterday and it will go out in today's mail. Like you, I'm very glad to miss going to the polling place. Although I live in a "blue" state my town is very conservative.
There are 11 houses on my court there 6 Trump signs out at one time, 2 were taken down prior to the tape release, reason unknown. If I'm lucky I will be able to avoid all political conversations for 25 more days.

I'll vote in person on Election Day.
We've never had crowds/drama on Election Day (knock on something). We have lots of voting places, though, so each voting place only serves a few blocks worth of residents. It keeps the lines from being crazy.
I enjoy the ceremony of voting on Election Day, though, and I like taking my kids with me and showing them the process and then we all watch the returns together.

My absentee ballot is completed and ready to go. DH will do his this weekend and they will be mailed back on Monday. One problem - a person that I voted for in one race was arrested yesterday for bribery and corruption. There would have been no way for me to know that was going to happen before I completed my ballot, and I was more voting against his opponent than for him, but it bothers me. However, he was never really going to win, and I don't care to get a new ballot, so I will get over it!

I've always voted in person on election day. Mainly because my precinct votes at a fire station. My kids love going!!! The fire station parks the trucks out in the drive and lets kids look at them, climb on them, gives them tours, etc. So we always went so they could see the trucks. Now, at the last election they redrew the lines and we have to vote in a church. All of the sudden, they don't like going anymore. I could request an early ballot via the mail since I don't take them any more. But I still like going. And I have never run into any lines or drama in my precinct.

I'm a poll commissioner so I will vote on Election Day. Can't wait to see how many come out and vote in our precinct.

I live about a block away from the country club/golf course where we vote. I always walk up there every election day and dutifully cast my ballot even though I know it won't make a difference living in a red state. But I know my vote makes a difference in local elections since Louisville tends to vote blue so off I go.

My ballot isn't here yet so I can't vote. We've had vote by mail pretty much since I started voting. I've never voted in person, do you bring notes so you can remember who you wanted to vote for?
ETA: our 167 page (yikes) voter pamphlet came in the mail last week, ballots won't be here until around October 25th.

Our polling place is a huge hassle (high school) with very inconvenient parking. I'm going to try to vote early (not until 10/24 here). Going to the polls on election day is not easy because it always seems that we have a staff meeting on election day, which gives us just that much less time to get out and vote.

I like voting on Election Day, it seems more real to me. The lines at my polling place are always short. I go in the middle if the day, the lines are probably longer in the morning and evening,

I bring notes for the judges and things like the Metropolitan Water Reclamation District whose names I would not remember, but I do research them. I plan on voting early because I have to work that day and take my kids to childcare. I am worried about how much time it will take. Save

I'll vote on Election Day. For the last few years, I've made Burning Feather's Italian Beef and then sat with DH and watched the returns on tv. I'm kinda looking forward to that part of the day.

Dh and I love watching the returns together too! Our schools are closed on Election Day - most are polling places. My older son could stay home alone long enough to allow me to vote, but my 15 y.o. would have to come with me and there is a high likelihood he would be a distraction - talking, moaning, flapping, etc. So, no bringing my kids to vote with me. Or else a pea would post a long venting thread about this rude mom who brought her loud child to vote and it was quite destracting until the polling place staff made them leave.

Early voting in Texas starts October 24 and I think I will do this rather than wait until election day. I don't fully understand what early voting is, but I applied for an absentee ballot this year. The lines promise to be insane and I don't want to miss work to vote. I wish we could always vote by mail!

I love going to the polls. I live in a small town, and I know everyone who works there. I love chatting and checking out how many people have been in already. Both our precincts vote in the elementary school gym. I don't think I've ever had to wait in a line.

I haven't received my absentee ballot yet and just this morning I was asking my husband if it didn't seem like we should have them by now. I have received the voter information guides. Guess I'll have to do a little checking to see where the ballots are.

The lines promise to be insane and I don't want to miss work to vote. I wish we could always vote by mail! Early voting is a form of absentee voting. Here in my county in VA, while what I did is technically called absentee voting, I didn't receive a ballet by mail. We have a limited number of polling places set up around the county starting this week - I went to the government center - applied for my "absentee ballot" (there are a number of acceptable reasons, including primary caregiver of a disabled family member). I was then in a room set up like a typical polling place. I received my regular ballot, went to a "booth", filled out the ballot, and then was directed to the scanner, where I fed my ballot and was given my sticker. So, while my county calls this type of voting "absentee voting," I can see other places calling it early voting because the process - except for application - is identical to voting day voting.

I received an absentee ballot in the mail a couple of weeks ago but I'll probably vote in person on election day. or exactly some of the reasons people have listed above. Know what would make me vote early? If, when you voted, you got a chip that you could insert into your TV that would immediately get rid of all the political ads. I certainly would have mailed my ballot in by now!

Guess I'll have to do a little checking to see where the ballots are. DS applied for his absentee ballot at the same time he registered to vote (in August). He received his around the last week of Sept. DH and I mailed ours in on Oct 5 and received ours this past Tuesday.

Nothing you say or post will make me change my mind! You vote the way you want to and I will vote the way I want to!
