and we called the stuff that one dilutes with water squash - I grew up on orange squash One dilutes cordial with water here (concentrated syrup stuff). Soft drink is carbonated and non-alcoholic. And juice is squeezed out of fruit. Squash is either a vegetable or part of the longer phrase "lemon squash" which is a very specific flavor of soft drink. So many variations! I use 'lemon squash' too for a particular drink. We used to have blackcurrant or lime cordial when I was a kid, though I've never heard that name used in the region I live in now as far as I remember. We have the vegetable butternut squash but I've not seen some of the types mentioned such as spaghetti squash. Zucchini is courgette here. And I just discovered last night that your navy bean is our haricot bean so I can now make something mentioned on one of the US cooking programs we get! As you say so many variations! It's fascinating!!

Radge is definitely Scottish - I've known it to be used as an adjective (that party was pure radge man) or a noun (wee Johnny is a total radge). Not one I really use though.
I'm bang in the middle of the central belt and we use:
Juice - fizzy drink Diluting juice - squash Orange/apple/grapefruit etc juice - fruit juice
I think ginger is definitely more of a Glasgow/west coast thing.
Other Scottish ones I can thing of:
Doocot (no idea the proper spelling) - the box/slot your office mail is separated into Piece - sandwich Tattie - potato Coorie (sp?) - snuggle
There are loads more but my mind has gone blank!
