You know, I'm not super excited by any of my presents this year! Someone posted a link to a charity called Dignify a few weeks ago, which hires women trying to get out of prostitution to sew blankets and throws from old saris. I got a small lap blanket for my MIL and I think she is really going to like it. Got my FIL some coffee from a local roaster, and it smells like heaven, so I hope he'll like that.
I'm thinking about getting my nieces on my side of the family a whole pile of books about women excelling in science and other areas. There are some really good kids/teens books on that topic.
Be sure to search for some of the other Christmas threads we've had--I got some good ideas there.

I love it when I can surprise DD - it isn't often. One of my favorite memories was the look on her face when she opened her iPhone 6 two Christmases ago. I think she is going to be super surprised by concert tickets this year. I've already bought Twenty One Pilots, and I very well may add Panic! at the Disco for DD and her cousin. She has been so hard to shop for this year, and I think this present is going to be a huge hit. It will be her first music concert (she has seen lots of plays and even her favorite YouTube group).

I had a pillow made on Etsy for my college freshman niece with a picture of her dog on it. It is close to actual size and that way she can have the dog with her at college.
I got my newest little niece, whose parents, especially dad, are into pinball in a big way, a onsie that says "lil flipper"
Grandparents are getting photo books from the photo shoot we did this summer.
Dd is getting an upgrade on her phone. Ds is getting wireless headphones (noise reducing).
My pregnant preschool teacher sister who I buy novelty earrings for is getting a pair of stork earrings.
Those are my most creative gifts this year.

Here's the earlier thread because I am too lazy to post my entire answer again. And because you might want to check that one out yourself anyhow in case people from that thread miss this one.

I can't wait for DS to see his Timberland boots. He is sure that we can't afford them. I found them on sale and got a great deal so I got them.
I got DH a big crate of exotic jerky. He's going to flip out.
Bought DD an iPod touch today..she has asked for one for 2 years (she is 7) and I finally caved.

I'm thinking about getting my nieces on my side of the family a whole pile of books about women excelling in science and other areas. That's a fantastic idea. It is so important for young ladies to see and read about other women succeeding and showing their intelligence proudly. You know, I'm not super excited by any of my presents this year! This is me this year. I am going pretty much off the lists for my kids. But I am getting pretty much everything on them that I can find. Those are my most creative gifts this year. Those are amazing gifts!

Nothing big or extravagant at all.
DD collects the Pop Vinyl figures - bobble head ones as well as some of the regulars.
Every time I'm away and I see some, I check to see which one she really wants.
She covets the Raven figure from the old Teen Titans show. It has been retired for some time now.
I scored one on eBay a couple weeks ago.
SUPER excited to see her face when she opens it!

Right now, I think it's this little gift I threw together on a whim for DS (6). It's an apron, a spoon, & a whisk, all in his favorite color, plus a few cookie/brownie mixes, because he loves to cook/bake, and I figured at his age and reading level, the mixes are something he can pretty much do all on his own.
(He loves to cook and he didn't ask for this (although he did ask for something similar a past Christmas, but didn't receive it). I think it's off his radar now, and because this is his favorite color (the previous set was not), I think he'll love it all the more.

melanell. I suggest this book for your son to add to gift! Salad PeopleThere is an older one called "pretend soup" that's amazing too. At 6, he can follow the recipes - they include drawings, have adorable reviews by kids his age who made and ate the recipe, and also focus on math facts without them even knowing it. My kids loved these books! And we still make the granola and popovers and they are 15 and 18 years old now. LOL.

Not excited except for one thing we are getting our DS. He loves Green Day and we splurged on really good seats to their concert coming to our area in March. DS will be shocked and very excited!
