THIS is what he chooses to tweet about. Wonder what he is trying to deflect from this time?
(I also agree with a whole bunch of other things that have been posted, but this stands out to me-- this seems to be his mode of operation: outrageous tweets and crap-spewing so you don't notice the other stuff like the conflicts of interest, etc. going on behind the curtain.)

I think he is trying to distract us from the disfunction of his transition, from the massive and pervasive conflicts of interest..from his incompetency to hold the office.
the tweets should not always be the headlines..

honestly, I wouldn't ever burn a flag myself (I don't think) but this idiocy almost makes me WANT to, just on principle. Because I can, and it's legally protected for me to do so.

Trump says flag burning should be illegal?
Perhaps having a President who doesn't understand the Constitution, doesn't disclose his finances or his medical records should be illegal.

This is a great idea. I wish the press would starve him of oxygen related to his tweets, outlandish statements and not cover them at all unless they're properly sourced/evidenced. Rebutting every stupid tweet/idea he utters, even if it's w/the "27 pages" of rebuttal/fact checking, doesn't bother him. But not covering them might.

from the politico piece: "...the news is not the claim but the fact that he’s advancing a wildly unfounded claim. That point belongs in the headline, the first sentence of the first paragraph, and elsewhere in the piece. Always pair the latest Trump deception with the news story he’s deflecting attention away from. Feel free to qualify Trump’s thrust by writing something like “in an apparent attempt to bury negative news about his recent proposal” when he tweets his cockamamie best. ..." ^^^ perfect!! They really need to start covering his BS like this!!

What's he trying to distract us from? That's my first thought. He's thrown a straw man up to take focus off of what - his conflicts of interest? It's gotta be something because this is so stupid - even for him.

Apparently, the God Emperor or 'Daddy', as some call him, saw a segment on Fox and Friends about students protesting his win and burning the flag and he responded.
Also announced a Victory Tour, a Thank You tour starting in Ohio Thursday.
Come January, Pence will run the country and Trump will have rallies and shitpost on twitter.

I find flag burning incredibly disrespectful but you can't jail people just for being assholes. there isn't enough space anywhere to do that. You'd need to start a penal colony somewhere.

My question for Trump supporters is, is this really what you wanted? Are you happy with your choice so far? The answer will be one of 3: 1. Yes, he's not HER. 2. Yes, he's not a liberal 3. Yes, "it's the Dem's fault he was elected"

Which I actually don't find as scary as Trump running the country. Which tells you how much I despise Trump since Pence himself is pretty scary. But at least he understands about government, and he's actually been elected to something, and as much as his Christian Reconstructionism horrifies me, I think he at least could be depended on not to fly off the handle and offend half the world leaders with one night's worth of tweets.

with the primary purpose of intimidation or inciting immediate violence or for the act of terrorism. ^^^ this isn't exactly the same as burning it during a protest (in my opinion). So that particular legislation doesn't seem to be any sort of an 'aha' or 'gotcha' about Hillary Clinton, if that's what you're trying to say... ??

Hillary cosponsored a bill called the Flag Protection Act in 2005. Maybe DT is trying to get Dem support? Flag Protection Act ; " The law would have prohibited burning or otherwise destroying and damaging the US flag with the primary purpose of intimidation or inciting immediate violence or for the act of terrorism. It called for a punishment of no more than one year in prison and a fine of no more than $100,000; unless that flag was property of the United States Government, in which case the penalty would be a fine of not more than $250,000, not more than two years in prison, or both" I know you want it

True, but how do police differentiate when it's occurring? Any flag burning can certainly lead to violence...it's a very gray area at best leaving interpretation open. Not a great idea, probably why it didn't pass.

I was waiting for this....You are very predictable, my dear! However, she didn't suggest they should lose their citizenship! I also find it so interesting that conservatives (like Fox news) enjoy quoting Hillary Clinton when it is to their benefit. Then and only then. Doesn't change the fact that King Trump wants to take away citizenship. SaveSave

Since you just keep asking and asking and asking! No, I'm not happy at all with him and his stupid tweets, nor him acting like a child. That's his thing and I'm willing to roll my eyes about it and still continue to hope that our checks and balances hold strong and his presidency will result in some positive change.
He's not who I voted for in the primaries and he's not who I wanted as president, but that's who I was stuck with if I wanted change. I am not concerned with his tweets, they won't amount to jack shit. He does a good job of showing us exactly who he is and what he's thinking. I'll take that over a proper public face with no true idea what he's really thinking. So again, no, I'm not at all happy with the way he acts and tweets random crap. However, I'll hold my ground and see what can come of the next four years.

I'm just pointing out that there are others, including Clinton, that were on the flag burning bandwagon long before Trump (again) tweeted his idiocy. I literally did not know about the Flag Protection Act of 2005 before today and I thought it was really interesting that Hillary co-sponsored that bill, which would put protestors in prison, btw. Felonies carry serious consequences and while her bill doesn't strip people of their citizenship, it would cause massive damage.

They both scare me equally. Pence tried to start a state run news agency in Indiana. Glad that didn't work out. I think he throws shit out there and to see if people are paying attention, then tries to say it wasn't what they thought it was.

While I would never burn a flag myself, it's been settled long ago that you can and I don't agree with anyone trying to change it, regardless of who they are.

My husband fought for that flag...and back to the Revolutionary war we have family that fought for it, right up to even now with family in service...it should be illegal ... oh and before any of you slam me this is what " I " think...this has nothing to do with Trump...it has everything to do with honor and accountability for the ones who fought for it, came back broken and died for it, past, present and future...

don't flame me but, I believe it should be illegal. not a felony but a misdemeanor at the very list. no jail but a fine. the flag is a symbol of our nation and should be accorded a certain level of respect. I understand freedom of speech and our right to express it but to ME, there are just some lines we should not cross out of respect. express yourself in millions of other ways but not by burning the flag.

I also think if the man tweeted "Today is Tuesday" people would be "outraged".
