Sorry, that title is leading but I didn't have room for all of my question. So here it is.
For those who support Trump, and watched the press conference: What are your thoughts on it? We have the other thread, but I am SINCERELY interested in how those who support Trump felt it went. And if we can refrain (I know it's gonna be tough) from this thread getting ugly, I'd really appreciate it!
I still to this day fail to see his appeal, but I am genuinely interested in your thoughts on the press conference. If you want to share, I thank you in advance!

Buzzfeed reports that the Russians have video of Trump getting golden showers link
“I’m also very much of a germaphobe, by the way, believe me,” Trump says Trump cited his germophobia as a possible reason as to why the reports from the dossier about alleged lewd acts on a hotel room bed were untrue. “Does anyone really believe that story? I’m also very much of a germaphobe, by the way, believe me,” Trump said. In earlier comments, Trump cited his high profile as a celebrity businessman as further evidence as to why the unverified allegations in a dossier published on Tuesday were untrue. “When I leave our country, I’m a very high-profile person, would you say? I am extremely careful,” Trump said. “I’m surrounded by bodyguards. I’m surrounded by people.” The president-elect said his awareness of hidden cameras possibly being places in hotel rooms was further evidence of why such a video would not exist. “You better be careful or you’ll be watching yourself on nightly television. I tell this to people all the time,” Trump said, adding that “cameras are so small, with modern technology, you can’t see them and you won’t know.”

I think the vast majority of peas who voted for Trump are long gone from 2peas or else gone into hiding.... Can't say as I blame them, frankly, but anyway - don't think you'll get many takers.

I said it once AND I will say it again, these "people that are long gone", many of which were quite nasty about Muslims and were rather nasty to me. I am lost on the hair flip of feigned nastiness.

I am, and have been almost from the time he announced he was running, a Trump supporter. That being said, I have broused through a lot of the Trump bashing on Two Peas and know that this is primarily a liberal board. I would gladly give my reasons for my support of him but not when I know what will happen to me if I do I would love to discuss my presidential choice with those of the other side as I feel I am a very good listener to their side; but, sadly, I find that very seldom are they good listeners to my side. I guess we will have to agree to disagree. Good luck with this post as it could be a very informative read, but I have my doubts it will happen. I apologize for being negative before it even gets a good start though

Do you want just Trump supporters views or do you want Republicans that voted for Trump views also? They are two very different groups who seem to have totally different views and outlook for the upcoming 4 years.
Yes, I know when it comes to the peas it's a hard line. You voted for Trump, therefore you are a Trump supporter. This is bullshit in my real world though. There really is two very different groups! I also think that is why most republicans that voted for him (that's still here) will no longer chime in. Heck, I'm very hesitant to do so myself. I'm getting really tired of reading the same ole stuff here and hope to bring at least a bit of a different perspective.
As far as the conference goes, I watched all of it and thought he pulled it off a little better than I expected. There's a lot of information he put out that I'd like to verify. One instance is when he said he had absolutely no ties with Russia, no business deals past, present or future. I hope that comes to be true. I'm very interested in the ACA repeal and replace, but for now it's just the same old words being used. I want to see what kind of changes can be made to make it work for the majority. This is an issue I feel strongly about so I'll be following it closely. I did laugh a bit about the "watch out for cameras" bit. He should have developed that sense years ago, or did he just develop that sense after the Billy Bush fiasco. I'm guessing the later. I think that statement will likely take up a good portion of news covering the conference more than anything else he said. I truly hope that's not the case though. I'd rather bigger issues get looked into.
If there is something specific that he said and you'd like my view on, please ask.

The tit-for-tat with celebrities, the insensitive comments, the tweeting about foreign policies? I just can't wrap my head around it. This, for me, is not at all about Republican vs Democrat. It's so much more than that. It's truly scary.

I'm not a Trump supporter and never respond on these threads but I did have one thought that I want to share.
He was asked what his plan was for the ACA. All I've heard him say is 'repeal and replace.' Ok, fine, I understand that, but what are you going to replace it WITH? If he would just answer the questions and gave the viewer some idea of what he is replacing it with then I think he would get (a teeny bit) more respect.
THAT is what scares me the most, he gives us no idea about what his actually plans are.

I haven't watched it....sorry no comment at the moment. Very political response:) Sorry but even once I do, I will not respond. The claws came out both on the board and with PM'S. This is as much political response I'll say due to the nasty behavior that has happened in the past. Thank you for asking and I'm sorry I won't be answering.

@river, I guess both. I'm curious what you feel are the difference between those who support Trump and those who voted for Trump. And you're correct, I do (maybe inadvisedly) think that they are one and the same. I appreciate you sharing your thoughts thus far. How did you feel about what I felt was Trump being antagonistic towards the press? cjacker. I'm really sorry that you don't feel that you can share your thoughts. I honestly, up until this election cycle felt that this board leaned to the right. Strange how that perception of mine has been changed now.

I am lost on the hair flip of feigned nastiness. Most peas who left (liberal and conservative) deleted their accounts and said nothing. I remember a couple of conservative I'm leaving threads and 1 liberal. If you go back and read some of the threads before the election, there are numerous deleted accounts. Most of them, I couldn't tell you what side they were on by just seeing a name and zero posts. Meaning, their posts didn't stand out as inflammatory. I think the reasons are varied. There's now way to know if they said nothing. Sometimes it's just time to move on. Anyway, I don't think deleting an account is a hair flip. I don't mind a political discussion, but when I see certain peas from both sides it's time to mark the thread as read because nothing good will happen. michym, I hope you get some answers, but I don't have hopes either side will remain civilized.

I would gladly give my reasons for my support of him but not when I know what will happen to me if I do I would love to discuss my presidential choice with those of the other side This isn't the question here though. The OP is asking for your thoughts on the press conference only. Not why he was your choice or why you support him. There have been other threads asking why people chose him and why they support him, yes. This is a different question.

I didn't watch, but as I passed by the television while he was speaking I thought he looked a lot less orange. That's a move in the right direction.

I have broused through a lot of the Trump bashing on Two Peas and know that this is primarily a liberal board. It's not. There plenty threads against Hillary. Do you want just Trump supporters views or do you want Republicans that voted for Trump views also? They are two very different groups who seem to have totally different views and outlook for the upcoming 4 years. You didn't have to vote for Trump just because you're a republican. You could have written your own name down. This is no longer a debate between dems and reps, this is an issue of character which you can't ignore. The sad nightmare begins next week of his Presidency. It's a complete embarrassment to have him represent this country. Trump's offenses are not equal to Hillary's email scandal, which by the way happened to George W. Bush too but that story got NO traction.

I also want to add that I stay away from the political posts as much as possible. I'm really very sorry that people can't share their thoughts, and also that this thread got waylayed so damn quickly. I tried. I did. And was in the mood to listen with an open mind.
I have ONE friend who I know voted for Trump. I'm sure there are more, but in the land of liberals (Seattle) she's the only one I know of. Unfortunately she isn't very articulate (not just about politics) so having a discussion with her about the press conference won't happen. And in all honesty I doubt she watched it.

I agree. It's a dilemma for me. I just could not vote for Trump, BUT I know others who did. They fit a wide spectrum too. Yes, some are definite assholes and others are none of the above that you listed. If you answer the question, it will become a personal attack from a few peas. They will not stop. It happens with conservative peas too. I'll never believe all Republicans are evil and I'll never believe the same for Democrats. It's an us vs them mentality leaving this independent voter sick of the threads. I'll participate and even start a thread, but past page 2, it is usually pointless.

Those same sentiments and others have been expressed towards liberals here too with this election, just as much. Well then call out the individuals that have said such things towards liberals. I have read over and over the blanket comments made towards anyone that voted for Trump; if a person made a racist comment, and voted for Trump, call that person a racist, not everyone that voted for him, etc. That's not how it works here though.
