Happy Friday! The storm is here and it's really, really raining. So, I am all bundled up for the weekend. Thanks ladies for the kind words on my cards. I hope to make a few more just for fun this weekend. Also, gonna make some blueberry muffins. I made some years ago and they weren't that good so I want to give it another try. So here goes. LOL! LisaDV - Yeah, the V day cards I am sending to some fam and friends. Waving hello to you all and have a nice evening.

I was writing an email to Silhouette's support to see how many recoveries I had so I can put the software on my new laptop. Sometimes I like to sit out in the living room and work up my page design and then save till I am back in the scrap room. I work up my entire page on the screen on the sil right nest to box where you cut things that way I know if I have the sizes of my die cuts right. Then I was reading about the cloud and then all of my library is accessible from all my computers and stays up to date when I purchase new products. So anyway now I have thread going to see if those who have like it and if it working like it is supposed to. Anybody over here have it?

Good Friday evening, Ladies. Wondering what you will be doing for the long weekend if you are having one this weekend. In Alberta, we have Family Day on Monday. No one is coming "home" for that this year. Being retired, long weekends don't change my daily routine much, except that dh doesn't go into town for coffee on weekends and holidays. By Monday, I hope to have my scraproom tidied up. Got my Christmas scrappy supplies stowed away into their corner today, and put a couple of iris containers up on the shelf where they belong. Now I need to sort and put away my other themed supplies, as well as put away a bunch of income tax documents and other papers that have been piling up on the corner of my counter. I hope to get into scrapping at least a bit next week, although we have at least 3 days filled with other activities. Not sure where I will start, but I still have a stack of fun photos to work with, and lots of stash to build pages to put them on. And another list of titles, so it shouldn't be too hard to get back into it. I really like your resolve, LisaDV, to do something creative every day. I guess a clean studio is a good thing, but I really should have a Tshirt that says "I'd rather be scrapbooking!" Tomorrow we have a funeral for a neighbour who passed away suddenly last weekend. Today we visited with his kids (aged 19 to 24 years old), sisters, and parents. Everyone is still in shock. Baking muffins sounds like a wonderful way to spend a rainy weekend, kellyr21. I would really like to see some of your dressed up boxes, nylene. I know I wouldn't have the patience to make a whole batch like you are doing now, but I could see doing a small gift box for a birthday or special occasion. I hope you get your silhouette working the way you want it to, scrapincin. My Cricut is not connected to my computer, so I work only from cartridges. Sometimes I miss the welding and shaping capability of my old Wishblade... Anyway, hope you all have a wonderful weekend, no matter how long it is!

scrapincin , I use the silhouette cloud. The best thing is there is NO download time! The images just show up immediately. I haven't figured out if there is a way to download all of the cut files so I could put them on a portable hard drive. I like having the option if the internet goes out. I can pull up the images on my iphone. I don't really like the iphone app that much, but I like using it to get ideas of what I want. kellyr21 , are you staying in and dry? Doesn't look like today was going to be much better for California. This was my favorite blueberry muffin recipe when I did gluten baking. I never went wrong with it, even if I didn't have buttermilk and used whole milk with a tsp or two of acid (lemon juice or apple cider vinegar). grammadee , so sorry to hear about your neighbor. That poor family. I'm sure you'll still get your room clean even with your weekend activities, and you'll be back to your lovely layouts. I need that t-shirt too. Don & I were talking this morning. Well I was giving Don a little grief. He was talking about when the kids move out. I told him, I would either be at the kids or in the scrap room, not hanging out with him. DD told him to get a new dog and call it "Wife" then he could say he and his Wife spend all their time together. She even goes hunting with him. I started - wait for it - - a traditional paper layout this morning! I know I did 12 double page layouts in January, but they were without story or photos, so it doesn't feel like it counts. KWIM? So far I'm really liking it. Yesterday, was a really good day. I took ds for his well check up and then he was stuck running errands with me. To make it less tedious, we treated ourselves to a library trip and out to lunch. By the time we left the restaurant it was sunny and warm. Plus, I was up at 5am so I created a digital double page layout before getting ready. Then once we came home, I needed to veg from being out, so I created another digital double page layout. Then we bought Dr. Strange from Amazon and watched it as a family. Today, it is sunny and warm again, and I feel lighter in spirit with the sun shining. But the kids have school, since ds didn't do it yesterday and dd was too sick to complete it. No 3 day weekend for us. They'll have school on Monday as usual, and Don has to go in to work. Hope everyone is having a great weekend.

LisaDV, I laughed out loud when I read about the dog named Wife! I told my dh about that, and then told him I need a dog named Husband, because maybe then my husband would listen to me. My scraproom is as organized as it is going to get, so I am planning to get back into scrapping tomorrow (Sunday). Some peas are setting up an on line crop for the day, so if any of you have time to join in, that would be awesome! Hope you are safe and warm, kellyr21. And that you got the cloud to work for you, scrapincin.

So far I have not been able to get the cloud working. I tried 4 times to download the software and it failed every time. Even rebooted my coputer but no go. I will try tomorrow and if it works fine . If it doesn't I will just download the current edition of my software and then the library. I did get it backed up into dropbox. Ok headed for bed as it is 11:30 here.

I got up at 4:30 this morning-why I have no idea! So about 5:30 I started downloading the software took all the way to 3 minutes! Then when I finished the first computer I installed on the new laptop. The next time my internet goes out I will try it out to see if it works without the internet. Well I am going to get off of here and see if it works!

Hope it all worked for you, scrapincin. I finished a couple of double pagers today, playing along with the pop up crop on this board. I had put away everything, so now I just had to grab a set of photos, then grab something that worked with them. This was my first LO. I started here because I had the large photo to work with, and because in my cleaning, I had found some shells collected while on vacation. winter getaway by Gramma Dee, on Flickr winter getaway 2 by Gramma Dee, on Flickr When looking for something to go with these cartwheel photos, that Authentique pp with the circles caught my eye. The challenge was to use at least 3 different papers, so I grabbed a couple more sheets from the collection and cut them into strips, and then just added a few more quick elements: nailed it by Gramma Dee, on Flickr Nailed it 2 by Gramma Dee, on Flickr

grammadee, I love your cartwheel layout. Those photos are fantastic. It's 11pm here and this is my first chance at 2PsRefugees, so I'm sure I've missed the crop. That's so nice that everyone came together for a crop though. Love the sense of community here. and Yes, we had a good laugh at my dd's dog named Wife comment as well. Although I have to tell you I believe that if you named a dog Husband, it would be destined not to listen. Well, maybe if it was a girl dog, but a boy....forget it. lol scrapincin, Sorry you had trouble downloading the icloud library. Quite frankly I don't even know how I did it. I was just updating my software and the next thing you know I have this icloud thing showing up. I hope it's all working fine now. I woke up and finished my traditional layout this morning. Then did dishes, because no one did them last night. Then I stripped ds bed and sorted the bedding that needed to be done. I had to go to the laundry mat to do it. My king comforter doesn't fit in my washer by any means. However, my washer has been acting up. It washes smaller loads fine, but give it anything bulky and it goes berserk, so all of the bedding had to go. I think it just never got leveled after the last fix. Don has it on his to do list. SO, I won't hold my breath, because he still has clean laundry so it's not going to make it to the top of his list until I really complain. Then I had to wait for dd to get up. She's been hurting more than usual at night lately and not sleeping well, so I tend to let her sleep. (luckily she's been doing good through the day though.) Since I had to wait, it was a good time to start another digital double page layout. When she did get up I went to town. Then finished my errands that I didn't do yesterday. When I got home it was straight to starting dinner, then cleaning up, then making beds. Finally I had a chance to finish my pages from this morning. Fairly productive day. Oh and it was 50 and sunny. I had no jacket on, Don aired out the house while I was gone. And when I kissed my kids when I came home they had that fresh air smell to their skin. I know they were still outside when I kissed them, but I could seriously smell it on them. Best smell ever. Yeah, so that was my day. Quite the run down, sorry. My excuse is it's late. I can't believe tomorrow is Monday. I'm not ready. I haven't prepped our school week yet. Plus, I still have lots of papers to grade, but I think it'll have to wait until tomorrow. Hope everyone had a good weekend and unlike me is ready for the week ahead.

grammadee - what a lovely Winter Getaway! The layout is wonderful, such a contrast with the snowflakes and the sea shells, sure does tell the story right off the bat with the embellishments. Love Love Love the Nailed It layout. That pattern paper works perfectly for this active photo page. So glad you shared these with us. You always inspire me to get by fanny in gear and make some pages..... .....alas, I have been under the weather since Thursday. I believe I was suffering from an inner ear infection. I was dizzy, with no other symptoms. I had one about two years ago while we were out camping and I went to the ER room where that is what they diagnosed it as. I had exactly the same symptoms, so we let it play out since the only medication provided the on the previous occasion was anti nausea medicine, and as long as I stayed laying down (which they also recommended) I did not feel nauseous. Anyway, I could tell as each day I felt a little less dizzy that we had made the correct call. Had promised the grandgirls a visit this weekend so the came and we laid around and watched movies all weekend. Now I finally know the whole Harry Potter story - LOL. Looking forward to getting some scrapping done, and will start preparing the house for CalvinBall in March. Hubby lets me take over the entire house so I can can spread out all my scrappy tools in order to maximize my page count - which of course is my ultimate CalvinBall goal. Have a wonderful day ladies.

I have Silhouette software and the cloud on both computers! It says I am synced to the cloud. The second computer gave me no problems at all. I think the first one gave me problems because of the internet going out part way thru. Now we shall see if I like it this way. All thee newer software will be attached to the cloud but you can keep 3.6 whatever for the time being-you do not have to go on the new software if you don't want to. I would like t ask you for your prayers for my niece's newborn twin girl Addison. She has RSV and was hospitalized last week with it. Then she was released and they felt she was well enough for mother to take care of her. Last night tlife flighted her to a hospital in Nashville as she had bilateral infections and dehydrated and her O2 levels were low. Not only that but her mom has RSV now andan ear infection, Her older sister-2 yrs old also has RSV abd dad has a strep throat. maribeth sure hope you are feeling better. There are so many people sick right now. Here in Ohio we have had 4 children have passed away from the flu. nylene- we are missing you. I figured you might have time to get on today. Hope to see you later. LisaDV You probably read about the success if being synced to the cloud. I tried disconnecting from the net but had to reconnect to pull up my library. I think what you have to do is use the top of the chain in the library and use the local user choices. I will be trying it and will let you know how it goes. I just had a migraine and decided I did not want to deal with right then, kellyr21-How are handling all the storms. I think about you everytime our news comes on. What a mess and feel so bad that so many have died from the storm. Waving hi to everyone and BBL

Sorry I have been absent. It seems like I am busier now than when I had little children home. I know that's not true, it's just a different kind of busy. I have read the chat on my ipad, but just didn't get into the scraproom to respond on the computer. grammadee, those layouts are wonderful. The cartwheel photos are amazing. I love that big photo on your Winter page. Will check them out in the gallery. LisaDV, reading about your day with your busy family makes me remember those days when I hardly had time to breathe. This too shall pass! Then you will long for some of those great experiences again. I had to laugh about the washer not being on the top of the list...because he has clean clothes. I think we can all identify with that! maribeth, I'm sorry you have been feeling dizzy and unwell. I hope that you continue to get better. I'm glad you were able to enjoy the grandgirls and watch movies with them even while not feeling well. I love that you use your whole house to spread out for Calvinball. You need to take photos to show us! scrapincin, by the time that I got my Silhouette and the new computer there wasn't a choice except the cloud. I have not had trouble with it, but of course I don't have it on 2 devices either. I hope you can get it worked out. If anyone can, you can. I received the replacement mat from Silhouette this morning. They were very nice about it. kellyr21, is the rain going to cause flooding in your area? We have had a lot of rain on top of feet of snow and it's been scary in some places. We have sandbags for our basement door so that we won't have a flood in the carport again. It rained all day yesterday but is clear and cold today. I still have a bunch of boxes to finish, so I'd better get moving. Have a great week, everyone.

Here in Ohio we have had 4 children have passed away from the flu. Oh Cindy that is terrible. Yes we have a lot of sick folks here at work as well. I didn't get any overt symptoms just the inner/middle (whatever it is called) ear infection that made me dizzy (dizzier than I already am) nylene - I am feeling fine today, thank you. I will try to take photos of the CalvinBall house mess for you - LOL grammadee and LisaDV - CalvinBall threads have started over at Get It Scrapped.

scrapincin, oh, no. Praying for Addison and her whole family!! Hope your migraine is gone as well. I'm glad you got the silhouette cloud figured out on your computers, I can't wait until you share how to use it off line. Of course, no rush, I still have to call them regarding my cameo. maribeth, I'm so jealous that you get the whole house for Calvin Ball. You are one lucky woman. I need to clean up the house a bit in preparation for it. Sounds like a lovely weekend with the girls. Did you enjoy the Harry Potter movies? The books are so much better. Don & I read them as they came out. Each time a new one would come out, we'd re-read the previous. Then I read them aloud to my dd (whole family) once. Then we listened to them on CD as I wanted to read them again but didn't want to invest the time, that way I could be doing dishes, crafting, folding laundry etc. You'd think I'd remember them better than I do. Just not important enough. So sorry you were ill. How are you feeling now??? That so stinks to have to be laying down. nylene, glad to 'see' you on. How many boxes do you have left to make? I have been having a less productive day than I should be having. I went to the post office to mail something, forgetting that it's a holiday and closed. I should call silhouette but just don't wanna. (insert big pouty face and exaggerated arm cross here). I'm trying to get out of making dinner right now. lol. I think they should be able to make themselves sandwiches, right?! I've been kitting for CalvinBall this month and got all of my stories/photos on the spreadsheet - for digital and traditional. I won't get through all of them, but if I do, I have more that I can quickly pull from. Have a great day.

LisaDV - Harry Potter - Yes my granddaughter keeps telling me all the things that are in the books that are not in the films. I was never into Harry Potter, I don't really get fantasy for some reason - so when my granddaughter got into them she said she would explain all the things that go on that I don't understand. I have to say the final two films were my favorite and I could understand them a bit more even without backstory. So fun to prepare for the Ball isn't it! I hope you get a lot accomplished. And I am spoiled, with getting the entire house and all

Good Monday evening, Pokeys. Glad you are feeling better, maribeth. And what fun having a Harry Potter marathon! Thanks for the heads up about CalvinBall. I have claimed my spot over there. So glad it will be run through the forum again instead of fb. I may not be using the whole house, but now I have my scraproom organized, I should be able to get a lot done during March. Have you decided when you are going to run a similar event on the Peas board? I hope your niece and her family come out of this okay, scrapincin. Glad you finally got your Silhouette talking to your computers. I don't have a lot of patience for techy things. Good to see that you are scrapping again, LisaDV. Have enjoyed seeing your creations in the Gallery. You and justjac will be more than warmed up for CB. I finished another couple of double pages today, and I have the photos and supplies out for another to do on Wednesday. Tomorrow is dgs's bd and we are spending the day with him. Hey Pokeys. I left home on Saturday to visit my parents. DH stayed home because he has to work and I have the whole week off. Unfortunately my dad went into the hospital Saturday with a bowel obstruction. We're hoping it clears up on its own or he will have to go to the bigger hospital in the bigger city and look into surgical solutions. At least the whole family was already planned no to visit for the long weekend so nobody had to change plans. I've continued to do my daily page a day. I also managed to get together with a friend to scrap for a couple of hours last night. The plan was for me to head home Thursday, but that could change depending on dad.
I've been reading all your posts. I hope everyone is feeling better and having a productive day.

scrapincin, I missed your last post. I think I had the thread open and didn't get back to the computer until evening and I didn't refresh. I am praying for little Addison and for the rest of the family. Hugs to you and your family too. Utah has had 4 children die of the flu also. I hope the warm weather will come soon and burn off the germs. grammadee, you are really a fast scrapper! I'll leave love in the layout. Is your DH feeling better? LisaDV, I think I only have 15 more boxes to go. It has been nice to use up a bunch of paper I bought at AC warehouse. They sell 25 or 50 sheets of all one pattern for $2. I buy for the B side to use as backgrounds and cut them up for layering, but it's still hard to use it all up. So this has really given me more room in my paper boxes. I have "killed" 6 of those packs. I just make sure to save a couple of sheets that are really versatile. justjac, I am praying for your dad. My DH has had those twice. I know how miserable he must be. I hope it clears by itself and they don't have to do surgery. Hugs for you and your family. kellyr21, I am concerned about all the rain they are having in your area. I hope you are safe and dry. I will be back later.

grammadee , Love, Love, Love your morning Ride pages. On screen the title looks like an etched rope! I'd say that glitter glue was a perfect choice. The first thought that came to mind with your great birthday pages was "oh, Dee, you are too cute!" and I love that the grands are helping to blow out the candles. Enjoy your dgs birthday. justjac , sorry about your dad. I hope the obstruction clears on its own. It's so nice that everyone was there with him. Prayers for you and your family. Be back later to chat. ***ETA When I pulled up this thread it was over an hour ago and it stopped at justjac's post. See how long it takes me to respond to things. I did stop and go visit the gallery in between. Trying to keep current and work back. nylene, I already left you love in the gallery. You'll have those boxes finished in no time. Happy Tuesday! So far the rain hasn't been disruptive for my area. Even last weekend was a dud. They we telling the "worst storm" was hitting and it was a couple of hours of wind and heavy rain and that was it. So we are going fine. No worries! Oh boy, you all are really scrapping and that is great. I see several of you are doing the Calvinball. I was reading the thread here about it and it sounds like the fun Two Peas crops we used to have. Is it for just a month and do you win prizes with the points you earn? LisaDV- It is so funny that the blueberry muffin recipe you recommended is the same one I found and wanted to try. great minds think alike! LOL! I will try this one soon. The one I did try turned out like drop biscuits with blueberries in it. Tasted ok but not like muffins. So, I want to try it again. Also, gotta try that cake frosting again. I am in a baking mode still. It is fun teaching myself all this and hope to get better at it. Have a nice day all!

I will be doing her dinner-chicken pot pie ! Did some shopping today as Maggie's Birthday is in 2 weeks. justjac sure hope your dad is doing better and can get thru this without surgery. I will include him in my prayers. grammadee How is your DH doing? Are his med changes helping? nylene do not worry about missing my post this thread has been really busy -I do think we are going to make 5 pages again this month! kellyr21 Glad to hear you were not affected much by the storms. We are home safely after a busy day. I have tomorrow to rest up and then Thursday I am off to Edmonton for a date with two dgs's while their parents go to the Garth Brooks concert. Thanks for all the love in the Gallery! I have pics and papers laid out for a couple of pages tomorrow. Good thing I did that last night, because the bd party played me out pretty good, so not thinking clearly this evening. Lots of interest from here for Calvinball this year! kellyr21, we play for points (which, Calvin and Hobbes style, we assign ourselves), but not for prizes. The more projects you complete, and the more little extras you can add onto each (like say foiling, or using paint, or homemade embellishments) the more extra points you can "earn". And you can create pages or cards or whatever your creative heart desires. ((((HUGS)))) to you and your family, justjac. I hope this is something that can be resolved without surgery. Glad they are able to help with the pain and keep him more or less comfortable for the time being. Glad your tiny dgn is improving, scrapincin. Have fun at your birthday party! And now I need to head off to bed.

scrapincin, glad dgn is doing better. How's the rest of the family? Will keep them all in my prayers. kellyr21, I'm glad you're area is not being horribly affected by the rains. Good luck with your baking endeavors. I used to even grind my own wheat. They akin baking more to science and cooking to art. Baking always came natural to my math/science brain, and I really had to work at cooking. justjac, I see 2 lovely layouts there (well all are lovely) only 2 that I haven't commented on, plus I'm sure I have some from the beginning of the month. I'll try to catch up before the end of the month. How's your dad doing? I'm trying to clean my craft room in preparation for CalvinBall. I think I'm going to buy the board for Don to make a table top for me this weekend. I want the extra space for spreading out. We'll see if I can make it happen.

LisaDV- Oh, I meant to ask, about making your own buttermilk. After you add the lemon juice or vinegar to the milk, how long do you let it sit before adding to the recipe? I never grew up baking very much so this is still sort of new to me. I cook pretty good but have a lot to learn about baking and frosting.

Good Wednesday evening! Thanks for asking about dh's health. He is feeling quite a bit better. Is now in the care of a cardiologist who is doing lots of tests. Tonight he has on a portable monitor, and has to turn it in tomorrow. Then the cardiologist has scheduled a full workup in Edmonton the first week in April. We are already scheduled to be in Edmonton the weekend before the tests to watch the Mens' World Curling championships, so we will just have to extend our stay a couple of nights. Glad you are OK, kellyr21. We had snow over last weekend, but no storms. It is melting again now. Hope your muffins turn out okay. I usually just add the vinegar to the milk, give it a quick stir, wait just a minute, then use in the recipe. I cleaned my scraproom as much as I ever do last week, LisaDV. My photos are sorted and my list of titles is waiting. Today I was going to put together a couple of pages I had planned a couple of days ago, but instead I did a couple of quick pages with the Valentines photos I printed yesterday. By serendipity, as I was doing the Morning Ride pages, I found some black & white checked pp that really worked with the Tshirts my ddil had made for herself and the boys, and I had made the little hearts from candy wrappers before I had the photos, so once I had the photos, I just went ahead and did the pages.
