grammadee I love your Valentine's pages. Those candy wrapper hearts are awesome. Thanks for your prayers for my dad, everyone. We are in "the big city" and he had a stent put in. We were worried he would have to have a colostomy so this was much less invasive. So far, he is doing better. Here is my latest page for LOAD. It's a digi page using a kit called Oh the Drama. justjac - prayers for your Dad. 1. Halloween - I have that paper - I found that collection really fun to work with. Darliing layout. 2. Mardi Gras 1,2,3, - Way to LOAD (pun intended) on the photos. Love the embellishments you chose and the color of the background pages, what a fun event to document. 3. Chistmas Deliver - What an adorable little truck. What collection is that from? I love the design style on the page the large cluster of photos, with the smaller cluster of embellishments, along with the scattered ones. Just delightful. 4. Tommmy Douglas - Adore the classic style layout. Classy, super super classy. 5. Create Art - This layout really shouts to me the love of creating and playing with art. It feels very light and airy and fresh. Perfect. 6. Untitled - Love this monochromatic blue page. I really like to use this style myself. Crisp, Clean, Modern. 7. Happy Birthday? - Loving the celebratory feel of this page, the backgroud gives me a sense of balloons floating around, without actually have the background filled with actual balloon images. The banner is so cute. 8. Yoga - WOW, perfect page. The use of the calming green color, along with the silhouettes really gives this layout that serene feel you should get from practicing yoga. You Nailed this one. 9. Leading Lady - What program do you you use for creating your digital pages? I love the colors used the background paper with the multicolor words, and the photo placement works beautifully. Thank you justjac for sharing all these pages. Wonderful!

grammadee - Hello Sweethearts - Oh these two pages are simply stunning. What an excellent blend of the various types/texture of the hearts. I love the black and white checked paper used here, it really grounds the photos, and also makes it unique as a Valentine layout, so often it is all hearts and nothing but the hearts, this really freshens up the look to me.

Page 5! we did it ladies. Sure wish I had pages to post this month, but I have in the throngs of preparing for CalvinBall. But watch out - once CalvinBall starts, you are going to see a ton of pages from me. And I do literally mean a ton. (We all know how heavy a stack of paper is). I checked my last year page count and it was 112. My goal is to surpass that so ya'll need to keep me motivated and on track to GET THESE PAGES DONE, TO KEEP THOSE MEMORIES DOCUMENTED, AND TO ENJOY DOING IT ALONG THE WAY! Started setting up my tables in the living room yesterday at lunch and worked on them a bit more when I got home last night. I have also been working at getting all my photos and photos of scrapbook pages loaded up to the service Forever an online photo storage solution that is guaranteed to keep your photos for your lifetime plus 100 years. You leave access to family or friends, and it becomes their account and they can add their photos. I think this is a great way to preserve the memories, especially since you don't know who down the line will be interested in the history we are creating. You can give access via links to others you would like to view and can even narrow the access to certain albums so that someone can see just one and not your entire collection. I had a horrible dream last night that the boss came in to work and said he was just shutting the company down. Poof out of a job. I know ladies I always complain about my job, but when I woke up, I was sure glad I have one. Have a wonderful day, talk to everyone later.

I hope your Dad continues to improve, justjac. I can't believe all the efficiencies you are building into your home, maribeth, to take on Calvinball! I keep my crafting--mostly--in my scraproom. But I DO have stations set up in here (when they are not buried under paper and other scrap crap) I am heading off to Edmonton to spend the evening with ds's little guys will he and ddil attend the Garth Brooks concert tonight. I will be passing by--and undoubtedly stopping in--to two LSS's and an M's while up there. I have an M's gc from my bd, and of course I will be taking my VISA!!! Also need to go shopping for a soon to be eleven-year-old dgd (She wants "baking stuff") Living out here in the country, I always try to fit in as much shopping as possible into any trip to the city! This morning I finished two pages I had started on Monday. They didn't work out nearly as cool as I had envisioned, but they are DONE! just add balloons by Gramma Dee, on Flickr just add balloons2 by Gramma Dee, on Flickr

grammadee, love the valentine's pages. kellyr21, I use 1 Tbsp for each cup of milk, stir and let set for 5 to 10 minutes. You'll see that it starts to thicken a bit and sometimes you'll see small curdled bits. You're good to go. justjac, I'm glad your dad is doing better. Hopefully this will take care of it. Will continue to pray for him. Gorgeous page, also. Hope to make it to the gallery this weekend to leave some love. maribeth, that's interesting about the Forever service. I'll look into that. You will crank on CB this year. I won't be participating for one whole weekend. DD & I have our girls weekend March 9th-12th. We were going to do print making/mixed media, but I may squeeze in a layout or two. The boys go away every year and meet up with other guys to play games, and we always use that as our girl time. Today is business as usual around here with school and chores. My spare time over the last two days, I've been cleaning up a corner of the scrap room that has had lots of other stuff piled into it. I should be finished by this evening finding homes for things that did not previously have homes or putting things in their homes. I'm considering it my crafty time as it will help me be crafty and it puts my mixed media cart in its proper place. My husband is suppose to be preparing documents for the tax guy and crunching numbers so we can compare his owning his own company to taking a full time job. His major client has asked him to come full time. I know it's a pay cut though. There are pros and cons to each answer, but he's suppose to crunch some numbers so we can talk. So he thought he'd help us all procrastinate in our day by taking us all for a walk of our property, including checking out the new pieces. It was a nice walk, only bits and pieces of land have snow still on them. Very unusual for February. Of course, he's still procrastinating. I'm off to get something finished.

I cannot believe we are on page 5 again. This thread has really been moving. I had to take DH to Salt Lake this a.m. for a golf meeting, but woke up to tons more snow and terrible black ice. Em actually drove for me and I rode along. We watched a near accident between a car and a school bus. Luckily the car spun around and ended up side by side with the bus instead of hitting head on. He just could not stop at all. Luckily we didn't have to go back up to get DH this afternoon because he found a ride home with a salesman. Whew! it took an hour and 40 min for a trip that would normally take 35 min. Lots of accidents along the way. scrapincin , I am so glad to hear the good news about baby Addison. How are the rest of the family members doing? justjac , I am so happy for your dad. They had to open DH up and remove a section of small bowel. I hope your dad heals quickly and has no more problems. I am behind on your beautiful layouts but will catch them after school tomorrow. I have a meeting tonight and won't be home until late. Just a quick check in! Will chat later.

I have to remember to refresh my page before I finally post. I see I missed your birthday layout grammadee. It's quite a fun layout. scrapincin, so glad to hear Addison is home. Has the rest of the family's health improved as well? nylene, that sounds like a horrible drive. I hate driving in that weather. Glad you and Steve both made it home safe. justjac, love your page. I love that you have your inky fingers and a watercolor paper. I will try to catch up on your layouts this weekend in the gallery. We had snow last night and by this morning it was a freezing mix which is suppose to be here throughout the day. With the kids being older now, Don and I were actually going to go out for lunch date. I can't remember our last real date. Unfortunately, he's developed a cough and with the weather, it will have to be postponed. Sadder still, because we were going to stop at a hardware store and get the top for my craft desk, and he was going to get it fixed up for me over the weekend. (DD was like, "fun date, Mom" in her best sarcastic tone). Oh, well, I guess I can clean the living room or kitchen. ...I've really been wanting to rearrange some things in the kitchen.... Hope everyone else has a really great day and great start to your weekend.

grammadee - just add balloons - I think I will. Balloons are so fun! Your layout shouts the fun with balloons through your use of the HUGE balloon die cut filled with photos, the colors and the title and embellishments. Wonderful justjac - your Beautiful Mess is Beautiful. What a great way to display the photos of your scrapbooking process with the wonderful mixed media background (but that is digital correct?)

I think I am finally caught up with all your beautiful layouts. I'll go to the gallery and check to see if I missed any. You guys are becoming such Fast Scrappers instead of Pokeys. How I love to come here and see lots of pages! grammadee, I love the balloons layout and wanted to tell your about my granddaughter's balloon experience. Her boyfriend's family owns a non-profit company and they travel to a tiny little town in Mexico each Christmas vacation. They have built a school and other needed projects and last year they took balloons and tied them to the legs of the children to play the "be the last one to have an unstomped balloon" game. Most of the children went to hide because they didn't want those beautiful balloons popped. The American family learned a lesson and Megan (DGD)said they took bags of balloons when they went down this Christmas time. They had no idea how important a little balloon was to a child who has practically nothing. They had local families here "host" a family and provide Christmas for each family member. They were able to provide gifts for the whole little town. Megan spend 2 years in Spain so she went as an interpreter for those who don't speak Spanish. I will never look at balloons the same way again. LisaDV, we had snow all day and all night last night. It's still coming down. I don't blame you for not wanting to go out in it. I hope you get your table top soon so you can prepare for CB. Did you ever get the Silhouette working? Shouting out a hello to each of you. I am trying to get my cleaning done today so I can help Megan with a quilt/blanket all day tomorrow. I'll chat later!

Happy Friday! I hope you all are having a nice day. This week I did work on some cards with another pp kit I got last year. I feels nice to use more of that paper. Thanks to LisaDV and grammadee I made my second batch of blueberry muffins with the homemade buttermilk! I was all set to start cooking yesterday and realized I didn't have enough flour. We always have plenty and I was so bummed to see we were low. So I cut the recipe in half to work with the flour I had. This recipe was soooo much better than the other one I tried. They looked and tasted like good muffins. But since I used half the recipe today I wanted to do it again with all the full measurements. I'll get ya know how these come out too. nylene- Oh, I am so glad you got your kind Em to drive you all to your dh's meeting. That black ice sounds scary. What is it? SO glad you are all ok and those drivers and children too. LisaDV- I hope you and your dh get another try at that date night soon. At our age group going out with the hubby and getting a new table top sounds like a good date to me. LOL! maribeth- Hope you are feeling better and girl, you are really planning to have a scrappin' good time. Have fun getting ready. I haven't done Calvinball before. I may have to check out the site and see what is going on.

Good Friday evening, everyone. Such good news about the little one, scrapincin. How did the bd party go? Too bad about your date night, LisaDV. Supper and shopping for scrappy equipment sounds like a great date! Hope your dh feels better soon. Glad your muffins turned out, kellyr21. I love that you are always ready to tackle something new. I don't suppose you have ever seen "black ice" in SoCal. It is very thin, very slick ice that forms on pavement, and unless the light is on it just right, it is almost invisible. So you can be driving down the highway thinking it is dry, or maybe just a little wet, and suddenly you are sliding all over! nylene, you had quite the adventure! Why is your dh heading through a snow storm to talk about GOLF? I love your balloon story. If you have not lived through the "hard times" it is really hard to realize how little some people have, or how much joy they can get out of something so small. I think we need to watch the small kids who delight in balloons and cardboard boxes and take so much joy from the tissue paper in the gift bag, you wonder if that would have been enough! Glad you are taking time in your Calvinball prep to give our creations praise, maribeth. I am always amazed by how much you are able to accomplish in a given amount of time. I think when you mention "production" and "productivity" in your Calvinball comments, that really shows where your focus is. I hope you can take some time to just enjoy the process too. And I can't believe how you managed to keep up with LOAD during your family crisis, justjac. I really hope the stent is doing its job and that your dad can go home soon. (If he was watching curling I hope that means that he was feeling better. I was wondering tonight if he was cheering on Manitoba, or yelling at Englot for abandoning Saskatchewan) He and your mom must have been really glad to have the family around to support them in this tough time. I had a busy couple of days. Drove up to Edmonton yesterday, spent the night with the little guys, and had breakfast with the family and then went with them to the hotel pool this morning. After we parted ways, I printed some pic's and did some marathon shopping. Spent my Christmas and birthday gift certificates on books and scrappy goodness. Searched for baking supplies for dgd's bd (just have one more thing to get and I can pack it up and send as soon as I have her card created). Drove home late afternoon. Looking forward to a good sleep in my own bed tonight...

Good Saturday Morning fellow Pokey's. I have such an awesome day planned - of course Calvin Ball prep!!!!! and yes grammadee I am for sure having FUN. I won't get to scrap much the first Saturday (4) in March because I have facial, hair and eye doctor appointments, so I am doing all I can to get some pages prepped so I can start as soon as I get up on the first, and do a few each morning and evening so I don't totally tank the first week. Funny story. So night before last, I come home as usual, and throw my purse and coat down on the tables I have set up in the living room for my CalvinBall extension. Hubby always has dinner ready for me right when I walk in the door so it is usually just a mad dash to put my stuff down, take the shoes off etc. So I am in the living room for oh, maybe a minute and hubby says "well do you notice anything" I am looking around "mmmmmm, no" You see I am pretty much the most oblivious person on the earth. I never notice when anything is out of place, I never notice if some grows a beard or shaves a beard that type of thing. Well low and behold!!!!>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> Jim had bought these flowers and placed them on my scrappy tables. No mind you I put my purse down on that very table! He said he did not want my scrappy space to look so clinical all month. No the bonus is, these are not real flowers (but they actually look it), because we can't have real flowers due to the cats, they like to eat them. I have such a darn sweet husband! Off to get prepped!

nylene, I still haven't called about my silhouette. Maybe Monday. It's still snowing here as well. It's 23 feels like 11. After such a nice week (in the 40s) I just can't stand it. Even the dogs are quick about their business. And one of them is never quick even when it's 11 feels like 2 so he must feel the same way. I love your balloon story. kellyr21, glad your muffins came out. maribeth, your husband is the sweetest! Yes, ladies, Don and I have already said we'd make another "date". However, it'll have to be sometime in April. I have March layout madness fever. Gotta go.

That was a really sweet gesture from your dh, maribeth. Supper cooked AND flowers? He sounds like a keeper! We are having a cold snap here too, LisaDV, and it always feels SO much colder after you have had some spring like temperatures! I sorted my wood veneer today, putting the little pieces into my new organizer. The problem is that the larger pieces won't fit, and I don't know what to do with all the cute little divided boxes the pieces came in. So I still have the original tub looking quite full. Will figure it out tomorrow. I managed to put together a couple of pages today. Pretty simple designs, lots of photos. grammadee - yup he is a keeper. We had a cold snap here Thursday and Friday. It was bitter, but alas no moisture (and we need it) But your Come into the Pool pages sure made it feel like summer when I saw them. Looks like they are maybe in and indoor pool? But just seeing all the lovely water and splashing around makes me want it to be warm. Fun fish elements really add to the aquatic feel of the pages. Looking good Grammadee.

Spent ALL day prepping for CalvinBall. I printed up the title labels for every Courthouse photo I have. I have been using my Pazzles cutter to write and cut the titles, but many of you may know the Pazzles machine always gives me problems. Well yesterday was no different. I was able to get two page of labels printed (16), before it just would not cooperating with the writing part. So I figured out a way to use a cut and print technique where I made a template cut out the ovals on the pazzles, affixed them to the template and ran that through the printer and it worked. Took FOREVER!!!! but at least I got them done. I have not done a count on how many photos I have but there are a ton!
Next I did the same technique with the NRHP photos I have on hand (the ones I found anyway), only had 8 of those. Will need to print more, and I may have some in my photo boxes as well.
Then I did my titles for my Post Office Pages - only a few of those right now, and they are done in Word so that is easy.
Next I started working on completing my Home Sweet Home project, and that has continued into this morning, but I think all the journalling/story telling is finally done. This is a difficult project for me as it tells the story of my tumultuous first marriage and the transient lifestyle we lead. It is difficult at times to relive these memories, but then I think that is what made me who I am today, and I like who I am today and my life now. It is a story that needs to be told, and now it has been. I have enjoyed getting Google Map screen shoots of many of the places I don't have photos for and it has been interesting trying to remember where I lived when . I am glad my page design is colorful and happy even though the memories were sometimes not.
Today's plan -
- Gather photos and papers for Twiggy and Grampa's Love Story Album - Gather 2015 and 2016 camping photos and papers (check to be sure I finished 2013 and 2014) and gather papers for the predesigned 2017 camping trips. - Gather papers for the remaining Courthouse Photos that I do not have papers for at this point (33) - Go through all of the printed photos I have to determine if I am going to make pages, store them, put them in pocket page as an addition to a previously made page of the same event. - Go through digital photos on computer and determine which ones need to be printed for pages, or pocket pages.
Well ladies I have my work cut out for me today so off I go..............

We went to Bobby's Blue and Gold dinner. They were supposed to do his Arrow of Light but I guess they are going to do it separately. I will be glad when he is out of that group. He found another group he would like to join. maribeth- lovely thing for your DH to do. That is how my DH is. Looking forward to sharing this month with you girls in CalvinBall. Ihope to get something accomplished this evening. Be back later.

WOW maribeth, you have been quite the busy bee as usual. You will be so ready to just create when March 1st arrives. grammadee, great pool pages. Today was a busy day out. I'm pretty sure I've mention before Don and I take turns taking ds to church and the following catechism class. Well, whoever isn't going has the job of taking care of dd the night before church, since she often suffers pain at night. Lately, it's not been so bad that you lose any extra sleep with her, except for last night, which of course, I had to care for her and go to church as DH came down with the flu on Friday. After catechism, I needed go for groceries, then after getting home and putting it all away I had so many dishes to do. It was 6pm before I sat down for a breather. Now I have to go figure out some dinner. Probably frozen pizza for me and ds. DH had leftover homemade chicken and dumplings (rolled). I still have no clue what to feed dd. But I'm exhausted. Tomorrow DD has her first consult for the biofeedback. So I probably won't get back until Tuesday. Have a great start to the week ladies.

I hope you get some sleep tonight, LisaDV and that your dd's appointment goes well tomorrow. And scrapincin , playing with stamps and colouring is a perfectly acceptable scrappy activity. I have been so focussed lately on getting pages "done", I haven't given myself a lot of time to just play. maribeth , just reading about everything you are doing to get ready for Calvinball makes me tired! My scraproom is maybe a little more organized than it usually is, but I am going to put my faith into having lots of choices of photos, papers and all the other elements. If I don't have something I need in here, then I should just change the plan! And I am giving you CB'ers a little head start: I am leaving in the morning for a 3 day grandparenting gig with a hyperactive 4 year old. He has hand/foot/mouth disease so can't go to school or daycare or any other public place where kids play. But he is feeling fine, so the challenge will be to keep him interested. Hoping the weather will allow some outdoor play b/c he has been housebound for 4 days now. So I won't be doing anything on the first. And I may be too exhausted on Thursday to do much. A couple of you have already seen these in the Gallery, but I'll link them here anyway. Here are my last two pages for February. I love it when different lines go so well together: used 3 different lines from 2 different manufacturers from 2 different years, and everything looks like it was made for each other! grammadee - good luck on your grandparenting gig! Four - Great layout, and you are right the melding of the various lines is seamless here. I love the bold background with the somewhat subtler hues in the patter papers. justjac - Terrific job on your painting and mixed media. I can not pain AT ALL. Pink The Truth About Love - Love the title work on the page - I think that Love was already on the page??? and you added the rest? That is a cool idea. My favorite Design style for Family Day. I have an entire digital series called Places We Have Been. I have always wanted to try to journal around the page on a layout. This design worked really well for that. Great job.

Well I didn't get as mush done on Sunday as I did on Saturday.
The Plan was: - Gather photos and papers for Twiggy and Grampa's Love Story Album - Hit a stumbling block here, I thought sure I had some printed photos, guess not, will now have to search compujter - Gather 2015 and 2016 camping photos and papers (check to be sure I finished 2013 and 2014) and gather papers for the predesigned 2017 camping trips. - Gather papers for the remaining Courthouse Photos that I do not have papers for at this point (33) - DONE!!!!!! - Go through all of the printed photos I have to determine if I am going to make pages, store them, put them in pocket page as an addition to a previously made page of the same event. - Go through digital photos on computer and determine which ones need to be printed for pages, or pocket pages.
So I only got done the items in Red, I did however go through my NRHP album in order to determine which pages I have already created, and so glad I did, I found I had three pages I had done twice - I need to keep an index of those so I don't continue to do that.
So I am not being productive this morning, but hoping to bring up a few photos and get temp photos printed to work with.
Have a great day ladies.

maribeth , you ONLY finished the things in red? Your energy makes me tired, but I know you are loving it! What a sweet husband you have. You know, as I think of each of us on this thread, we all have pretty special husbands! scrapincin , what fun things did you do with ink? I ordered that pretty pink ink but haven't taken the plastic off yet. I can't seem to keep up with everything right now. Hope you are feeling well. Are you going to do Calvinball? justjac , how is your dad doing now? I love your painting and layouts. I'll catch them in the gallery a little later. grammadee , good luck with the tending. I had a group of Cubs that all got Hand, Foot and Mouth. It spread quickly around the neighborhood. Beautiful layouts. I will leave comments in the gallery. The meeting in SLC was a golf course maintenance seminar. Steve and the superintendent both needed to be there. DH gets CEU's toward his National Certified GC Supt certificate. He could just get the retired emeritus cert. but he worked hard for the Nat'l cert and wants to keep it current for a few years. kellyr21 , I'm glad your muffins turned out well. I admire your constant desire to learn and do new things. You always have a fun goal. That will keep you young! Good luck on your next projects. I do my buttermilk/milk and vinegar like grammadee does. Black ice is when the sun melts the snow or rain on the road and it freezes. It often doesn't shine like ice and looks like just wet or sometimes dry pavement. When you try to stop or turn on it, it's like doing so on an ice rink. You just have to learn to always start slowing WAY before corners or stops. LisaDV , I am sorry you had such a long, grueling day yesterday. I hope you can get some sleep and catch up. I hope your DD does well with her appt. Biofeedback really helped my DD. She also was taught to endure more than she ever thought she could. It has helped in lots of areas of her life. We have tons of snow again. In the time I was at school I had 5 inches on my car. I am really so tired of it and the awful roads. It has been snowing, a heavy snow all day. We are expecting another storm after this one. I wish I could send it all to you, maribeth!!

grammadee, you may not be creating pages, but you'll be getting some good photos to scrapbook. Also with your grab, glue, and go, you'll make the top of the leaderboard like last year in no time. I left you love in the gallery the other day. Those are great pages - colors and title work. justjac, I can't open you mixed media painting. It says it's private. It's really a fantastic piece. Just love the butterflies and the shading of the wings gives a lot of depth. I already left comments on your other lovely layouts. Are you home now? How's your dad? maribeth, You've finished a lot. Great job. I found I had three pages I had done twice - I need to keep an index of those so I don't continue to do that. This is easy to do. I moved 2 days of photos into a working file for some digital layouts I'm going to make and edited photos to print for another story just this weekend. Then yesterday I received my project life app pages. Guess what? Yep, they were already completed there. AND I keep a layout index, I guess I need to search it by photo date for each story. nylene, I agree, we all have great husbands. I'm through with old man winter myself. So ready for spring and this bouncing back and forth is grueling. Today we'll be close to 50 with rain. Tomorrow the temps start to drop again and we'll have snow. I did get some good sleep the next night. Although we've gotten to a later bedtime due her staying up and DH's sickness. So I'll start the earlier wake up and earlier bedtime to get us back on track today. DD appt. went well, it was the initial consult. She has some exercises to already start. We go back next Tuesday. maribeth, although midnight is not too far off your normal wake up time, are you going to wake up then to start CB?? I did think about getting up early, you know maybe 5am, just so that I can get some time in before my normal day starts. I've even contemplated giving them easier assignments for the first couple of days as my excitement to create will be high, but then will wane and we can get back to school as usual. I should plan some quick meals too, or make the kids cook. Happy Tuesday to everyone!
