I was all for supporting MSP too. I love to support small business. My DH works for a small business. We are grateful it is still going after a recession & changes in the economy landscape. My DH has had customers who were in the wrong and really caused trouble. We see it all the time in his business. My DH has even received apologies from customers and candy too, lol. Customer's behave badly and the business gets abused by it. People are so quick to tweet or post about something without giving time to fix the problem nowadays. I really understand that.
I have issues with my hands and holding stamp blocks can be very painful. I was ready to order a MISTI. Went over to her site had it in my cart and then thought to myself I should see if I need anything else with it before I hit submit. I remembered there was a huge thread over here about MISTI. I never read it because I didn't have one. I started reading the thread. My mouth dropped open because it sure was not tips & tricks.
It would not have bothered me one bit if there was issues and problems with her customer care. I want to know those but I would still weigh my options. I wanted to see what the religious saying was on the MISTI. Could not find it. Went to the scrapbook stores online still could not see a picture of it. Why did she hide it? I sure didn't want to receive an item that says "He should serve the devil faithfully" or something like that. If any of you want to do that please don't be hurt by my comment. To our devil faithful friends I am sure you don't want "Serve God faithfully" on your products and would like to know if it is on there before ordering. This weekend I bought two things with religious sayings on them. Not because of the sayings but because I wanted the items.
How she threatened Don over here was the final straw for me. No professional business owner threatens a person on a public forum. If she had issues then she should have contacted Don through PM's. She meant to chastise and humiliate him on a public forum. My issue is how anybody thinks that is ok? I don't think a retired gentleman on a fixed income is a threat to her empire!
I don't think any small or large business owner would do something like this. That most would find it very unprofessional & wrong. I think most would be really embarrassed to do something like that.
Do I want to see her fail? No, of course not. I want her to succeed. I have seen how she has changed stamper's lives with that product. A lot of people could not stamp due to various health issues. Do I want to see her burn her bridges in a industry that is based on supporting each other? No, I do not but I think she is.
I do think she has a right to protect her product? Yes, 100% I do. Some of the stamp presses have been very close to her own. That would have upset me too. I also would have handled it differently. Showing how openly she handles the legal aspects of her company doesn't make me trust her to provide good customer service if there is a problem with her product.
I do consider her as a religious company now. My DH's business is also a Christian company. They act accordingly. Living in an area with a lot of Christian companies I see a different way of handling business than a company who does not openly advertise they are. If I am making sense on a tired brain. I have been to the women's business conventions with my girlfriends who are business owners. I have been to the seminars on how to run your company if you are faith based. I don't see her doing that. It does make me leery of purchasing from her. I know that is a very small issue for most consumers. It is an issue for me as a consumer.
