Oh, now, see , living in PA, I would have asked if you knew how to drive properly. j/k I wouldn't really ask or even think that, although I did grow up always hearing about "those Jersey drivers!!!". SaveLol, it's all good, I learned to drive in Indiana I didn't learn any pre-conceived ideas about Indiana drivers, so you're safe. Save

I live at the Jersey shore and am not loud, obnoxious or full of myself. I do, however, have a NJ accent (which is nothing like the people on that Jersey Shore show), and have been known to say caw-fee. I bet I'm not the only one to say caw-fee aloud a few times on reading this! I'm English, I drink loads of hot tea and I say please and sorry a lot! I can't think what I don't do that's typically English! Me too I also chunter under my breath when people don't know how to queue properly SaveChuntering is good. Living in Scotland, I can not abide accordian and fiddle music. It sets my teeth on edge. Also macaroni pies will never form part of my diet.

Portland, Oregon reporting in. I don't:
-have a beard -eat salmon -ride a fixie, for commuting or otherwise -drink coffee, beer or wine -smoke pot -have chickens -embrace the weekend warrior outdoor sport lifestyle -go out for brunch (unless guests are visiting) -eat doughnuts (unless guests are visiting and want to visit one of the popular shops)
I do: -recycle -shop at Powell's Books (too frequently) -eat at food carts -shop at farmer's markets -wear sensible shoes -carry a Queen Bee messenger bag -drive a Prius

Another in Washington (16 years). I don't drink/like coffee, and I don't eat/like apples. I also do not like Salmon (or any other fish with fins/gills). I do however own many fleece jackets for layering. I'm on the East side of the state and it's freaking cold for 5-6 months of the year.
My first 31 years were in San Diego. I never surfed, but went to the beach a ton and we owned a cabin in the Mountains, so I did do the sunrise in the mountains and the sunset at the beach on many many occasions.

Buckeye state - born & bred. Have lived in Houston 10 years now. As for Ohio - I admit I still call soda "pop". Probably always will. But my family doesn't spell out "O-H-I-O" with our arms in pictures LOL. I don't eat my chili over spaghetti. I don't drink Natural Light. And don't say "please" instead of "excuse me" when I didn't hear what someone said. Oh, and I still have a love/hate relationship with LeBron. As for Texas - I don't like Whataburger (blasphemy I know!), I don't really care for Shiner, the only "Friday Night Lights" I'm under are for women's HS soccer, I don't own cowboy boots, hats or Wranglers, but I do love to go to the Rodeo! Buckeye girl, too...but I never wear OSU clothing nor do I care to watch or listen to OSU football. Around here, grown women walk around with their bligged out OSU game day wear every weekend in the fall. ugh! Ohio is an interesting state, in just minutes you can drive among the Amish buggies as if it is 1800 something to being in a busy, booming city in 2017. As for LeBron, you gotta love him. His ego is the size of CLE itself, but he does so, so many good things for the less fortunate. He is a good guy.

I'm in CA and can't think of a single thing...curious what other Californians will say....(surfing, sushi, beaches, liberal, hiking, wine, drive a prius, compost, yup yup yup) ME too! I think I'm pretty quintessential Californian. I don't drive a Prius though, I don't think that's a Calif thing though, I don't see that many around compared to any other. Surfed some as a kid, boogie boarded, sushi of course, beaches..wine..compost..Disneyland, Hollywood, IDK what else would people consider Californian? Celebrity sitings? Check that too, all the dang time. Freeze when it's lower than 75 degrees outside...not afraid of earthquakes. Hmm. I think I'm pretty typical. LOL.

I live in Colorado and don't partake of the wacky weed. I do love to hike and enjoy the outdoors though. LOL, I don't either. I was down in your neck of the woods climbing the Manitou Incline yesterday. My hips are asking what was I thinking this morning. My son's gf runs that twice a week in the summer. No. thank. you. Down at the bottom of the incline is a great Mexican restaurant called The Loop. It has amazing margaritas if you ever want to try it again AND erase the pain for a few hours.

I do not like the smell of tobacco whether it's curing or being smoked. I'm glad restaurants and public buildings banned smoking. I am not obese. I skip basketball games if more interesting things are going on, and during March Madness, I cheer for all teams from my state - even when playing each other.

Just making it to the top is a huge feeling of accomplishment. My older son does it in under 30 minutes and I just don't know how. I will remember The Loop because I do enjoy a good maragarita from time to time. Thank you for the suggestion.

Born and raised in Washington and I don't wear or own any flannel and never listened to grunge, Nirvana or Pearl Jam. I think I'd like living there. I own lots of flannel. I do eat turkey steaks, fry sauce, dill pickle dip, funeral potatoes, "scones", and jello (without the weird stuff). I like skiing. If I don't watch myself I say mou'n and lay'n (mountain and Layton). I don't drink, but that could change. I don't go to church, I'm not religious (used to be), I don't do much outdoors, and disagree with a church running state politics. I'm not into Lularoe leggings, lipscense, insert any other MLM company. I've never sold for a MLM company. I don't wear shirts under tank tops. Well, I flat out don't wear tank tops. I DO scrapbook. It is not a popular thing in Utah anymore. I could not care less about the BYU/U of U rivalry.

I'm from Michigan and I hate Vernors and Better Made chips. I do love me some cherries and tulips, though. I'm the opposite. I LOVE Vernors. I quit drinking pop over a year ago but if I were to fall off the wagon I would reach for a Vernors or a Faygo Redpop. So Delish! I don't play euchre, hunt or work in the auto industry. SaveSave

do NOT do. I'm a born and raised Texan. I don't wear Cowboy boots, ride/own horses, live on a farm, go to western clubs, (rarely) listen to country music, go to rodeos, own chickens, wear/own anything monogrammed, I don't say "Bless your heart", crick (instead of creek)... How about you? What are things your state is known for that you do NOT do? Not born in Texas but have lived in Texas longer than I have lived anyplace else and I have not done/worn any of the things except we used to tell our old minister "bless your heart" when he messed up (he always said that was southern code for "you're an idiot"!) I am also not a big fan of bbq, to me a little goes a long way.

I am a life long Minnesotan, but I would never try Lutefisk! I am not a Viking fan, either. And also I don't sound like I walked off the set of Fargo, have never been downhill or cross country skiing and never went to any of the Minneapolis Aquatennial events or to a Holidazzle parade. In addition to these things, I don't "go to the lake", deer hunt or make green jello. Yep, all that, but I DO go to the lake. I also hate winter, snow, and anything you do outside in the winter.

I'm in a neighboring city of Las Vegas. I've gambled less than $50 in the 29 years I've been legal to gamble. I've only been to a casino buffet three times for DS middle school basketball banquets. I was not a cocktail waitress in college, or while I was starting my career, or ever. No judgment..a lot of my friends did it. Plenty of them were strippers too. I got married at 20 (married 30 years in June), and it wasn't happening, no matter how much money my friends were making. I don't find our dessert and mountain landscape beautiful. I find it dirty and depressing. I will admit we can have some pretty spectacular sunsets, and the view of the strip (down in the valley) on a clear night is pretty cool.
I was born in and raised in MI until I was 15. My home is never without Vernors, and my non soda drinking dessert rat kids, go straight for it, at the first sign of any illness. My grocery store sells in as a mixer in the alcohol department. They might be on to something.

I'm from D.C. / Northern Virginia and my Dad would take us to Civil War Reenactments and we'd be SO bored! ALL we cared about was what we'd have for lunch at McDonald's! --hmmm, can anyone tell me what things are considered common in that area? The ONLY thing I can think of is that many people asked if we lived there because my Dad worked in politics/ government, which he didn't. ETA....I just remembered one thing----although none of us live there anymore; my Dad, brother, and sister are HUGE Redskin fans. I'm in Northern VA and I'm not sure I know any Redskins fans. Everyone I know has ties to somewhere else so they're loyal to other teams. GO STEELERS! Virginia is for LOVERS! Y'all gotta be lovers lol

I play euchre, DH is an avid hunter, my favorite place in the world is Lake Michigan's beaches, I practically grew up in a car dealership, our immediate family owns four Fords, we have a cabin "up north." Can't think of a single Michigan thing that I dislike except for UofM. Go Green!

Ha! I'm also a Seattleite and get irritated when I see memes or jokes about kids in Seattle being born with an umbrella in their hands. We don't use those here!! If you've got an umbrella, you are either a tourist or a transplant from somewhere else. This made me laugh. I was born and raised just south of Seattle and go home fairly regularly. One of the first times I took my DH out there it was drizzling and he grabbed an umbrella. I told him that I would not be seen with him if he used it. I'm not a tourist Also, we all don't live on houseboats and we all don't work for Microsoft. Many other Western WA things I do: salmon, coffee, I wore grunge back in the day, loved Pearl Jam and Nirvana, and many other things that are now escaping me. So explain to me why residents don't use an umbrella? What do you use/wear to keep the rain from soaking your hair and clothes or spotting your glasses?

I'm trying to think of the stereotypical Alabama things. I don't fry food in my home (but don't turn up my nose elsewhere. ) I don't eat mayonnaise. I wear shoes. I don't enjoy the beach, but my fiance does. I'm going to have to learn! I *do* watch college football, but didn't choose my wedding date based on the Bama/Auburn football schedules (picked a horrible Saturday, in fact!). I *do* attend church most Sundays, and visit my grandmother most Sunday afternoons.

So explain to me why residents don't use an umbrella? What do you use/wear to keep the rain from soaking your hair and clothes or spotting your glasses? It depends on the type of rain: if it is just a misting or light drizzle you don't even notice it. If it's a steady drizzle you may put on a rain jacket with or without a hood. If it's a heavy and pounding rain you use a jacket and boots. I would give a pass for an umbrella at that point. I used to wear a rain jacket and rain boots when I worked downtown and had to walk around. I would change into regular shoes when I got to my desk. I live in Michigan now and I am convinced that you have to have been born here to like Vernors, Faygo red, and to play Euchre. I can't get the hang of euchre to save my life and I don't like Vernors. I have learned that some Faygo is ok but not red. It's also not pop. It's soda

I grew up in Arkansas hence why I live in Connecticut now. I can't stand heat and humidity, I don't give two shits about football, Razorback or otherwise, and I love living close to the ocean. The vestiges of my Arkansas girlhood are that I still say y'all and I inwardly gasp when my fellow Yankees do something which strikes me as rude or brusque, like not thanking me for holding a door open, or worse, not holding a door open. I had to stop using the generic Coke to indicate a soft drink because it just confused people. I also purged "fixin' to" as it made me a source of ridicule. Probably the Connecticut things I do mostly relate to language, like saying tag sale instead of garage sale. I also definitely do not wear preppy clothes.

Somebody's gonna have to start asking me questions because I can't think of anything. I'm in KS. Are you a conservative? Eat bierrocks? A farmer? In the military? Conservative - yes, but not the kind of "conservatives" we've been talking about politically lately. Conservative in dress, lifestyle, financially, that sort of thing. Definitely conservatively religiously but not "out there" or a fanatic, not to be confused with the religious conservatives that are making asses of themselves at the moment.
Bierocks - yes, but like verenike more!!!
Farmer - sorta. Grew up in that environment, have an Ag degree, ILs have a small hobby farm 3 miles from us that we'll move onto one day.
Military - no.
