I have a horrible issue with my clear stamps, or loose ones non-blocked if you will.
My wood blocked are in a large sheet music old cabinet I found at a antique store. I love it..most expensive piece of furniture for my room but I have never had regrets or buyers remorse with it. (cabinet on left side) [also this picture was in the early stages of me setting up my scraprooms when I moved into this place]
For my clear storage I have that cart on the right. And things are labeled, sentiments, flowers, etc. I have now added to that storage with some shoe box type containers on a book shelf with other categories. I have slowed down in buying stamps. I'm still not happy with the clear storage. I am planning on working it this weekend.

Beautiful cabinet. I'm pretty happy with how I have most things stored. Except.... photos. I really need to get a better system going with them. It's one of those things you know you need to do, you just don't want to. So anyway, I keep putting it off.

Letter stickers/thickers. Probably because I have a million or of them. I start out sorting them by color but once I start digging around for a set I mess it all up then let it go for a while.

die cuts. I have so many and, at one point, I removed them from their packages, which really just made things harder.

Photos for me!! Before I started scrapping in 1998 my photos were organized. All were in albums, frames or duplicates in photo boxes by date.
Then I started scrapping!!! All sense of organazation was lost. Then digital made it worse.
Now I have photo boxes I need to organize, loose photos and duplicates put where they belong.
I am scrapping my pre 1998 albums and those photos are easy, just grab the old album, look for duplicates (if any) and scrap away. Slowly working backward as well as forward. 2011 album is completed. 2012 had been started. A few 2013 & 14 pics have been scrapped.
And I now only send photos to Costco or Shutterfly or print my own. I did an order with snap fish once. Re uploaded the photos to shutterfly as I was planning for a retreat and since the photos were not at Shutterfly, I did not think I had printed them. Until I found them. Printed from snapfish. Just had not been scrapped yet!!!

paper. I like it organized by theme, or at least the theme of the photos I would likely use it for. Lots of paper does not fit a theme and so it sits in piles.

LOVE your cabinet! What a find! I would love to get a vintage library card catalog but they are hard to find and really expensive when you do happen to see one.
I use the clear plastic DVD cases for all of my clear stamps that didn't come from CTMH. They cost about .60 each when you get them in bulk, and they will usually hold two typical sets of clear stamps in each one. If the set comes on a clear sheet with the designs printed on and it fits in the case as is, I leave them on the sheet. If not, I take them off and stick them right inside the case. Works great, keeps them clean and I can see what I have at a glance.
I just leave the CTMH sets in the plastic envelopes they come in because they are already pretty compact and fairly easy to store as is.
Right now I would say the hardest thing for me to store is EVERYTHING because I have virtually no storage and my whole studio is a complete disaster. I have been reading everything I can find and checking out scrap rooms on blogs and Pinterest for over three years to get ideas for storing stuff. It's so hard trying to figure out what will work with what I have because so much of my stuff was packed six months or more before we moved, and we moved over two years ago! I also sew, make cards/stamp and do some other types of crafts so I have to figure out a way to create task zones for all of that stuff too. I'm not a patient person anyway and can't stand the chaos so all of this crazy waiting has been pushing me close to my breaking point!

For me it's my Distress Inks. Don't ask me why I even have these things, since I hardly ever use them. I like the idea of storing them upside down (read somewhere that that was the best way), but it's been really hard finding a storage item that worked so that you could store them that way, but still access them easily. I finally bought a tool box type thingie from Lowe's and while it stores them OK, it's not my ideal. Still searching . . .
I don't have that many clear stamps, but like crazy4scraps, mine are in cheapo CD cases. I stamp each image on a piece of cs that I slide in the front and they're all stored upright in a box so I can flip thru them easily.
I'm another one who :love:s your cabinet!

I think the most difficult thing for me to store are my scraps. I would love to color coordinate them for storage but finding a suitable method for storing them container wise is a challenge. Very nice cabinet in your photo!

Love, love, love that cabinet! That is a real find! I love vintage furniture, I just wish I could afford it. Stamp organization is my worst area too. Right now I separate them by theme into clear plastic boxes 12x12xx3 that I got from Joanns. I have 10 of them. I was wanting to lay them all out so I could see at a glance what I have, but I just have too many, they are stacked on each other in the boxes. My clear stamps I generally leave in the packages they came in. I unmounted some of my wood stamps years ago, and stored them in CD cases. I wish I hadn't done that now. My biggest issue is making a stamp index. I did it once before and it worked ok, but I need to do it over since I've reorganized them. It will be a big project when I get to it.

I have too many punches. Hundreds. I have to keep them stored in different places. I would love a huge room that I could have them all out. Right now I have four-four foot shelves of the Ek Success and Martha Stewart ones, but I have so many more.

I actually have thought about those (cassette tape holders, too). If I ever get my own space, that is definitely my plan. For now, since I have only a closet, I'm trying to keep things portable.

Thank you. I have some interesting pieces thru out our home.
I use the cassette tape holders for my inks. They are hard to find...8 trak is actually better. But when you do find them they are cheap. I found them at value village. DVD holders now they are a dime a dozen and cheap as well and would be great for stamp storage if you used the dvd storage .

The Ranger website says it won't hurt them, but it's fine to store on their side or right side up. Here's a link to Ranger's FAQ page: rangerink.com/faq/#q13

Page protectors! I scrap 12x12, 8.5x11 PL and have a scrap rack. I also enjoy adding odd size inserts. They just take up some much volume! They are also transparent, so it's difficult to find what I'm looking for.

Paper! I want to organize it by type or theme, but when I start to sort it I find there are too many that fit more than one category or most of it ends up in a misc. category. Some things are very specific, of course, like Christmas. But then I'll have paper with branches and birds - so do I put it with nature or animals? Or maybe I need to make a bird category. But what if I like the paper for outdoor pictures and don't care if it has a bird on it - how will I find it? It's a horrible dilemma! Then after I sort it I can't find anything that I'm looking for! I go around and around with it constantly!

Organizing is one of my favorite aspects of scrapping! I'm a simple, story-focused, journaling-extensive, cardstock-intensive, & traditional 12x12 scrapper that incorporates various sizes/configurations of page protectors to hold extra photos/memorabilia. My current dilemma is storing the various sizes (e.g. 12x12, 6x12, 6x8, 8x8, 8x11.5) & numerous configurations of protectors, so they are easily identified, accessible, & occupy a small amount of space!

For the past couple months, I've stored protectors in a 3-ring binder with clear Becky Higgins dividers separating the various sizes/configurations - an upgrade from the large shopping bag in which numerous packs had accumulated without any type of organization. I prefer horizontal storage & resolved that clear Display Dynamics trays would solve my problem. After walking by them for a couple years at my local ACMoore, the store no longer stocks them - ugh!

The most difficult thing to organize in our house is MY HUSBAND! He's a hoarder and it leaves me NO ROOM for any scrappy stuff. LOL! Too funny :-) That's why I don't even try to share an office/scraproom with mine. It was difficult enough when I used to scrap in the dining room and he had makeshift office space in the basement. Now we each have our own and it works much better for us. The most difficult thing for ME to organize is MY TIME! I haven't yet figured out a way to complete a 40-hour work week (plus added commute time) AND routine stuff (cooking, kid activities, laundry, chores/cleaning) AND still have time for scrapping during the weekdays. (Heck, sometimes it's even hard to fit it in on a weekend!) It's both easier and harder now that we have only one child still at home; as a young teenager he still needs driven everywhere and the activities he's into take longer, even if they're more independent, KWIM? For organizing scrappy supplies, clear stamps are my most difficult item. Most things in my scraproom are pretty well organized in a way that works well...except I'm embarrassed to say that most of my clear stamps are in a couple of Sterilite drawers. In a jumbled heap. I know I'd use them a lot more if they were organized! LOVE the sheet music cabinet!

Oh, my heart just breaks for many of you! In my current life I work in finance. In my other life I had to have been an organizer. It is the one thing I love to do! I can't say that there is one thing my room is lacking. I made it my mission! It has evolved over several years (moved to three different rooms in the house!) and now everything has home. Love my room! I can be over tomorrow to get you guys fixed up!! I'm another one who s your cabinet!

Then they sit in those plastic paper holders that hold 500 sheets of paper.

To answer your question: My time! I spend more time organizing my things instead of using them. I just can't seem to get crafty unless my area is clean and neat. And well, as crafters you all know how that goes! I have almost everything organized exactly how I want it. The only issue I have is my closet that is packed full of "one days". One day I will use this for.... I have an entire clothing closet full of "one days". Hmmm, so I guess my answer should be my closet.
